I added this mod mid-campaign and I have a few bugs, but I think that's to be expected. First time I did this, I had one Colonel and mid to late game weapons. That was really hard, I lost all the prisoners save one Major.

Second time I had two of the Chosen weapons and Colonels and Majors mainly. It was an ADVENT squad wipe. As in, we snuck in, blew a bunch of enemy up, got all the prisoners out and we wound up killing everyone. The only ADVENT left on the field were the reinforcements who landed just as my guys got out.

Third time I had all the Chosen weapons and all Colonels. We just walked in the front door and started shooting.

WOW excelente mod nunca antes tuve que usar tanto poder militar en una mision haha lleve a mis mejores hombres hasta tuve que sacar mi arsenal nuclear la mision fue un exito sin bajas me costo mucho evacuar los civiles murieron 2 pero todo salio bien casi destruyo toda la fortaleza haha

Had to uninstall as well. When you hack the door in the compound, you will get control of the prisoners, but it only opens one cell. I was able to rescue 4 out of 6 but it still gave me the ´mission failure´ at the end. Never had these issues when I played this mod about two years ago, but guess lots of mods got updated by then.

People who are also having the "no evac zone" bug: the console command EnableGlobalAbility PlaceEvacZone let me get out of it fine by placing my own.

Ran into a number of issues trying mission and going to have to disable it.

Mission described atleast 2 scientist as reward.
Prison cells contained 2 Sci and about 4 regular prisoners.
Had to hack every door individually making rescue while fighting vast numbers of enemies a challenge even with a squad of 7.

After configuring mission for my difficulty and attempting it again I only lost 1 soldier and 1 prisoner.
Back on avenger I only received 1 scientist and prisoners I rescued had no clear benefit or sign of existence.

LWOTC player here. Mission looks fun and every thing seems to work once started. However, I ran into a bug prior to starting where if the infiltration timer runs out then the mission disappears and any infiltrating units become unrecoverable. I have to start the mission immediately once I get it or it will bug out like this for me.

LWotC player here playing with about 420 mods, no crashes or anything but The prisoners are totally unresponsive, I can't select them I can't even 'splode them with grenades.

Played this last night. DAMN this was a great mission!

The dynamic of trying to get everyone into the evac zone in the time window, without just sprinting madly through enemy fire, works really well. I failed to get everyone out the first time, but foolishly did evac SOME of my troopers, and so the remaining 3 soldiers and a rescued prisoner had to survive until the 2nd attempt. It was INTENSE - never been so proud of my lads ;) Got everyone out eventually and with an enormous Advent killcount.

For anyone yet to play this - take some plasma grenades to see if you can blow a hole in the side of the wall - should make it way for the prisoners to get out!

Only one suggestion on the mod - I didn't realise that Firebrand would return to the SAME SPOT on subsequent evacs. After the first evac zone evaporated, I wrongly assumed the 2nd zone could spawn anywhere, rather than on the same spot.

If anyone is having the issue of the evac point not spawning in once the timer is up (like you hear the sounds and see the light from firebrand but no blue flares) the best workaround I've found for this bug is that you call the skyranger to pick you up before you start actually engaging advent, then when the time comes for it to spawn the evac point after opening the cells, it still wont but then it'll allow you to call it in again, kinda sucks that it breaks since its a fun mission... not sure why it does but that's what I've done and it went fine.

WOW what a mission !! 2 hours of mayhem but got my team out. Running 500+ mods (inc. CI) and had no problems during the mission or with the soldier rewards afterwards. Great mod, prison break with a twist.

So I deleted EVAC Corpses mod. That was the only extra mod I added to the collection I had installed. Evac zone still doesn't spawn, but now if I call Skyranger before I rescue any prisoners I do get an evac zone. So finally completed mission, with a couple console command tweaks. :steamhappy:

Evac zone doesn't spawn. There are shimmering lights but no place to evac. If I move someone to that area I get a CTD. If I do not move there timer runs out and I have to wait a couple more turns to get another not spawning evac. Is there a code to over ride> And or what is the exact procedure for disabling the mod's evac rules? Thanks. Otherwise, Mrs Lincoln, I enjoyed the play and and think the mission is a hoot.

