The particle effects of leaves or something blowing go ahead the wind on this planet. Clouds and grass moving one way and the particle effects the other. Anyone else having this issue?
NorthyPark  [author] 16 Nov, 2024 @ 11:41am
Phew, alright I figured out what went wrong! Right before I uploaded the update, I was messing around a bit with the Water variants height map, but hit Ctrl+Z one to many times and it deleted part of the height map!
A fix will come out shortly, along with some new improved weather effects!
NorthyPark  [author] 16 Nov, 2024 @ 11:17am
Huh, strange. It was working for me before I uploaded the update. Will take another look at it now!
Aurora System 16 Nov, 2024 @ 11:13am
I've just gotten this issue too, I spawned the water mod variant in with RSS and the planet was just an endless ocean without any landmass (or an ocean floor from what I could tell with my brief look using spectator)
I tried spawning the ice and regular variants in and they seemed to be fine?
NorthyPark  [author] 16 Nov, 2024 @ 2:58am
Wait what? Was this in an existing world? And what variant of the planet was it?
I haven't had any problems like that myself, so please share any more info if you have it
R3DR3AP3R9 15 Nov, 2024 @ 7:37pm
It appears to be just a water planet with no landmasses at all after the recent update. Tried disabling all other mods just to be sure, but alas...
NorthyPark  [author] 15 Nov, 2024 @ 12:59pm
Real Solar System support added!
Its all baked into this mod, so all you need to do is spawn any variant with the solar system editor
miku567 12 Nov, 2024 @ 11:43am
nice :selike:
NorthyPark  [author] 12 Nov, 2024 @ 8:18am
that is one of the reason I fixed this version, cause I have plans for that
miku567 11 Nov, 2024 @ 4:57pm
Can you make a proxy for this planet so that it will work with Real Solar Systems mod?
NorthyPark  [author] 6 Nov, 2024 @ 4:57pm
Took me a while to get around to fixing it, but an update is here!

- Added support for the new planetary encounters. Stations and wrecks will spawn on land, while wrecks will spawn underwater (Water mod version only)
- Fixed the Graphic driver crash when spawning the water mod version
- Updated the water settings (Waves speed and height, water colors and more)
a_person 28 Apr, 2024 @ 1:03am
can confirm that dover water crashes graphics card instantly upon spawning it
Grand Inquisitor 27 Oct, 2023 @ 4:29pm
Can i reupload an unlisted version of this planet for a server I am working on, I want to change the ores
VS-lockon 8 May, 2023 @ 12:25pm
ya it broken my game said gpu over heating one place this planet down but my gpu is at 20c what
NorthyPark  [author] 11 Mar, 2023 @ 4:10am
Hm, I haven't tested it in a long time so it might have broken. If I have time I might take a look at it, but until then avoid using the water mod variant.
Smokin' Joe Rudeboy 10 Mar, 2023 @ 10:30pm
I'm having the same issue as Goatroach. Tried to spawn with water mod at both 120km and 100km
Goatroach 3 Nov, 2022 @ 2:49pm
Seems Dover-Water causes the game to crash when building a star system with Star System Generator, with or without water mod active. Not sure why. I even disabled all my plugins. Seems I can generate stuff as long as I don't try to add Dover-Water to the list.

Any idea why this is causing the game to crash? I was setting the planet size to 120 Km as suggested.

