Sparta is part of the Greek States DLC, it's not a mod.

@Alexandros (GR): I'm currently working on a new unit pack that includes units for all of the factions. I should be done with it later today or tomorrow.
Alexander The Greek 8 Dec, 2013 @ 5:30am
add more units please, thespian units if you can
Alexander The Greek 7 Dec, 2013 @ 5:56am
hey, can you make one mod with all your units in one mod? (including sparta maf's mods)
maffers  [author] 29 Nov, 2013 @ 5:52pm
@natesmz: I think the problem is with Vanilla Fixes - The Non Invasive Mod. I checked the unit ID's and I don't think they are the problem. I think the problem is that the other mod defines a unit_attributes_to_groups_junction table that conflicts with mine. Unfortunatly I don't know of a way to fix it because I think the other mod specifically excludes things that I need to include for my mod to work. I could be wrong about that so if you find out anything else let me know!
maffers  [author] 28 Nov, 2013 @ 6:20am
@natesmz: I use all of my mods together consistently so its unlikely that my mods are interefering with each other. My guess is that its another mod that adds or modifies units that is using the same ID number for the units or the building requirements. If that were the problem then all that would be required to fix it is to change the ID numbers. Unfortunately I won't be able to test this today because I don't have my normal computer, but I'll try to test it tomorrow or the next day.

@Mayor Sexy: Yes this is patch 7 compatible.
@Mori the Vampire Lord: I've already made that. Look for the link at the bottom of the description.
Mori The Vampire Lord 27 Nov, 2013 @ 12:56am
what about a mod that just gives us the units, and not all the changes you made, pls pls
crouch means i need gun 23 Nov, 2013 @ 12:29am

Alexander The Greek 7 Nov, 2013 @ 11:31am
can you make two new units spartan_Logades and spartan_Ekdromoi and change the names of two Spartan units Spartan_Hoplites>Spartan_Homoioi and royal_Spartans>Spartan_Hippeis pl?
Alexander The Greek 3 Nov, 2013 @ 3:25am
its working
maffers  [author] 3 Nov, 2013 @ 3:17am
@Alexandros (GR): I designed this mod primarily as a single player mod that removes the caps for spartan units in the single player campaign. I forgot to remove the cap on Heroes of Sparta for multiplayer because it is the only Spartan unit that has a multiplayer cap. Now Spartan units shouldn't have any caps in single player or multi player.
Alexander The Greek 3 Nov, 2013 @ 2:02am
so, all this mod is not available for single player?
maffers  [author] 2 Nov, 2013 @ 2:56pm
@Alexandros (GR): That is the multiplayer unit cap, which doesn't affect single player campaigns. I just removed that cap now too though.
Alexander The Greek 2 Nov, 2013 @ 2:32pm
Heroes of Sparta still have cap 2
maffers  [author] 1 Nov, 2013 @ 6:24pm
@Niall: The colors of cloaks, clothing, and pretty much everything else on my units are set to default Spartan colors. Other unmodded units like Heroes of Sparta and Royal Spartans should have the same color cloaks as my units. I didn't change their colors so that my mod would be compatible with other mods that modify faction colors.

@Texonater: The Perioikoi Archers have lower melee defense and armor because the small shields they use give them less. I think it makes sense for archers to use smaller shields because bows require two hands and are more difficult to wield. The Perioikoi Archers are tied for highest armor in the game (with Cretan archers) and have the highest melee defense, as far as I am aware, so I'm not sure if drastically increasing armor and melee defense would be balanced or make sense from a historical plausibility perspective.

Having said that, I decreased their morale by 5 to match the peltasts and increased the armor their shields give them by 5, so now they have even more armor than Cretan archers.

Thanks for the reply maffers! I getcha I only glanced through them. Unit mods are awesome, Sparta needed a decent pike unit! One minor thing though; what's with all teh yellow cloaks? Should they not be red?
Texonater 1 Nov, 2013 @ 3:54pm
Good mod. I see that Periokoi Archers have the same ranged capabilities as Helot archers, but their other stats are lower then Periokoi Pelatists (except for morale), which I thought was odd. would you consider giving Periokoi Archers the same stats as Periokoi Pelatists and letter the player decide if they want the higher ranged damage of the pelatists or the longer range of the bow?
maffers  [author] 1 Nov, 2013 @ 1:23pm
@Niall: Things to keep in mind: Only Spartan units have Corinthian helmets added, not Perioikoi or Helots. I added Corinthian helms as a variation, so only ~1/3 of the guys in a unit have the Corinthian helm. The version of the Corinthian helmet that I added doesn't have a plume.
Niall 1 Nov, 2013 @ 11:53am
None of my Spartan units have the Corinthian helmet except Heroes, is that unique to me?
Beefycandy 26 Oct, 2013 @ 2:22am
I really like this mod, it makes sense compared to the half ass job CA did to balance the game.

I have a few ideas i wouldnt mind seeing.
1) Can you take a look at the stats between spartan hoplites, royal spartan hoplites, and heros of sparta? I feel like there really isnt a huge upgrade from one to the other.

2) i was thinking it would be cool to make a crazy good unit after unlocking the Shrine of Leonidas perhaps make it limited to 2-4 units.

3) to make it more interesting/challenging if there was any way to effect the replenish rates on the core spartan units. Make it more difficult to replace good spartan warriors after a bloody fight.

4) if you could add the corithian helm to the pikes that would be awesome =)

All in all though this is a great mod and I'm having a lot of fun using it. I was kind of just throwing out suggestions and by no means trying to knock your work. Keep it up!

maffers  [author] 25 Oct, 2013 @ 4:03pm
I updated the description to include the requirements for building the Spartan Royal Pikemen in the campaign mode (tier 4 Royal Barracks). I'll add the unit by itself as its own mod in as soon as I can get around to it.
drazan 25 Oct, 2013 @ 12:41pm
your new unit,is without doubt one of the best spartan unit's i've seen in this game :o
is he avaiblebe in campaign mode aswell? what building/technology does he need to be unlocked. also would you release a small sub-mod of this consisting only the new unit? that way it will not cause conflict with other mods because everything is brand new. i and probably many more, would really appreciate this. looking forward to see more models of you
