@MsBathory Thank you. I totally agree. Wonder why I did that for the first version and not this one. Will keep this in mind.

This is a really lovely birch tree!

One note toward even more realism I'd like to make in case you're ever looking to 3.0 it, is that the very bottoms of the trees in real life are fairly dark grey and heavily textured with barely any silvery bits (think small-ish chunks between cracks) still showing while the tops of the trunks and branches are more of a smooth (if flaky) pure white with just dots and thin slashes of dark bark showing here and there. The same way the Scots Pine is more grey on the bottom and brighter orange toward the top, but not dark quite as high up and the change is a pretty smooth gradient.

It's definitely not a problem, but if the bottoms of the trees were darker it would help cut down the slightly cartoonish effect the pure white trunks have against the in-game grass texture.

@Cengoman- Use the Ultimate Level Of Distance mod. The link is in the description.

can you fix render distance. Game doesn't render the tree after 100m

Wow! This is the first birch on Workshop that looks about right to me! It will be an extremely important part of making realistic looking nordic mixed forests. Can't wait for the new Scots Pine! I think the spruces still hold up well despite being a couple of years old. If I can make a little suggestion for the upcoming pine tree, could you possibly make it slightly shorter than the original one? The old Scots Pine kinda feels too tall to me, although I have gladly used it on my maps. Thank you very much! Great Work!

I've been trying to get those reference photos put together, but it has got to be one of the wetter summers in a few years. But upon a good sunny day I'll have those american Elm photos linked

We in Russia also like these trees and treat them as national symbol. Kind of Uralic people heritage I guess. Thanks!

A fine tribute to Collossal Order and their Finnish homeland! I'll be using these alongside your other excellent work. I have two silver birches in my back yard in Tasmania and never knew them to be "the most important broadleaved tree species in Finland" despite having visited their beautiful forests and lakes years ago.