LZ won't spawn. Spent the past hour trying to see if maybe it just wasn't visible... maybe another mod conflicts. Just letting you know.

The extraction area won't spawn. The Skyranger lights appear with all the effects and sounds but the grid is nowhere to be seen, Once I move a unit under the lights it disappears and I have to wait for it to return. It returns but the grid is still not spawning.:steamsad: So basically I am stuck in that endless loop of enemy reinforcements hahahaaaaaaaaaa *goes insane* I racked up so many kills it felt sad to juts quit it and go back to my Avenger save.

So my game has around ~6 captured soldiers but when this mission spawned it gave me 2 soldiers out of my chracter pool and 4 random civilians. I only got 2 keep the 2 soldiers from my character pool and none of my captured soldiers were here. Anyone encounter this before and know what might be conflicting?

@noisymichael yes you can, as stated up in the description you first have to get the mission through a covert mission. and if you have no captured soldiers then the game will randomly generate scientists, engineers, or high ranking officers and rookies. as i previously thought it was a garenteed 6 man reward, i now realize it is not but it is still useful for recruiting.

I love the concept and the fights but... phew... I got too many mods, dropped like 5x muton commanders when i'm just on mag rifles, i got toasted. :)

this was one hell of a mission, and it was suitably hard. I actually had nine troops via mods deployed and I still struggled. gotta say, though, it was worthwhile; I got everyone out and even took one of the enemies captive

You can't play it via Skirmish mode or TQL. Haven't figured that out yet.
Crashes with certain mods enabled. No root cause identified so far.
The mission timer doesn't appear next to the mission for some reason. Will investigate later.:lunar2019deadpanpig:

Hey so, I'm playing this on LWOTC and it seems to work just fine! But, I have a question. My skirmisher and a few other high level units got captured, and I did the covert action to make the prison break mission spawn. I saw all their names in there and was like "Great!" but unfortunately all my soldiers were REALLY injured and had to defend from a retalliation, so I couldn't send them out and the prison break expired. I've done the covert action 3 times since then and each time, only rookies have appeared.

If you don't go to rescue them, do they just disappear FOREVER? Surely they should show back up again next time, as it only says a transport comes to move them to another facility if you fail, they don't like.. get executed. I wanna get these high level soldiers back but the mission is now only giving me the option to rescue rookies!

So, my evac area failed to spawn and I cannot evac any units. If I try to console command the mission to be over it fails because "Extract All XCOM Operatives" is still active. Can you tell me what's the objective designation for that so I can use ForceCompleteObjective?

I need help. I'm doing the mission and I go to the point where I can evac my soldiers. But the evac zone is nowhere to be seen. I moved some people to where it looked like the Skyranger's spotlight was, but I didn't have the option to evac. I'm on ironman, so I can't reload a save. Is there anything I can do?

It still didn't bring back my soldiers abducted by the alien abductors mod, but I enjoyed rescuing people regardless.

Sorry for taking an extremely long time updating the mod but i managed to fix the longstanding issue where the covert action doesn't pop up anymore, along with other balance passes and localization updates.

Tried to use this mod with no other mods except the surrender mod and it still won't show up in covert actions. Guessing the updates that fixed the duplication problem is causing the mission to not show up at all in the covert actions list.

This is conflicting with something (playing LWOTC with a LOT of mods). The prisoners are unresponsive in the cells after I open the door (even if i kill the 'surprise' -glitched?- advent troopers that spawn inside. I can't select them, can't move them, can't free them. I just have to leave (i've yet to try fragging them and reviving them lol). Has anyone found coding in "Rescue Soldier mission" or even in THIS mod itself so that there's no conflict? Thanks

How rare is this covert action supposed to be in comparison to the typical rescue mission? I played through an entire campaign and did have one soldier captured, but didn't get the mission once. Is this an exceptionally rare mission (ex. occurs once or twice a campaign)? And if yes, is this something I can change in the ini files?

Didn't work in LWOTC - once I freed the prisoners (and one of the two locks was buggy on the codebreaker) I could not interact with the prisoners at all.
