Oh, I was asking not to increase the defense status, I was asking to make the normal version of the sphere helmet to be weaker, so I'd have a reason to wear the heavy version. <3
The defensive power cannot be raised any higher due to Kenshi's specifications, so it is difficult to keep a good balance. There is a difference in harpoon resistance, so please think of it as a differentiation.

If I could suggest something, I would suggest that the lesser version of the sphere mask get a little bit less protection and less diminishing status.
I always use this mod, but I don't see myself using the heavy version, because the lesser version has great protection and less diminishing status.
If you are using Genesis, please ask the Genesis developers as I only gave permission and do not know the internal settings.
