fe characters don't need to have counters, they honestly shouldn't in smash
I do hope we could see more FE characters.
Nonetheless amazing job!
Now if someone were to try to make a serious character and rip most all of my work, that'd be a different story. I don't mind using my work as a baseline or as an example (I mean I do it too to be honest, Lyn's counter was based off of Yoyo's (with the author's permission)), but it's a blurry line for some people between inspiration and theft.
At the end of the day, it's a modded character with open source code that anyone who downloads the mod can look at, so I'm aware of the risk of publishing it, and I think as long as people are reasonable about things and it's in the name of good fun, I don't mind stuff like the Ross character reskinning since credit is given.
How do you feel about Ross? The character that was made using your work on Lyn? I'm just fascinated by how ownership works in a community like this, where you don't own the character or sprites or Ip, but the work you put into the character is yours and someone else takes that work and makes Ross from Friends out of it... I'm just curious cause I kind of love, everything about this.
I worked with the limited knowledge I have and did do some cleanup of the sprites (e.g. saturating colors a bit, making the border colors the same black as RoA main cast, ensuring the "pixel" size was the same as RoA main cast), and I know portraits and such don't really match very well, but I don't have the skillset to make it look good myself, unfortunately.
that would fix the wall-glich as well
A little issue I had with her is that her counter sends you forwards instead of ending where you started, which is kinda weird to me.
And that her Up special is just a jump, maybe add an attack after/during the flip so that you can choose between a double jump and an attack?
The regular taunt also kinda jitters a bit oddly enough. I also agree with the neutral-b, it would be cooler if you had the option to charge the crit or to shoot a normal arrow.
The only complaints i have is that her neutral-b's startup animation is way too long, so i find it hard to use it, and that a few times when i used her counter, it ended with me out of the stage.
