Haven't had time to test it, but it should be working No problem. It's an asset, not a mod. Updated usually only affects mods.
TurtleShroom 24 Jun, 2023 @ 4:18pm
Does this Mod work in the latest version of "Cities Skylines"? I DESPERATELY want this Mod to come back.

Hi, I do have mass transit dlc but people are reporting loading issues with network tiling. I'd like to use the version without the ferry paths but you wrote to use this one if we own the DLC... Can I still sub to the other one?
pebble 19 Dec, 2021 @ 9:08am
it dose not work on the non dlc one
Ganliard 8 Oct, 2021 @ 10:56am
Thanks! I'll let you know if that works
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 8 Oct, 2021 @ 10:34am
Hello Ganliard! I have created a version without Ferry Paths. I do hope that it will be of use to you, you can subscribe to it here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2622787753
Ganliard 6 Oct, 2021 @ 10:23am
It fails to load
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 5 Oct, 2021 @ 8:07am
Weird, the regular canals have ferry paths too and they don't need mass transit dlc. I haven't set it as a requirement. Are you sure its not available for you? Have you tried using "Find it!" mod?
Ganliard 4 Oct, 2021 @ 3:53am
So it could work without Mass Transit
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 29 Sep, 2021 @ 2:23pm
Hello @Ganliard! I could, but I don't think there is a need for it, at least from a gameplay standpoint reaching the node limit is a far more common issue than reaching the lane limit. What is the reason you would need this?

Hello @Goeffrey7000! Sorry but I don't think I can help you with that. If you have a steam version of the game all you have to do is subscribe to this mod and enable it in your mod manager in-game.

Hello @MaxFX! So sorry for the late reply, I had to be away for a while. I'm really glad you find my tiny canal network useful! Sadly I don't think I will make a detailed, dutch canal network but If you are interested in my personal method, I like to use retaining wall networks for decorated canals as seen in my other mod : "Canal Basin and Walls".
Ganliard 21 Sep, 2021 @ 7:38am
Could you perhaps make a version without the ferry pathways?
Geoffrey7000 27 Jul, 2021 @ 2:25am
How to install please :) ?
In which folder?

Hi Cpt.Roberto. First of all; Complements for this asset! It's awesome!!

Lately I'm trying to create the perfect city grid. As far as that's possible... One of the aspects of this grid is a high land value. This is where I use your asset for. When the canals are filled with water to the correct height it creates 16 cells (128 meters) of increased land value on both sides!

Using Quays in a grid is starting to annoy me because of the constant terrain height adjustments I have to do. Using your asset is like... 199.400 times easier!

The only thing I would like to change is their appearence.

I'm a complete numbskull when it comes to asset creation. But if it's relatively easy for you to do, would you be open to the creation of exactly the same asset, but one that looks more like the 'Dutch Canals' asset?

I've already tried the 'Dutch Canals'. They look great, but lack the desired dimensions and they do not raise the land value as much as your asset.

