Does this work?
Legofingerz 25 Jan, 2022 @ 2:21pm
Hi, love this road set, but it might have been broken somehow, it appears the LOD have become bugged and its causing a lot of black sections and corrupt LODs on other networks.

Ive been through all my mods and assets today 100+ mods and around 4000 assets. Took the whole day and this was one of the last ones downloaded, so I can confirm this network is causing the issue at least in correlation with some other mod which used to play nice.

I would love one way versions of this, 2 lane, 4 lane and possibly 6 lane versions would be amazing.
Sasquatch 27 Nov, 2020 @ 2:57pm
I like the idea, but I do wish it was more compact. I could do without the bus lane and wide median. It could really be an ordinary 2-lane with the added shoulder.

Not needed if you use other lights.
TurtleShroom 26 Sep, 2020 @ 8:13am
What about the Obsolete Modern Lighting? Do I need that?
whisperwalk  [author] 25 Sep, 2020 @ 10:54pm
Huh, no idea, must have been a misclick. It's not needed.
TurtleShroom 25 Sep, 2020 @ 10:11pm
Why do I need the Network Skins Mod?
Frosty 12 Sep, 2020 @ 5:34am
road is very nice but i dont see any of truck using side road that are supposed to lead them to factory
MadGax 1 Jun, 2020 @ 12:15pm
I like the fact that trucks pull of the side of the road, but a one way road would work a whole lot better. Also the fact that there is no turning lane or u-turns is problematic, IMO.
You can achieve the same thing if you place a road that is one square too big, place your building, then replace the road with a smaller one. As long as it is only one square away it will still stay connected and traffic can access it.
I appreciate the effort and still give a thumbs up, as it appears to work well for others.

@vvilku Road Maintenance tab, should be there?
vvilku 28 Mar, 2020 @ 11:55am
Is there any way to have them in the road menu, and not have to use Find It ?
Oldhip 22 Mar, 2020 @ 4:13pm
This keeps failing to load for me.
whisperwalk  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 5:49pm
Perhaps in February I will start doing.
AvalonMist 14 Jan, 2020 @ 9:02am
Fantastic Roads they truly are, I do however have a suggestion. Most well designed industries in this game utilize one way roads. Is there any chance you would be willing to do one way versions? Many thanks in advance.
whisperwalk  [author] 26 Dec, 2019 @ 8:50pm
Ok, i changed it
Drefar 26 Dec, 2019 @ 11:10am
maybe make a new youtube video because it seems like a janky move to see old footage with that wrong bus stop and walk paths that have a Lip you can fall over XD
Arimember 23 Dec, 2019 @ 4:21pm
very nice mod, thx for making that. Will use it to spice up my life.
Also nice music in the vid. Who are they?
Patient 12 Dec, 2019 @ 12:13am
Oh okay! Thanks for the clarification! And I agree it does look good! I just wanted to make sure that there was not a reason, not to use 32m, for the half width, if that makes any sense haha.
OH man your three part series is awesome thank you so much for sending me that! I actually did read through that cslmodding.info guide and I was able to make sense of it but it seems to barely scratch the surface.
whisperwalk  [author] 11 Dec, 2019 @ 11:47pm
There is no special reason it is not 32m but the factory roads was one of my earliest assets and the base model was this weird number and I did not change the base model. Since I won't have time to touch this project again for a long time, and it already looks good, and a few thousand people are using the current road size, it will remain at this size.
whisperwalk  [author] 11 Dec, 2019 @ 11:40pm
You can use a "Network Dump" option if you like (see Part 1), or if you want the source files from me directly, which is simpler, just add me on steam and I'll send them to you.
whisperwalk  [author] 11 Dec, 2019 @ 11:39pm
Heya. If you want guides for designing networks, have a look at my Three Part series . I will add more parts in the future. They are designed to explain things much clearer to new users than overly technical guides like cslmodding.info, etc. Also, many things in the official road creation wikis are just wrong.
Patient 11 Dec, 2019 @ 3:10am
Hi whisperwalk sorry to bug you again. I've been looking up info and guides on how to design networks for cities skylines as I want to try my hand at making one of my own with the road editor. I love the look of yours and wanted to make something similar (with the utility poles in the centre and the wide curb for trailers.) But obviously I want to do it from scratch so as not to copy your work! One thing I wanted to ask you was, if there was a special reason why you didn't go for an even 32 for the half-width of your roads? Does it have something to do with the pedestrian lane being in the middle? Many thanks
whisperwalk  [author] 1 Dec, 2019 @ 1:44am
Likewise you dont need Industries DLC to use this road pack, but it works really well for the heavy traffic anticipated from Industries DLC.
whisperwalk  [author] 1 Dec, 2019 @ 1:42am
I dont own any DLC so no trams. Also i dont want my asset to be DLC-only.

