Thanks! Got it working now :)

https://cslmodding.info/asset/vehicle/#illumination train and ship shaders have different rules for illumination. that's an easy fix if you tweak the _i a bit

Not even that is working atp :( https://imgur.com/a/8os5wTW (idk why its mature)
I guess I'll give this up, not sure what other avenue I can go down now and Idk how to fix this lighting issue :/ thanks for the help tho!

i.e. template it off the default ferry instead.
Robert  [author] 19 Sep, 2023 @ 5:08am
well, if all else fails, you can switch the shader back to being a ship and just live with it looking soggy.

Hm yeah I tríed that now (in different combos, once without rerunning it, once with, once with script 1+2, and once with script 1+2 and rerun) and sadly It doesn't work in any of them. :/

okay, maybe you need to create it, save it, close, load it, run the script, save it again? I can't remember when the vertex paint is applied. i.e. maybe it is only applied when you first save it. the game applies vertex colours to identify wheels, all that script is doing is run through every vertex in the mesh and assign a non-wheel colour. if it isn't working that means the colour is getting re-applied after the script runs. I don't remember.. :(

Sadly the Issue is still happening, even after trying a combination of script 1 and 2 and some other tries with old scripts :/ https://imgur.com/ZaG3JHs

Thank you so much! I heard from BlackThunder that a train shader was involved, but he missed the script. Finally can cross this off my list then! :)

haha, yes. the default ship shader made the whole thing look wet and dark, I set it to the train shader. This means any connected vertices near the "ground" are wheels. to fix this, when you set it up in asset editor, you need to run a script in modtools. I have uploaded my reference doc here, I think only step 2 is relevant. Good luck! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ygZYFrgWIJpAX3BOynk1oUZ09MWzhU8U/view?usp=sharing

Hey, Im currently doing a retexture of this ship, but have ran into some Issues with the final Imported Version. All I really changed was the _d file, but on import, the ship partially rotates like a paddle wheeler. any Idea on how to fix this? I assume some kind of shader or floor setting?

I get where you're coming from, but this would be a bit like listing Move It as a required mod. It's a fundamental mod for using every single custom transport vehicle on the workshop. Improved Public Transport 2 has over 230,000 subscribers.
dancertm 12 Jul, 2019 @ 7:57pm
ahhh ok, thanks. Might think about editing and letting people know there is a required mod.
Robert  [author] 12 Jul, 2019 @ 7:20pm
Standard mod would be "Improved Public Transport 2" which is what allows you to specify which vehicle types are to run on a public transport line you create. This applies to buses and trains you get off the workshop, too.

Do you need a MOD to connect the RiverCat to the ferry line?

Where's CityRail M and H sets? Those were probably the newest CityRail trains before I moved to Melbourne. I'd love to have it on CS.
Robert  [author] 21 Jun, 2019 @ 4:29pm
I'd love to, but not next :)
