not really sure whats causing this
Gorigo 3 May @ 3:09am
@BITney, The Pixel Heister oh yeah some problems with planet search occur, like you described it dont appears in space when you orbit it, but its not that critical (but its scary to land on unknown surface)
Gorigo 2 May @ 9:31am
well, if you gonna update it, gl with it ig
NorthWestTrees  [author] 15 Feb @ 3:59pm
Yea no worries Britney, sadly I have gone to all planets and had all the planet backgrounds load in, I also tested by going down to the planet, and then rebooting the save and it seems all fine. It could be mod conflict like you mentioned. I hope this helps a bit. At least we know it's not this mod, kinda had me a bit worried after I saw the game had a patch not to long ago but seems like it's fine on my end at least.
BITney, The Pixel Heister 15 Feb @ 3:36pm
It's my last mod installed, as I said I rlly think its something from Planet Search or derivates. Im so grateful you even installed the game to help me. <3
NorthWestTrees  [author] 15 Feb @ 3:15pm
It started off with asteroid balancing though people wanted some other features that I did not have experience with for the asteroid world, the mechanics between asteroid and planets are vary different in some ways so I made a new mod for a planet version.

I will try a few other systems and see if I can reproduce the issue.
Have you tried uninstalling and installing the mod again, it could be a downloading issue possibly.
Either way I will take another look.
BITney, The Pixel Heister 15 Feb @ 10:13am
If you land on the planet and then go to orbit again seems to show the planet. I re-create again this using Planet Search and it seems its something not workling correctly that mod, because going straight to a planet, the orbit planet doesnt show until you beam down and up.

Another question is, why did you use the asteroid icon when its a planet? In the nav map you see asteroids but going to orbit its a planet, but when you beam down you see an asteroid field. Thats confusing, maybe its me not understanding something xD.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 14 Feb @ 3:06pm
What planet exactly were you having problems with?
I tested the forest one and it seems fine.

Mod may have broken due to the fixes in November 2024 possibly. It was working before then far as I am aware, to be completely honest I have not worked on modding for this game in a long time not sure if I would be able to fix any issues with it any time soon, I don't have a lot of time these days and this mod is not exactly on the fore front of my priority list. I will download the game and try to figure out what's up with it. I can't make any promises though that I will be able to fix the issue.
BITney, The Pixel Heister 14 Feb @ 11:20am
The asteroids seems to generate correctly but theres no background image when you go into orbit.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 14 Feb @ 10:46am
No clue what the issue could be, the mod worked when I tested way back but might be mod conflict maybe not sure.
BITney, The Pixel Heister 6 Feb @ 4:57pm
Got this error just entering the game;

I will see if I can remove those structure, thanks for letting me know about it :)
cutieryan 21 Apr, 2023 @ 1:42am
Luckily, the wiki for this mod has two screenshots of one of the problematic microdungeons, one with the noisy buzz saw in question. Images of one of those structures is seen at the bottom of these pages, in the underground screenshots.
https://sites.google.com/view/balanced-moons-wiki/biomes/biome-gentle-asteroid
https://sites.google.com/view/balanced-moons-wiki/biomes/biome-fiery-asteroid

They are underground variants of the bone mini-biome's microdungeons, which are normally found in bone caves.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 20 Apr, 2023 @ 5:19pm
@Not a Tomato
Thanks for the suggestion I added them to a suggestions topic on the discussions page.

@cutieryan
I have been taking a bit of a break but I do still want to develop the modification.
I did not experience this sound and am unsure what structures are causing the issue maybe if possible share a link of the structure so when I have time to continue working on the mod I can try to get rid of the structure. I am also glad this mod has done so well so thank you for your guys feed back <3
cutieryan 20 Apr, 2023 @ 6:05am
It has been a while since I've last played with this mod, I remember how very helpful this mod was for city building purposes. Pair it with Hull Plating Blocks And More, and it's a great combination to build a whole colony with!

My only major criticism with this mod mostly comes from the underground microdungeons with noisy buzz saws on them. The constant, high-pitched buzzing from these structures makes mining near the core layer an unbearable experience.