Oh excellent thank you :)
whisperwalk  [author] 25 Nov, 2019 @ 7:01am
They appear under "Road Maintenance" tab, which is its own class of roads next to toll booths. Network Skins 2 isn't a dependency, just a way to further customize the road.
Patient 25 Nov, 2019 @ 6:18am
4. I did a "verify integrity of game files" for Cities Skylines and it came back saying "all files successfully validated".

5. I tried unsubscribing and re-subscribing to Modern Lighting and Big Fat Industry Roads and the same issue persists :(

Any idea as to what I should try next?
Many thanks
Patient 25 Nov, 2019 @ 6:17am
Hey sorry to bother you! I love the look of these roads and wanted to use them with my cargo hub. But I'm having some issues using them, namely I can't find them listed in my content manager, or while in game. I suspect it is the Steam Workshop be wonky but I can't figure out how to fix it and was wondering if you had any advice?

1. I subscribed to Networks Skins 2, enabled it from the content manager, and made sure to disable Parallel Road Tool because that mod is currently not compatible with NS 2.
2. I was already subscribed to Bushy Grass and it is working, appears in game and content manager.

3. The Steam Workshop says I am subscribed to Modern Lighting Pack Liberated and Big Fat Industry Roads, but then when I launch the game and go to my content manager, Modern Lighting isn't listed in my mods so I can't enable it and Big Fat Industry Roads isn't listed in my assets.
whisperwalk  [author] 4 Nov, 2019 @ 10:39pm
@crycease Having a four lane 1 way is not compatible with medians. Cars will be clipping through the middle when changing lanes.

What i could do, is a three lane, 1 way, and it'll be significantly narrower.
whisperwalk  [author] 4 Nov, 2019 @ 10:21pm
To implement this feature you'd need an "industrial park", one you can overlay on the road. I might do one but i need some ideas of how it should look like.
Drefar 4 Nov, 2019 @ 10:55am
I think it would be interesting if you could make a road that randomly stops people so it seems like they are looking around or thinking about where to go or maybe having a chat on the walk way.
Crycease 4 Nov, 2019 @ 9:12am
just the exact same roads with all four lanes pointing the same direction would be nice. But of course any other variation you could come up might be interesting too!
whisperwalk  [author] 4 Nov, 2019 @ 8:57am
I can, but do you want these exact same roads, just four lanes pointing in one direction, or something else?
Crycease 4 Nov, 2019 @ 8:48am
sorry for the double comment, but could you also possibly make one-way versions of these as well? Thank you!
Crycease 4 Nov, 2019 @ 8:46am
That's great to hear! Will try it out.

Re: power lines, I typically swap out your utility poles with different avenue lamp posts. Just hoping there won't be mandatory power lines in between lampposts if ever. Hehe.
whisperwalk  [author] 4 Nov, 2019 @ 5:19am
T-Junctions and transitions to normal roads have been fixed. The only road still on the old model is Concrete, which is going its own way.