Maybe, this could help.
NorthyPark  [author] 30 Jun, 2022 @ 8:20am
For the first question, yeah as long as you have a link back here.
And for the second one, hmm that is strange. I havent really looked at this in a while, so something might have changed
Sargonnas 29 Jun, 2022 @ 9:44pm
Also have you every encountered an issue where the Ice Texture shows as stone but mines as ice. It seems to be ignoring your custom texture :(
Sargonnas 29 Jun, 2022 @ 9:42pm
Hey NorthyPark. Would you mind If I added this planet to my Servers Mod pack and just change the ore maps. I would give you credit in the description of the servers planet mod pack and a link back to this mod. :)
NorthyPark  [author] 5 Nov, 2021 @ 6:14am
yeah sure mate! All I ask is a link to this post and if possible, keep it unlisted. They still work fine for hosting even if they are unlisted.
Rip 3 Nov, 2021 @ 5:49pm
I run a quickly growing Star Wars RP server, and we would like to make some modifications to this mod including renaming it in the game to be lore appropriate, and adjusting some of the ore spawns. Hoping to get your permission to do this, if you would like further details about the community feel free to reach out. Thanks for your time!
NorthyPark  [author] 28 Sep, 2021 @ 11:07am
As all my planets and Doctors planets, there arent any visible ore spots. this is done on purpose and as the text above says, the ore does not spawn under the ice (but it does spawn under water in the water version)
⚪🌌๒єภչ๏✨⚪ 28 Sep, 2021 @ 10:12am
where are the ores did u do the map for it or jsut the text file cant seem to find ores only on rocks on the planet ?
NorthyPark  [author] 18 Jun, 2021 @ 5:25am
yeah I noticed that when playing on that map a little while ago haha. I have some time off now, so maybe I can throw together a IO compatible version / patch
Viper 17 Jun, 2021 @ 10:12am
I, for one, will immediately take advantage of any I.O.-compatible planets. AFAIK, there is currently a whopping ONE in the entire workshop, and he screwed it up and forgot an entire basic ore, Silicon. Which adds a unique, if unintended, challenge.

NorthyPark  [author] 30 Apr, 2021 @ 5:15am
yeah sadly, modded planets needs to be patched to support new ores, like the ones from Industrial Overhaul.
However, I am planing on making a patch (which you load before the original mod) to make my weapon mods support IO, so while I am at it, I can make a patch for my planets as well.
TongueClamp 29 Apr, 2021 @ 3:53pm
We cant seem to find titanium, baux, or copper. have been flying around with ore dectector all over, finding lots of gold, silver and even uranium, but not a single deposit of those others?

are they somewhere strange im not thinking of looking? i must have covered 200 square km and found nothing
NorthyPark  [author] 20 Apr, 2021 @ 1:35pm
Np, glad you like it :)
Black Tortoise 20 Apr, 2021 @ 1:26pm
Thanks so much for the reply, that all very helpful to know! Confirms that two things I thought were a bug on my server are intended features, and Im down with that. I am also o.k. with there being a preference for large grid ore detectors, as long as the ore is there! I simply hadnt tried it with a lg yet.

I am so happy to keep this planet on my server, its my favorite of all the modded planets in the workshop so far. Thanks again!
NorthyPark  [author] 20 Apr, 2021 @ 7:44am
That is by design. Imo ore spots looks horrible, and makes it a bit to easy. Like my other planes and all of Doctor Octoganapus's planets, you need to make a craft with a ore detector on it and drive/fly close to the ground and look out for any signals.
I recommend in vanilla making a small grid ship with a small rotor and removing the head, placing a large rotor head above and connecting them together, then building a large grid ore detector on that.
Or you could add a buffed ore detector mod, I usually run 150m small grid and 300 large grid

For the surface ore rocks, in vanilla they too are quite good as you can simply spot one, fly over to it with your jetpack, check the ore and fly to the next one. I added the larger and smaller variants of these rocks to the planet mostly for some diversity, and to nerf the regular ore rocks a bit. Yes its harder to find rocks with ore in it, but they have a chance to spawn with higher tier ores along with uranium to balance it a bit out.
Black Tortoise 19 Apr, 2021 @ 6:34pm
So, does anyone have an inclination as to the ore distribution on the planet?

After pasting it into my server's world, Ive done a few scans for ore with either the elite hand drill or a small grid ore detector. Ive found very little ores in the soil, and theyre deep, and very far apart. I have not yet found iron or nickel in the soil, but have found silicon and silver.

The ore-rocks on the surface are almost always just lumps of stone (which I think is simply a performance loss, since stone is hardly valuable). Sometimes they have ores, though its uncommon. I have found all of the ores in these stones over time, including uranium. However, between my light (yet adequate for other planets) ore hunting and surface-stone examination, I have not found enough ore to sustain a player on this planet.

