I'm not sure how good this is with the Anomaly campaign when it comes to the friendlies event. I don't see any difference between Cassandra. In fact I think it may happen more with Cassandra. Maybe if you play the entire thing using this storyteller rather than switch to it, but I find having major threats every couple of days at the beginning of the game... Well you better be brave unless you reduce the size of raids to below 500% but then there would be no point in using this storyteller as if you wanted a harder game then you could just do Cassandra at 500% instead of using this.

Note that is vanilla. If you are doing a combat extended game, 500% is the default because guns are more powerful at taking down enemies. Any less and its unfair to the AI since they dont have a killbox, turrets and cover whereas you do.

Hey all, will update the mod soon for 1.5

I have plans to redo Gunny's texture some time in the future because I have had a lot of practice lately doing Storytellers with what I think is an improved art style. For now, I'll just push a simple 1.5 update. Cheers all.

my only gripe about the mod page is that you abbreviated Gunnery Sergeant wrong, it's GySgt. Though, I love the whole Boot Camp vibe to it.

@rex6564 - Can't do them all bro, sadly some would just need so much time that it's easier to rebuild from the ground up, which is what I was doing for Red Horse 2 anyway. Gonna need some time till it's all back with new textures along with new features.

There's an incompatibility with Rim War. When using this story teller, I get almost no events at all like @Mr.Spleens. And if I click on my faction base in the world map, I get a long "object not set to an instance of an object" error in the description box. The error goes away if I switch to a different story teller, and comes back as soon as I re-enable him. I played almost 18 days without a single negative event. Relaxing, but not what I signed up for.

@IceHero3 - You can but it's twice the threshold of vanilla storytellers. It's not unreachable at all, I assume it's something like 20 colonists or so.

@IceHero3 - Like VOID Storyteller this is a double population storyteller. They don't need to hit the hard cap to actively try and kill you cause they're already made to be harder.

@Mr. Spleens - I'm sure that it's not an issue with the mod. I am aware that having a storyteller for too long eventually causes them to send less incidents or just behave oddly. The recent update is built over Randy Random's 1.2 coding, apart from increasing some numbers there aren't any changes that would stop incidents.

As Randy has a higher hard cap than the other storytellers (50), what is Gunny Sergeant Hartman's hard cap for population before he starts trying to actively kill off people?

I have turned off the storyteller and used a different one and I almost instantly got a raid from a actual person, may just be very unlucky but thats a possible issue

I'm on losing is fun with rimwar on hard and have only gotten manhunter and machine raids, even after declaring war on the soviets.

@The World. I reported that back in April (just go back one page) but according to CP the gunny favours negative events over positive events so the trader event basically doesn't fire.

Not sure if it bug.. but I haven't seen one trader in an entire year and a half! I saw one in the beginning, but then I never saw another one again. Might want to look into it?

@Mycroft - Thanks for letting me know. I didn't remove it, the image was somehow corrupted in the previews despite me not touching the mod for ages.

@Mr Tea Pot - Sorry I'm not into She Ra and I'm not taking requests for mods right now.

@brody1601 - No reason why it wouldn't, hospitality doesn't cause incompatibility with storytellers. The problem is if Gunny is too busy giving you negative events then you're less likely to run into positive ones including traders or guests.

@Nylem - He’s got the same trader chances as Randy, there’s nothing else special added or taken away that would cause no traders, but I assume since negative events are favoured over positive ones it may be that.

Heya CP. Nice to see the gunny back for 1.1 but I have a question. I saw someone commented about traders and you said it doesn't affect them but I've had the same thing happen. (Warning, wall of text incoming)

I was using another storyteller and saw that the Gunny was back after some R&R so on he goes (my favourite by the way) and suddenly no traders neither orbital or ground were arriving. I know storytellers can take a while to take over when switched so I just left it but one in game year later and still nothing. I use adjustable traders and I was having 4 traders a day come (role playing a trading hub world in this play through) but when I switched nothing. I switched back to Casandra and back they came after a couple of days. Is the Gunny so focused on putting us through our paces that traders are very rare now or something? There's no error log or anything but just no traders.

Loved the Gunny back in 1.0 and I know he sent traders then. Thanks for the great mod.

@big man - click “merciless” mode so it can be toggled with the other options and see if the option willl show up.
