I'll reinstall L4D2 and take a look at it.
this didn't work for me at all. i wish it did because my friends were spamming the god dam voicelines and giving me a nasty headache. so much i snapped and left the session for a few minutes and came back still pulsing in the head
same here to
Or maybe it's a conspiracy, again.
I've just tested that map both with and without this addon subscribed and it works as intended.
That particular RE3 map includes its own scripts which may conflict with this addon - this is not the fault of my addon, it's Valve's addon system working as it's supposed to.
If you subscribe to this after subscribing to the Resident Evil maps as I suspect you did with the "mute survivor" addons then it will work - this is what I also suggested to Crohnos, detailing three various methods. If it still doesn't work then something else on your end is conflicting with this addon.
I don't know, but it does not work for me. I tried again with the custom campaign RE 3 Nemesis. I can still use the vocalizer and bots will replay to me.
I just tested this mod on one of Roku's RE campaigns and it works as it should do - no in game voice lines / chatter and vocalizers do not work.
It would be helpful if you could tell me what exactly you experience / how exactly it doesn't work. Crohnos didn't get back to me so I assumed he'd figured it out.
I didn't realise that those addons existed, but, there are two different sets of "mute survivor" addons uploaded by two individuals. One set does exactly the same as this addon - the files are almost identical. The only difference is that this is one single addon and isn't outdated.
The other set, of which each addon is over 300mb, is unnecessary. Also, neither of those addons have been updated since The Last Stand update was released, so I would expect that neither of them will actually work correctly and you will hear voice lines at some point which were added when this update was released (I had to update this addon to remove those extra lines in October).
I had the same problem of our fellow Chronos, because I wanted to play RE campaigns made by Roku without hearing voices and with custom skins.
So I downloaded your mod but nothing worked for me unfortunately.
Then I installed 4 separated files from the workshop ("mute [character]") and it worked! Though, when I want to enable voices again I have to restart the game.
Also, conversations that take place during intros cannot be muted.
1) Subscribe to this addon before subscribing to any custom campaigns.
2) Go to \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop and move file 1872883641.vpk to \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons.
3) Go to \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2 open "addonlist.txt" and move the line "workshop\1872883641.vpk" "1" to the top of the list.
You could also rename the folders where the sounds are actually located so that the game can't play them, but, this may be more hassle than it's worth.
