This mod is still running smoothly, and I believe it will continue to do so. Since it’s just a texture replacement mod, version updates won’t affect its functionality.

Hey there! Does this mod work with 3.12? BTW, great mod! Thank you for your work!
Lucifer Morningstar 2 mrt 2023 om 9:09
Okay, thanks you.
Lordlony 6 feb 2023 om 17:39
Yes
Lucifer Morningstar 5 feb 2023 om 20:57
Is this compatible with achievements?
Smooth Brain 10 sep 2022 om 1:15
Mod still works for 3.4.5
SBlack 4 jun 2022 om 6:34
It's just a graphics replacement. Still works as it is.
Andrew_The Golden 3 feb 2022 om 16:38
Will this mod be getting updated? :cozyspaceengineersb:

How i fixed Missing descriptor file.

Step 1: open Stellaris mod folder Location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\1822593513
(should be Beautified Gaia Worlds mod folder)

Step 2: Edit or create new File: descriptor.mod (i used notepad++)

name="Beautified Gaia Worlds"
tags={
"Graphics"
}
picture="better_gaia_thumb.jpg"
supported_version="3.1.2"
remote_file_id="1822593513"

Step 3: save as descriptor.mod

Step 4: Open new folder Location.
C:\Users\**User Name Here**\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod

Step 5: Edit or create file: ugc_1822593513.mod (i had to create a new file)

name="Beautified Gaia Worlds"
tags={
"Graphics"
}
picture="better_gaia_thumb.jpg"
supported_version="3.1.2"
path="C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/281990/1822593513"
remote_file_id="1822593513"

Step 6: Save as ugc_1822593513.mod

after doing all of this mod finally worked for me.

@solarflare-603 - That's great to know! I hadn't been able to pinpoint further errors on my end, so it's good to hear that it's working now! Glad you're enjoying the mod!
SolarFlare-603 12 aug 2021 om 13:21
Two months after unsubbing/resubbing, its finally working with the descriptor file thing. Guess it was a temporary error in my own system, so I apologize for the inconvience lol
SolarFlare-603 1 jun 2021 om 14:10
oddly enough it still gave me the error, perhaps due to the 3.03 update?
BlizzardV15  [auteur] 7 mei 2021 om 23:42
@solarflare-603 - hopefully that should be updated with the descriptor file now!
SolarFlare-603 29 apr 2021 om 15:07
specifically, the descriptor file is gone- at least according to the error message
SolarFlare-603 29 apr 2021 om 14:57
thank you for the help! I'll try it out when I can, hopefully all goes well
Kingdark 22 apr 2021 om 11:59
@solarflare-603 try verifying your files and sub and unsubscribing a random mod to get it to check its files. Alternatively, Navigate to the folder where your mods are downloaded, delete everything and then have it verify files. That will cause it to re-download everything.
SolarFlare-603 18 apr 2021 om 10:15
For some reason, despite having subscribed, the mod is entirely absent in the mod-folder. I would like to ask if there is any possible cause, or if I'm just not looking hard enough?
LNSS 3 mrt 2021 om 13:28
very humanocentric mod tbh
SolarFlare-603 27 dec 2020 om 9:41
and to add on to my previous comment, I tried updating the mod manually in Notepad text editor, and the version continued reverting to 2.3.3.
SolarFlare-603 27 dec 2020 om 6:58
Could this be updated for 2.6-2.8
Driven_by_Apathy 10 nov 2020 om 1:53
This mod was much needed. The vanilla Gaia texture is ugly as sin, to the point where it was half the reason I never took the world shaper perk in any of my games.

Is there any chance we could get a version of this for the Eco-Arcology worlds from the Planetary Diversity - More Arcologies mod?
Ameoba 5 okt 2020 om 19:14
paradox did u go to art class? or did this guy do it better
epicgamer 12 jun 2020 om 9:58
thanks for this mod! as everyone else said, the gaia worlds looked odd. brown terrain looked lifeless, oceans looked like people spilled toxic waste into them, etc.
AuntySocialQueen 31 mrt 2020 om 14:40
@Swaze21 You can do it yourself. Go into your mods folder and change the version number to 2.6.*
Swaze21 17 mrt 2020 om 18:42
when are you going to update the mod
Big Boss 2 okt 2019 om 14:00
love it :steamhappy:
leonnolan 19 aug 2019 om 23:59
But I want to keep Namek. :P
xeleth12 9 aug 2019 om 7:17
I've never been bothered by the look of Gaia worlds as they looked unique and alien. Now this just makes them look like a shiny continental world. Not for me.
Joshbert 8 aug 2019 om 8:04
You should visit a doctor Racist. I think you have salmonella.
Katini 7 aug 2019 om 12:21
Gaia worlds no longer look like they came out of my anus 10/10
BlizzardV15  [auteur] 6 aug 2019 om 22:26
Thanks again to all who've left such kind words about this mod - I'm glad to have been of service!

I'm going to be away from Steam for a little while, but will happily address any bugs or questions when I return.

The crystal blue caribbean style waters are so much better. The old Gaia worlds did look odd/toxic. Thanks!
BlizzardV15  [auteur] 6 aug 2019 om 2:47
Sirmanost - I've just checked, and it should be!
Journeyman Prime 6 aug 2019 om 2:22
@OldSkies Totally

Hi! Ironman?
Lavoroxan 6 aug 2019 om 0:40
Why does the description of this mod seem like a poem.
Vumpalouska 5 aug 2019 om 3:34
Could be a mod conflict with Guilli's Planet Modifiers or Legendary Worlds. Can't really test it myself because deactivating either mod would totally break my current game.
BlizzardV15  [auteur] 5 aug 2019 om 2:03
Thanks all for the wonderful feedback!

Vumpalouska - how odd! I've tried replicating the bug and have been able to view the texture just fine for terraformed Gaia worlds, both in normal gameplay and by giving myself the requisite techs using the console. Might there be a mod conflict at play here?
JenkoRun 5 aug 2019 om 0:40
We should pester PDX on the forums to integrate this into Vanilla.
Vumpalouska 4 aug 2019 om 16:12
And odd bug: when I terraform a planet into a gaia world, it gains the vanilla gaia texture - the only way I can see this texture in game is if I use the planet_class console command to change a planet into a gaia world.
Vumpalouska 3 aug 2019 om 23:39
Oh yeah. I always thought the green oceans of vanilla Gaia Worlds looked like they were infested by algae. This is much better. Thank you.
The Destroyer of Worlds 3 aug 2019 om 14:32
Its been years for me looking for this kind of mod... .turns out im not the only one to think the gaia texture is odd.
The Destroyer of Worlds 3 aug 2019 om 14:31
Finally.....
Nordgeez 3 aug 2019 om 8:29
The simplest of mods can also be really good.
BlizzardV15  [auteur] 3 aug 2019 om 0:16
Captain Karzak & Nordgeez: Thank you both very much! I always found their appearance a little odd - I'm glad this little edit has been useful to you!
Captain Karzak 2 aug 2019 om 21:36
Thank you very much for making this mod. It really is a big improvement to the appearance of Gaia worlds.
Nordgeez 2 aug 2019 om 6:04
The old texture of Gaia worlds was indeed very odd looking. Thanks for this mod!