Hello norlin! Sadly, I don't know. It may be the problem. Altough it shouldn't require it, maybe steam or the game still flags it as a dlc by-pass because of the ferry pathway thats inside it. I tried to look into it, but couldn't find a solution yet
norlin.martin 22 Oct, 2020 @ 9:01am
Same trouble for me, it fails to load: asset report by loading screen mod says "failed" and shows it in red. I don't have mass transit, perhaps it's needed somehow after all?
CrazyBullet 16 Sep, 2020 @ 1:29am
@jetblade545 I report it as stolen so Valve can look into the matter
TurtleShroom 15 Sep, 2020 @ 4:00pm
It should DEFINITELY be under the Water Structures tab.
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 3 Aug, 2020 @ 1:55pm
It should. I have mass transit and it works fine for me. It has a ferry pathway in it, but it shouldn't be a requirement just like regular canals. I just tested it in a near vanilla game and as soon as I hit Tiny Town milestone it was unlocked for me. If it doesn't work for you you might have a corrupted download file. Maybe delete your assets folder and let Steam redownload your assets for you? Alternativly you might be subscribed to a conflicting mod, but I can't help you with that one. Try asking help on CitiesSkylinesModding reddit, there are some very smart people there who helped me out a lot in the past.
Ganliard 31 Jul, 2020 @ 1:39pm
But it just doesn't work, loading screen mod shows it in red. Does it work without Mass Transit?
markthered 31 Jul, 2020 @ 12:26pm
Really cool!! Do wish there had been a canal this size in the vanilla. Wondering how does the network tiling do?
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 31 Jul, 2020 @ 12:21pm
Hello Ganliard. Sorry, I can't help beyond whats written above in the description: for some reason it shows up in the pedestrian paths tab, not the waterstructure tab like the vanilla canals. I am subscribed to it too and I see it. If you have trouble finding it, use the Find It! mod mentioned in the descriptions. Otherwise it should act like any other canal, maybe unlock after "Tiny Town" milestone
Ganliard 30 Jul, 2020 @ 3:27am
Does it require a DLC perhaps?
Ganliard 29 Jul, 2020 @ 1:56am
It does not load for me
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 5 Jul, 2020 @ 5:17am
Thanks for letting me know MisoRamenSoup. I don't know why someone would do that, as well as what actions I can take, but I assume it was some sort of mistake
MisoRamenSoup 4 Jul, 2020 @ 9:09am
Think someone has r uploaded this asset. Listed as tinycanal
Intervene201 27 May, 2020 @ 5:39am
Hello there:)
The Tiny Canal Network is enabled and existing and my city population so far is around 20 000. But still the Canal network cannot be found :(
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 25 May, 2020 @ 5:54am
Wish I could help but it appears fine to me. Maybe a few things you could check:
-Does the Tiny Canals Network appears in the list of your subscribed assets under the Content Manager / Assets in the main menu? And if it does, is it Enabled?
-Most Canal networks are only unlocked after a certain population ("Tiny Town" numbers can differ by map) has your city reached that population yet?
Hope that helps!
Intervene201 24 May, 2020 @ 10:20pm
Hello there sir, I've also tried using the find it mod but still the Tiny canal cannot be found.
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 24 May, 2020 @ 7:34am
Hello zmodsomar. If its not showing up to you, or have trouble finding it, use the "Find It!" mod to search for it's name under networks. It's Tiny Canal
Intervene201 22 May, 2020 @ 7:51am
How can I find the Tiny Canal function? I'm having a tough time
mr.v 21 Mar, 2020 @ 10:20pm
It's canal but is in the "path" menu.
speedtraxxdj 4 Nov, 2019 @ 10:13am
Hello! Network Tiling I have installed!
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 4 Nov, 2019 @ 9:31am
Hello speddtraxxdj, I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunetly I couldn't reproduce the problem, I also use this uploaded version on my maps, and Loading Screen Mod and I'm subsribed to over 3000 assets and mods. Are you subscribed to network tiling? Maybe that helps: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1274199764

Mytwo Centsworth 12 Sep, 2019 @ 1:09pm
Do these canals work in the map editor, too? Or only in game?
Sakujo 13 Jul, 2019 @ 6:19am
Example how it could work: https://i.imgur.com/mudVj7z.jpg This time I removed most of the 0.001 ones and put down some regular 1% sources. The river is moving into the wrong direction because the lake is deeper than the river but at least it's not an half empty canal :)
Sakujo 13 Jul, 2019 @ 5:51am
You can manuelly type in 0.001 and usually after you did this twice you can create a water source that small. It's just a tiny bit wider than the tiny canal, allowing you to place it on top, in the middle, without it flooding your town. (in my other comment I added one zero too much, sry)
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 13 Jul, 2019 @ 1:23am
@Sakujo: That's a cool tip! I thought 0.01 (1%) is the smallest water source you can make! I will definetly try it if I run into trouble!
Sakujo 12 Jul, 2019 @ 7:23pm
Pro tip: If you have trouble getting the small canal to fil all the way til the end (because small terrain differences) you can use landscaping tool > water source > and manuelly type into the water source strength 0.0001 (so smaller than 0.00, you might need to repeat it til it sticks) than place as many small water sources along your canal as possible. Made my useless canal into a river again :)
Sp3ctre18 10 Jul, 2019 @ 6:03am
awesome, I never used canals because they were too wide for me
Cpt.Roberto  [author] 10 Jul, 2019 @ 5:53am
Thanks everyone! Thanks @Addage and @kjblank for your encouragement and I'm glad you like the endresult!
Addage 7 Jul, 2019 @ 4:33pm
Also been following on Reddit, thank you for making this
Robert 6 Jul, 2019 @ 11:10pm
Great idea!
kjblank 5 Jul, 2019 @ 1:13pm
Been following this on Reddit. Glad it's ready for use. Great work!
ruffi-ho 5 Jul, 2019 @ 12:48pm
great work
medafan 53 5 Jul, 2019 @ 10:17am
Now all we need is for them to add barges (cargo ferries)
Verullus Forgefire 5 Jul, 2019 @ 7:01am
Amazing, been waiting for this since the release of the canals.