If you're still still developing BA2, could you rid of those microdungeons with buzz saws, please?
Not a Tomato 5 Dec, 2022 @ 8:58am
It would nice if they were as small and had low gravity like moons.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 29 May, 2022 @ 1:14pm
If I recall correctly it had something to do with the integration of BA2 with their mod, I am not sure how to fix it properly and have had a hard time to find documentation on with examples.
Circe 29 May, 2022 @ 1:09pm
The description mentions "an issue" for modlists without Truespace, but doesn't clarify what that issue is. Can you provide more information?
NorthWestTrees  [author] 25 Dec, 2020 @ 2:51pm
@ChaosFungus its all good, modding is not to hard if you know a bit of JSON script as most of the game for modding runs off of that. I will try to figure out if there is a file that controls the lava level I am sure its just deep in the assets folder some where ;)
ChaosFungus 25 Dec, 2020 @ 10:43am
@NorthWestTrees I wish I knew... I never made any mods of my own (even though I want to), so I haven't delved into the game's code or assets.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 24 Dec, 2020 @ 8:06pm
@ChaosFungus do you know if there is a setting I can tweak for a fix for this? I may be able to push out a fix in the next update.
MykieMcMuffin 22 Dec, 2020 @ 3:08pm
Yeah just found out that it stops thats why i deleted my comment. Thank u for the explanation^^
ChaosFungus 22 Dec, 2020 @ 3:03pm
@MykieMcMuffin The issue is most definitely known. It mostly has to do with what layer the core lava starts at. Only way to go is to be mindful of how close you are to the planet's core.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 21 Jul, 2020 @ 2:53pm
if its giving you an error then the value you put in is not valid so you have to research what are the valid settings, in most cases look at the vanilla game files you can learn a lot from the files from the base game, if not then I suggest asking the modding community on the chuckle fish forums, they are great over then and are really helpful when I had a question of my own.

Mr Monochrome 20 Jul, 2020 @ 9:54am
And what i need to do?
NorthWestTrees  [author] 20 Jul, 2020 @ 9:51am
Your setting "MildPlanet" but seems to be the problem, it could be a typo or not supported. The file that has the issue is "celestial.config.patch" other than that I have no idea.
Mr Monochrome 19 Jul, 2020 @ 12:12pm
Hi Dude. What can be fixed with this error " [Error] Could not apply patch from file /celestial.config.patch in source: D:\Progs\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\211820\1910612608\contents.pak. Caused by: (JsonPatchException) Could not apply patch to base. (JsonPatchException) Could not apply operation to base. (TraversalException) No such key 'MildPlanet' in pathApply("/planetaryTypes/MildPlanet/baseParameters/terrestrialType/-")"?
NorthWestTrees  [author] 4 Jan, 2020 @ 4:53pm
So I made an update to the description, the short side of things I don't think its possible to set the biome rarity for spawning however I may be able to fix other issues like for example ore veins are to big and so on. Development may be better to focus on those issues then put more hours testing in this particular issue that could be fixed just by tweaking some smaller issues people are having. So let me know what parts of the mod are the main issue for one to want the biomes rarer then they are now and I will do my best to research fixes for those issues.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 2 Jan, 2020 @ 9:05pm
@Wightmare
The only configuration that has to do with the EPP in this mod is to set the status effect for the biomes, the mod does not control how the EPP works so its unlikely that Balanced Asteroids 2 is causing this issue. If you figure out what the cause of it is I would like to know so I can add it to a list of mods that have issues with this one.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 2 Jan, 2020 @ 8:49pm
@ChaosFungus
I have been trying to figure out a way to make them more rare, I ran into a problem and had to ask on the modding forums for some help, I did get a response however there is still some work that needs to be figured out (bugs) and I have not had much time to work on fixing those problems as they are larger then I fist thought.
ChaosFungus 1 Jan, 2020 @ 12:21am
@Wightmare They work fine for me. Do you have any mods that happen to change how EPPs work in any certain way? And does this only occur on Radioactive Asteroids?
[HIVE] Plague Doc 31 Dec, 2019 @ 11:18am
EPPs don't seam to work on radioactive asteroids. Every time I go into one I'm immediately hit with rad poisoning. :SBpenguin: :SBpenguin: :SBpenguin: :SBpenguin: :SBpenguin:
ChaosFungus 30 Dec, 2019 @ 9:44pm
I've done two resets so far, and both resets place me in a star system with at least one gentle asteroid. It may either be luck, or they are common enough that you almost always start out in a system with one or so asteroid planets.

