Same thing here with Thorgrim. It just says 1 turn to unlock" and nothing changes.

It sounds like you might have another mod that's overriding the same script. Try putting this mod at the top of the load order. i just tested with Volkmar/Franz and it seems to be working.

No matter how many turns pass it still says "1 turn to unlock" for franz when I play volkmar

I thought with this mod I can recruit Volkmar in my already started campaign, but no! I bought Volkmar's DLC after starting my Empire campaign and there is no option to recruit him now! This sucks a lot! But thanks for your effort.

I should also add that all faction leaders in the base game have this issue. No matter when you recruit them, faction leaders will always be level 1. From what I can tell, it treats them like a lord you already recruited and disbanded. They just sit there at the top of the recruit list with no cost and at their current level. You aren't really 'recruiting' the faction leader like you are any other lord.

Unfortunately that seems to be an issue in the base game. Even without this mod Vlad has this issue if you select Isabella as the starting lord. It must be something to do with how the game handles faction leaders, which is a bit beyond what I know how to mess with.

Hello. Starting game as Grombrindal, as you mentioned Thorgrim joins at turn 2. But he joins as he is already recruited lord. That means he is already in pool and does not get bonus levels via buildings-techs. Same for Volkmar and Azhag.

Yeah, you're right. The AI gets its other general at turn 30, but changing it would mean editing wh_start.lua, which I was worried might conflict with other mods.

Yeah, but the AI generally has to wait until turn 25 for the other LLs to spawn, so I thought this would let the AI recruit them from turn 1.

The AI already has this sort of effect in the base game, this mod just applies for the player.

Thanks for reminding me, I had forgotten to redo the description with the list and the quirk about the faction leaders.
