F-Special is completely useless if she doesn't stop when she meets an opponent, pretty useless move, meh, unfinished char, nice waifu tho lol.

Ah, thats cool! I would look into other character mods though, I stopped working on this. I was doing this while I was looking for a job and ran into a coding roadblock (I was completely new to this sort of stuff when I worked on it). I don't have plans to return on working with it anytime soon and there are a lot of other creative touhou character mods out there friend!

Its not a big deal since their isn't too many people commenting. I get on steam a lot, so feel free to post comments and I'll back to them when I'm not working or sleeping haha. I'll keep it in mind though about the music

Lmao, this comment section has really blown up hasn't it. Yeah, I really wish more fighting games had scythe-like weapons. Seems like most of them are either swords/fists, which gets a bit tiring after awhile.

And yeah, to add onto what Lysis said, the music's a good way to get into the fandom. While us Touhou fans can get a bit crazy at times when explaining the lore of the series and what not, the music's a pretty solid starting point for most people.

Oh hey, thanks for responding to my comment as well GravelCrusher! And yeah, don't worry, Komachi still feels really smooth to play even after her last patch.

(I find it pretty funny how active this comment section has become in the last few days, but hey, that's the Touhou fandom for you. We're pretty quiet until someone mentions our hobby, and then we start talking like crazy about it lmao).

If you're interested in getting more into Touhou though, I'd personally recommend listening to some of the OSTs and remixes on Youtube. Tbh, I'm pretty bad at the bullet hell side of the games myself, so I've pretty much learned about the lore exclusively from the fighting games, music and occasional wiki pages lol.

Hey no problem. I'm not a touhou fan all that much, but a scythe character sounded so cool to work on! Hopefully some others that have a good coding knowledge can work on the others though and give them the polish they deserve. I'm pretty happy with how nice the touhou fans have been with comments and feedback on this project.

Ahh, Komachi the Shinigami! Considering how her scythe works, it's nice to see that her hitboxes are accurately sized. My favorite moves would have to be her Forward Air, Up Air and especially her Down Air spike.

Oh yeah, and her wave dash is surprisingly fun to use! It's fast paced and reminds me of Luigi's from Melee!

I like to think of each Touhou character mod as one step closer to having all the Soku characters in Rivals of Aether. Hopefully then, the fighting game scene will bring enough attention to Touhou that we may actually get Reimu Hakurei in Smash Bros Ultimate.

Lol, that's pretty much my long term dream. And considering how well done your Komachi mod is (and how early it was released into the modding scene), I hope it inspires other modders to make Touhou characters that haven't been added to the Rivals of Aether Steam Workshop yet.

Oh nice, didn't expect to see you respond so quickly! Yeah, I can understand how that type of stuff can leave you with little time to work on mods. But Komachi right now in her current state is still really good and fun to play as. So don't worry about rushing in change note updates and all that.

I always love to get Touhou representation in games, so I appreciate the amount of work that you've already put in this mod as is. As well as responding to the comments here to show that you're still active with the Steam community.

Thanks, I haven't worked on this for a long time, but I appreciate any of kind words. I lost interest in the project with a combination of real life problems (job issues) and not enough knowledge in coding to solve my problems I was working on.

I should try and get back to at least just touch up on some balance issues one day, but for now I hope this is at least good enough that you guys can enjoy her!

Yeeeesssss. Love it whenever I find a Touhou mod in the workshop. Tbh, Rivals of Aether needs more Touhou representation, so I'm always glad to see a Touhou character in the game.

First off, I like how you incorporated her Soku projectiles with her Side B. It's a bit of a shotgun blast that, I feel, helps prevent projectile spamming since there's move incentive to go closer to your opponent instead of running away all the time.

Her Down Special is also quite interesting. It reminds me a bit of Fox's Shine from Melee lol. I like how it's less-so a downwards spike and more-so locks the opponent in place, which makes it a really fun way to do some combos.

Personally my favorite part about Komachi is how strong her Up Strong and Side Strong make you feel. I think it's because of the smear effect on her scythe, but they're always fun to land on an opponent.

In all, she's a really fun character to play as and I'm glad she's in the workshop.

Ah well good luck with your moving, but I really liked the original fair and bair knockback although, I think they could've been a little weaker, but please make them more similar to the original. I also liked that you weakened FSmash but you weakened too much, and needs to be a bit stronger because it's outclassed by downsmash

Yep! I weakened a lot of moves since I didn’t know how strong they were. I’ll do some work later tonight on komachi. I just moved to a new apartment this weekend and haven’t had the time to do any work on her

I really enjoy the character but I have a few suggestions. Change the Up B sweetspot? I don't like how it's at the very end of the attack. F-tilt a bigger hitbox and up air with a little bit more knockback growth so it'll still combo but maybe kill at higher percents and of course I want different specials although, i haven't much of a clue on which neutral and downspecial could be. But for side special, how about she rides through her enemies with her boat although slower than the current one. and lastly nair. Can you make it do more percent and have a bigger hitbox? maybe change the animation since it is a bit boring. but overall I do like this character and I hope you'll take some of my suggestions into consideration. Thanks, keep up the great work
