This mod is obsolete, rimworld already did optimizations on raids.

Would like to see a loading optimization mod as it takes FOREVER with a decent size modlist

In the description of the mod, it states:

"About update for 1.1, Tynan already did a huge job to improve rimworld's performance.
there's already an expermiental version of this mod(structure is slightly different) but the difference is smaller than I expected. so for now, no update is planned."

I believe this mod can be considered obsolete.

well that's a way to optimize raid spawns
like, there's no need to optimize anything if nothing is going to spawn :selike:

Dont use the test version for 1.1, it causes raids to not spawn

we dont care if its the most optimized thing ever! or even if youre actually ready to update! any sort of additional information would be amazing! even if its just a 'something popped up, im incapable of working' or 'i got lazy' any new information would be great

Just watched the video and that was some really nice loading times. By nice I mean instant loading time. You just spawned the raid and boom. You got the raid no lag no nothing.

Ok so I think I understand how this mod works now and I will explain for anyone who is confused. So when Rimworld spawns raids the game spawns all the raiders at once. Just vomits them out.

When this happens Rimworld is like "Hey CPU can you process this info for me." and the CPU is like "Yea here since you are a single core game take this core to use." Rimworld then proceeds to whip out a massive packet of info and tries to mash it into this one core and with many mods this "packet" can be MASSIVE.(Along with is usual flow of info)

So what this mod dose is instead of spawing a whole chunk of raiders it trickles them in one by one.

this mod just change how the raid works internally.
also for the mod like "sometime raids go wrong" which use custom events, I put a avoiding code so non-vanila mod won't be affacted by this mod.

if you mean the letter then there is a mod for that. This mod doesnt change any messages its just like vanilla raids... unless i missed some settings or something ?

also @Madeline how does this mod work with "sometimes raids go wrong" will it have a 1/20 chance of spawning a meteor / manuhunter pack ect per raider spawned >?

I really really like this mod and what it does. Is there anyway the non-event message for a Raid can be disabled so it acts more like Vanilla?

this mod prevent rimworld freezing. but the core part that make lag are not easy to fix. also lazy-spawning is not supported in vanila rimworld, so... to prevent crash/bug I have to stop players saving game while spawning.

Is it normal for it to lagg quite heavy when spawning raid then? My lates raid spawn i got a message about (Do not save now please wait) thingy.

@⎛⎝RubbelDieKatz⎠⎞ personally i use this mod right up untill the point where i have the ATOM for TACS researched and installed. I find that when I have a lategame base that has an ATOM the raid is not a supprise to me anyway

rimworld have a support for modding but that is ensecured when the modder do stuffs on the base system, more easily, allow to modify.
however, this mod modify the very core structure, like how massive count of pawns are spawned, where the pawn should be appeared to scene, etc...

I personally find RimAtomics' defenses and Preemptive Strike quite essential. Who's at fault with the incompatibility? Since RimWorld seems to be programmed with mod support in mind, the code structure should be modular in nature and compatibility issues shouldn't arise, so it should be relatively easy to work around these incompatibilities, shouldn't it?

it would seem this mod has a problem with Raids For Me and Rimsenal, with Raids For Me it would force a raid from a random faction instead of the one you insulted and for Rimsenal it prevents the faction raiders from having any armor. Luckily both problems were solved by simply loading this after them. great mod by the way, long gone are my days of the game crashing when a raid shows up.

@sah when you say caravans do you mean trade caravans that visit your map? if so this was already answered just a few messages ago ^.^
if you mean your own caravans to visit an ally to make a trade i am not sure how this mod can help ?

It happens repeatedly spamming the error log across multiple save files. It's part of something that's breaking the LordManager that I haven't managed to nail down yet.
