For various reasons, I cant and I wont do any more on this route. Lets just say ive had something of a falling out with the developers of Trainsim (or so it seems, im somewhat in the dark here) and leave it at that. I hope you all continue to have fun with it, because I put a great deal of work into it, on this and many other routes. You at least seem to appreciate it, im glad somebody does.

Now your route crashes at Carlisle, it seems there is vertex buffer error in the AP version of SC_track01.bin (concrete mainline track) The RSC original loads and looks OK.
But since your Carlisle track layout is different from the RSC original steam era route, there could also be an error in the track geometry somewhere?
Actually, it was largely done by me, without bragging. I was on the team that built the original route back in 2012. I laid everything from Settle Junction to Kirby Stephen. Seems a lifetime ago now.
You should be able to clone the route and use the cloned version to create a new version I reckon, so it should be doable... :)
Added to the problems people have with it, it seems as if there is little possiblity of doing anything with it.
I was really hoping a dev at some point would pick up on it, and support carrying it further, at least to Bradford, preferably to Leeds. But nobody is interested, so im afraid thats probably it. I do map work for the devs of trainsim now, that takes up much of my time when ive got a contract on the go.
Im sorry guys, but these things happen. If you want to see it done further, write polite letters to the devs saying 'do a modern or historic version of this'. Id be delighted to do it.
I just thought that because im literally terrible at making scanario`s, TS is always so stubborn.
I dont see the problem. There is a mode where you can select the route and the locomotive so you shouldnt need to make any scenarios.
I wish DTG would just leave shit alone.
My guess is, something changed in TS that makes handling a particular (new?) asset in the Carlisle scenery an issue now. Have no idea what could be since I can't even open any scenario that starts in Carlisle or travel there. It crashes opening or as soon as I get too close (around 2-3 miles away right after I pass the last abandoned station) to Carlisle and the game tries to load the scenery.
The only suggestion I can make is after uninstalling the route, physically delete the asset pack for the route, and delete the folder that contained the route (you would have to check via the editor). Then reinstall, and double check when you reinstalled the route you get it all by doing a verify game option via steam.
Has anyone tried to see whether this problem is occuring with the standard route in Settle? Which would imply DTG have messed up some assets in an update.
Think that one is on Youtube. There are also a couple of really good railtour footage films taken from the cab of a DMU in the 1980's, that was really useful for placing signals.
I have a VHS tape called Steam on the Settle & Carlisle (Border Television, 1983) and while it's focused on steam railtours, it does talk about the state of the line. Of course they were trying to stealth close the line then. It's actually rather interesting for scenarios.
Yeah, BR had a lot of weird ideas at the time. Most of these stations were shut, but were open for railtours and I think rambler trips IIRC. I originally was going to kill all the platforms, till it turn out that whilst closed, they were still being used.
There is a really great video on youtube that illustrates the run down but still operating nature of the line. It languished like this for about 20 years with BR trying to close it entirely, and eventually being thwarted.

The only other thing I can suggest is verifying your trainsim installation, and seeing if it installed all the files.
I really must do some scenarios for it, time as always has got in the way.
There isnt much I can do if there is a problem im afraid, the route is finished and im locked out now. It certainly did work though.