I will continue testing on my end to see if it's even possible to not land in a star system with a gentle asteroid.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 19 Dec, 2019 @ 2:50pm
I have been working on making the planets more rare, its a bit more complex then I thought, I still need to test it but the base line of the code "should" work, hence why I need to test it.

I had to make a new tier for each planet type then I could set the rarity for the planet based on that without altering the game files.

However, if it works I can make it public, but I want to make sure its tested and works both on TrueSpace and just stand alone before I push out a update.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 2:41pm
I just patched the mod, I removed those two lines of code for tier 1 planets. Let me know if its still an issue I will ask on the forums for help if its still an issue at that point.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 2:25pm
Thanks, :)
Further when I have more time to learn how to do more advanced things like dungeons and NPC I would not mind adding those things as well as custom tiles. Tiles are in the works right now. But I have to learn more before I update the worlds.

I also looked in several game files to see where the game calculates the percent for spawning the planets and I can't find a setting at the moment I will ask on the developer forum to see if anyone knows or can help there but it won't be in this next patch sadly. I will patch the gentle asteroid soon though.
ChaosFungus 18 Dec, 2019 @ 2:01pm
All right. By the way, wonderful job with the mod. I actually enjoy exploring these planets a lot. Thanks!
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:50pm
I will try to figure out how to make the planets a bit less common before I publish the update.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:49pm
I checked all the files the last one I checked was celestial.config.patch and it dose have a tier 1 listed in it as well as a tier 2 so this may be causing the issue. I will push out a update shortly to fix this issue.
ChaosFungus 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:46pm
Yeah. They're tier 2. And I may just be lucky to have always landed on a star system with at least one. Either way, I do think it'd be nice if they are slightly less common like gamerj88 said.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:40pm
I know that lush planets are always starter planets however that's in its won tier I think tier 1 where gentle asteroids are in tier 2 if I recall correctly however, tier 2 overlaps in generation with tier 1 systems (white stars) so there is a possibility that a white star will have a gentle asteroid but not all of them will have them. It may just be luck to start off with a gentle asteroid. I will double check the settings for the mod but I am pretty sure that the gentle asteroid falls under a tier 2 not tier 1 planet type.
ChaosFungus 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:32pm
What I mean is, there might be a strand of code somewhere that asks the game to also search for a star system that has a gentle asteroid too. Something that could be worth looking into when you can.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:28pm
I have not changed any settings that would take longer to travel to a planet however if other people have similar issues I would like to know so I can look into this further.
ChaosFungus 18 Dec, 2019 @ 1:06pm
I don't know if it's me or not, but I think the game tries to also find a star system with a gentle asteroid in orbit as well as a small lush planet. I noticed it took more time to reach a planet after starting.
NorthWestTrees  [author] 18 Dec, 2019 @ 12:54pm
At the moment I am not sure without looking at the code to see if I have a way to make the planets more rare. If I find a way I will make them a bit more rare to find in the future.

For the mod I will see if I can link into there mod in some way to add support for the planets, I may be able to use TrueSpace as an example how to link into specific features for More Planet Info. I will work on this when I have some time. Thanks for letting me know :)
gamerj88 16 Dec, 2019 @ 7:20pm
Overall I like this mod, but think the added planets/asteroids are a bit too common and it doesn't 100% work with More Planet Info . it won't show what planets ore around the different stars
NorthWestTrees  [author] 12 Dec, 2019 @ 2:43pm
I think that is normal.
{VoxelDragon6} 12 Dec, 2019 @ 12:41pm
*Casually signals planets.*
NorthWestTrees  [author] 2 Dec, 2019 @ 1:17pm
You are more than welcome. ;)

I have seen the mod on the workshop before, but I never used it until I was testing this mod out. It is a nice mod, maybe one of my new favorites. The developer was very helpful too.