Additionally, there are no marks on the surface to reveal ore anywhere.

Is there an ore map available? Is there a way to know if I have a bug that can be fixed?
VS-lockon 27 Mar, 2021 @ 4:43am
umm is there wather
NorthyPark  [author] 9 Mar, 2021 @ 11:32am
Yeah that should be fine. All I ask for is a link back to this page :)
Rhasmoth 8 Mar, 2021 @ 7:07pm
Echoing Tortoise's thanks. :) You mind me adding one of your versions to a scenario mod I'm putting together? I've added More Stone Types (Deep Ores) and Shale Oil with a few other custom planets whose authors gave permission. Trying to showcase the mod community's work, and Dover really was one of my favorite for ages.
NorthyPark  [author] 13 Feb, 2021 @ 10:22am
No problem! glad you like it
Black Tortoise 12 Feb, 2021 @ 7:46pm
Thanks for this mod / republication - its a gorgeous planet, and I am gonna add it to my dedicated server this weekend!
NorthyPark  [author] 10 Feb, 2021 @ 5:41pm
The update has been released
NorthyPark  [author] 10 Feb, 2021 @ 4:30pm
damn, thats extremely strange haha. oh well, I will release a version with a more standard like ice, but its a bit better than the vanilla ice.
Also, a water version will come with the next update! I had some time, so I just tried my hand at editing the height map to work with water.
Viper 10 Feb, 2021 @ 4:18pm
All my settings are at high.

And I know what you mean by some angles turning black, when you're at ground level and look at the horizon for example, it's kind of buggy, but this is different. It's like your ice texture has no texture but only a normal map, so I get reflectivity but no actual ice texture at all. I get this same exact issue with various planets but not all the time, and I even test all my planets on fresh restarts of the game and shadercache deleted and only that planet in the modlist.

I just tested Elysium alongside other mods which has always had the problem for me, and for some reason, suddenly Elysium ice looks correct. But with Elysium all by itself in the modlist, it becomes the black mirror. Some mod interaction is somehow FIXING the problem that exists when it's all by itself?

So then I tried that approach with with Dover, but no success. lol

I dunno man, I haven't been able to get a handle on these planet problems. I'm pretty baffled.
NorthyPark  [author] 10 Feb, 2021 @ 9:16am
Also, I noticed that the ice shading might not work correctly when on low or medium shader settings. so setting that to high might help
NorthyPark  [author] 10 Feb, 2021 @ 8:54am
I know from some angles the ice texture turn black, but for the most part it works for me. I have considered to make a alternate dover with a more regular type of ice texture. It will be in this mod, so no need to sub to a new one and it should not make the file size that much larger. If i get time, I will do it this week
Viper 10 Feb, 2021 @ 4:20am
I was able to cause some sort of incompatibility with another planet mod that caused all your water and coastline to become stone, but no matter what I can't seem to get Dover to look correct. The water lacks a texture and is just a pure reflective surface. Even from space it's like looking into a clear mirror reflecting my skybox.
Viper 9 Feb, 2021 @ 5:10pm
well, i ran a controlled test between this and planet 26 and there was no change on Dover whether or not Planet 26 was in the modlist or spawned.

However, in all tests, the ice/water on Dover seemed to lack a texture. It was nearly perfectly reflective making depth perception mostly impossible. It appeared that it still had at least a normal map layer that was functioning and provided *some* variability in the reflection but it was like the intended texture itself was missing or transparent.
Viper 9 Feb, 2021 @ 3:25pm
hmm, alright. Well, I will remove Planet 26 from my server and then re-test a lot of the other planets which i previously thought were bugged and was sad when they didn't work right. Thanks
NorthyPark  [author] 9 Feb, 2021 @ 9:04am
yeah I noticed that problem. I asked the dev of planet 26, but I never got a concrete answer. It does not only conflict with Dover, but with most planets from Doctor octoganapus which is strange.
Viper 9 Feb, 2021 @ 6:43am
Northy can you explain the Planet 26 conflict in more detail? I am using Planet 26 in my world and I have also experienced issues with various planets but I never connected the two - what do you know that I don't?
