I know this character isn't being updated anymore, but I found that the AI doesn't recover properly with FSpecial, leading to easy KOs if you knock her off the stage by enough distance. I have tweaked the code locally in my downloaded folder and the recovery is fixed now. Replace ai_update with this the new code just presses the special button and avoids cancelling the recovery.

While experimenting with the "Custom WS Alts Buddy" by VMan_2002, I discovered that the current colors for Lilac's yellows in the color script is incorrect. This causes it's recoloring to not work.

The current range is:
set_color_profile_slot_range(2, 2, 14, 20);

But it should actually be:
set_color_profile_slot_range(2, 2, 49, 35);

Just changing this in the color script fixed it for me. Idk if you still care about maintaining Lilac, just thought I'd let you know.

What I will say is only about this page. Canonically, Sash Lilac is not her full name anymore It has been confirmed by the creator of Freedom Planet that Sash the Hedgehog and Lilac the Dragon are different characters. They were once considered one and the same, but not anymore.

I suggest to make her sprites as size as sonic and make all her sprites and potrait looks more belong to roa (add black outline to her sprites, better potrait for css and result screen, etc.). Its's still nice somehow. Thx btw.

Awesome work, I'm so glad to see that this is a thing. Only thing I'd suggest is making her UStrong a multi-hit, like in her game, and having it rise just a bit higher. All in all, a ton of fun!

1 - You do have a point

2 - The reason why it cancels into cyclone is simply because it's her double jump. On the ground it does her normal jump. And I really enjoy the dash->cyclone transition for some reason :P

3 - Honestly I haven't played Freedom Planet in a while and forgot how it worked, thought it bounced on every wall. But the accidentally killing yourself was sort of intended as an added risk :steamhappy:
You can pretty much recover from anywhere using that dash (while having super armor, mind you) so I thought there should at least be some risk of using it.
Also you can always stop the dash by pressing special again, which leads you to pratfall. I should probably write that somewhere...

I'm thinking of making it continue horizontally when hitting the floor as it works in the game, and maybe do a walljump instead of bouncing when hitting a wall if you're holding the jump button.

A few ideas on how to improve Side-B:
-Lilac can't go directly up or down with dragon boost in Freedom Planet, so why can she here?, might be better for her to only do sides and diagonals. Just something to consider.
-instead of doing a cyclone when jumping from a Dragon Boost, how about make her do a jump that creates a spark, like in FP2? This also plays into the next idea:
-instead of bouncing off the walls wildly with Dragon Boost, why not make it so collision with a wall makes her automatically jump and create the shockwave? Collision with ceilings or the ground can still make her bounce though. (mostly bringing this up because 1. this is roughly how it works in Freedom Planet and 2. it's a little too easy to accidentally kill yourself with the bounce, even with the ability to "brake" with a jump)

@Thiricola The hair is drawn separate from the character and those dont show up in playtesting.
(Now if it's also not working inside a match, then something went very wrong)

About the sprites however, unless someone else does a better job, they're pretty much staying that way. Sprites aren't my thing :steamhappy:

Even though those are some CRUSTY sprites...
This is a nearly PERFECT adaptation of Lilac.
My only problem is that the dragon dash defaults right for some reason and not the one you're facing. You can aim it, but it's so disorienting if you're used to how it works in freedom planet.

Mostly two reasons:
1 - Since no character actually says anything during a game I thought adding voicelines for cyclone or other things would end up feeling odd.
2 - Procrastination
I still want to change fspecial's sound and add a voice for the taunt (which I could have done by now but oh well)

her down b seems kinda toxic. Knock your opponent off, heal for 15%, kill them, another 15%, big stage and you disengage, another 15%. Seems really win more and really frustrating

Oh man, was just about to do Lilac myself but you beat me to the punch. As the workshop feature has barley been out i didn't expect much but it's great so far. It's definlty kinda rough but it has about what I was thinking that lilac should work in the game.