I'll be thinking about the powerlines next.
whisperwalk  [author] 3 Nov, 2019 @ 11:43pm
I've figured out how to solve the transition issues to normal roads and T junctions! The pilot test was a success - now comes the hard work of rolling out the Junction Fix to all five roads. Update will be incoming within this week. Also, I will roll out some new Icons.
whisperwalk  [author] 29 Oct, 2019 @ 4:24am
Yes, but it'll need some time to figure out.
Crycease 29 Oct, 2019 @ 3:35am
I was real excited for this, unfortunately the side textures glitch out at 90 degree junctions. Is there a way to workaround this?
whisperwalk  [author] 28 Oct, 2019 @ 9:57am
Concrete and Rural have been updated to the 3.5m lane standard. Concrete looks exactly the same; except the nearly invisible tyre marks have moved.

Rural has some new road markings and more grass. It is designed to transition to gravel roads rather than regular roads.
whisperwalk  [author] 28 Oct, 2019 @ 12:50am
Tarmac has been updated the new wider 3.5m lanes. It is a little less black than before, so that it can blend better to regular roads. You can still make it jet black with Network Skins 2.

Tarmac has pure white road markings to distinguish from Rocky and Asphalt (which use different mixes of white and yellow).

Concrete and Rural will also be updated to the new standard, but will remain minimalist and plain.
FOXXUBUS 27 Oct, 2019 @ 5:55am
Thank you for you hard work. I'm so happy with this asset pack :cozyspaceengineersc:
whisperwalk  [author] 25 Oct, 2019 @ 12:15pm
The new Rocky Gray and Asphalt roads are ready! Rocky Gray is specially designed for Ore Industry, with a coarse, unpolished look, grainy rocks, and even blows dust into the air.

Junctions are never going to line up 100%, but it renders much better now, especially cross junctions. T Intersections are now able to tender without the stretch effect. Transitions to "normal" roads look good now tho it's a bit quirky.
whisperwalk  [author] 24 Oct, 2019 @ 11:56pm
The amount of work a single road requires is quite crazy. You'd think skylines' would make it easier to paint a basically flat surface, but nope, they make it super hard. I suspect some of the tougher issues cant even be resolved without delving into 3D modelling. Which is a large can of worms.

The lanes i can adjust. They have the bare minimum 2.5m needed to not collide with other trucks. Standard roads tend to be 3m and highways 4m. I just dont want to take up space that could block a truck.

I'll upload new textures for asphalt and rocky gray by today.
Cazgem 24 Oct, 2019 @ 6:03pm
I would assume so! Your roads are complex, and therefore require a more "personal touch" when detailing those connection points. I myself am not an asset creator so I cannot be 100% sure on how to do this.

The lanes seem a tad on the small side when I zoom in and watch the trucks. It seems that their sideview mirrors would collide but maybe that's just a me thing. I'm weird. :P
whisperwalk  [author] 24 Oct, 2019 @ 7:40am
It can be done but texturing nodes is a pain in the ass. Especially when your texture has any details in it. Vanilla roads get away with murder because they only use single colors. What do you think about Tarmac? It has a much more basic, therefore smoother junction.

The lanes currently fit the trucks, just about. Do you mean it has to be wider or something?

I will look into electricity that is something I didn't think of.
Cazgem 24 Oct, 2019 @ 6:56am
Also, for the "rocky gray" I would LOVE that to stay and be tweaked a bit more for the ore industry. Just a builder's dream, but something for you to consider. :)
Cazgem 24 Oct, 2019 @ 6:53am
@whisperwalk

I think this asset has a good deal of potential, for sure! This is an asset that I didn't know I needed until I found it. You need more support on this! Keep perfecting/tweaking it. :)

I'm always happy to give a good shoutout to assets I find that are, in my opinion, worth while/have great potential in my cities AND others. Let me know if/when any updates come and I'll give them a lookover in my city. :)

My tweaks I'd like (in text format):
1) fix the lanes to better "fit" the trucks.
2) The road transitions are scary to look at and gave me nightmares last night. o.o
3) the T intersections are a bit wonky, even using just these roads. The texture gets all squished and grainy.
4) (dreaming here): Maybe the power poles function and have wires between them? That would make this an amazeballs asset anyone who likes industry would love. :)
