Install it, start it.
Then resolve the missing dependencies in the orange "Missing dependencies" tab.
Next I disabled all non-WOTC mods that didnt explicitly say that they are WOTC compatible - were all just cosmetics. Just click on the "For WOTC" field (right most field) to sort it by "false".
Be aware that the Mod "One Million Colours Plugin For WOTC" requires "One Million Spark Colours". They probably work, but as I wasnt interested in them I disabled them both.
Lastly, go into the workshop and subscribe to the mod [WOTC] Alien Hunters Community Highlander if you have Alien Hunters DLC.
I started a new game and played the initial mission, without problems. Cant say anything about bugs later on.
all the comments are about that!
just saying.
anywho thx Mr Odd this is really fun
Had some of the same issues that a lot of people in this thread have been describing frequently an was able to solve them without fiddling with config files, but did require the AML.
1. Unsub your current mods.
2. Sub All to these mods
3. Close steam
4. Download the AML, get the latest version!
5. Start Steam
6. Launch AML
7. Select all the mods in the AML
8. In the AML you'll see WOTC True/False as a column, use this to get rid of all of the False ones
9. Now hit the missing dependencies button, there were about 8, use steam to go sub to what it missing, and add them in, some of these exist in this list as Non-WOTC mods, which is weird, but seems to work.
10. Once you have 0 missing dependencies, hit run, and the game should launch and run your mods.
Hope this helps anyone who was having troubles, my guess is that some of the mod updates have made this list a bit outdated.
Delete the whole config folder (it will bring everything, wiping the config files for every mod you have or deleted, sometimes old mods config files stick in there, so the configs override one each other and it messes with the game).
Dont worry tho, when you launch the game again it will create all the config files for all the mods all over again.
Config wipe is just deleting the config file in my documents xcom 2 wotc am i correct
Will check for a config wipe i guess?
I get often this error when launching the game "an error occurred while updating"
Also in my download window, i still have XCOM 2 updates "missing files" even if i clicked on it, does nothing, doesn't update.
Now i wonder if i should just subscribe to them all one by one... read if there's any conditions to enable them
*****TLDR Do play this collection do i need to just click subscribe to all or i should click on them one by one***********
I really want to play a fully modded game so i can get the most of it
Not a helpful tidbit but still a tidbit none the less, so if the mod list doesn't work then tweak it until it does by removing mods and whatnot.
You don't need to purchase that dlc if you follow the instructions on the mod page.
\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config
I just read that moving your old saves out of C:\Users\mirag\Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\SaveData might also help but I don't know if that truly works or not.
That's all I know besides completely uninstalling the game.
If anyone has issues with this mod list, searching through this collections comment history might yield some answers.
If anything I've said in this comment section in the past helps you in any way then that's good.
This mod list seems to work for some people but not for others, it might be best to try another mod list or adjust this one.
