It's a purely decorative prop for detailing railyards. No actual function.

Would be nice to see a video of this in action. Not sure what it does or how. Yes, I guess it switches trains onto sidings or other track, but a video would be helpful. Also don't know why I would want it on a North American map. Thanks.
