As we all know Sparta starts with two units of Spartan Hoplites with King Areus, and in the first few turns of the game, those 3 units when combined in combat are pretty much unstopable esspecially while flanking the same unit. at least so I thought. It was turn 4 When I was attacked by Macedonia and my two starting Spartan Hoplite units and my general with his Royal Spartans were wiped out by 1 unit of Royal peltasts (Used as a Macedonian General unit) My three units were not even touched by any other enemy unit, it was a straight up 3v1, the macedonian unit was surrounded, using my generals abilities like crazy but my Spartans were used like shit paper to wipe Macedonian arse by 1 unit of Peltasts. You need to review your units and balance them against the rest of the entire Greek culture because 160 Peltasts of any kind COULD NOT go toe to toe with 480 Spartans and walk away with 93 men remaining.
I recently downloaded the patch 8.1 beta-but then I opted out of it, if that helps. But right after I did that I un-subscribed, then re-subscribed to this mod! So I really don't know what's going on...
Yes
@Julie
The patch shouldn't mess with it, and I'm updating as I can. Nothing is broken though to make a 'hot-fix' priority.
After ROH is finished, it's either Egypt or Suebi.
That probably wont be for a while though, most of my time is now spent working and I come home exhausted.
I don't mess with multiplayer battles at all but I'm 90% certain that you both have to have the mod, if you don't then it probably wouldn't even let you join a battle with them at all. But then again there are cheat mods out there that people use in multiplayer battles so idk.
Hm, I didn't notice that before, I'll look into it. I'm updating all of my mods for patch 7 balancing at the moment.
As for the Thorakitai, maybe it is just me. If it isn't too much trouble, it would be neat to see what the new linothorax texture you have looks like, just to compare the two.
This definitely looks like an awesome mod. Keep up the good work!
It should be save game compatible, the new units will show up and be useable, I don't expect you'll encounter any problems as it's not an extensive overhaul mod. It simply adds permissions and new units.
As for the Thorakitai, see this example http://www.europabarbarorum.com/i/units/epeiros/epi_thorakitai.gif
I do now have some scale linothoraxes I could use for them, that I didn't have previously, and I can also make the skin for each faction unique to the faction if need be. It's something to consider, thank you for the feedback. The Agrianians? Hmm, I do agree, I can remove that particular rigidmodel so it's limited to the one that actually looks like metal.
Which leads me to a question: is this mod save-game compatible? So, if I play 40 or so turns with vanilla Epirus, decide I want the roster expansion, and get the mod, can I continue my old game with the new units? Or do I have to start a new campaign?
Also, two points of constructive criticism. First, the Thorax Spearmen look a bit too Eastern for an Epeirote army. They definitely look at home among the Seleucids and Egyptians, but they feel too Eastern compared to the other Epeirote troops. Second, the chest plates on some of the Agrianians look like a big yellow sticker, not a piece of solid metal. You might want to tweak the textures for that.
Otherwise, very good work. Keep it up!
There's some really good unit packs for them atm, see Gavitrons thrace pack and Meneros mod for the Illyrians, you can get more info for Meneros's mod on TWC, his workshop posting isn't very detailed.
I'd like to figure out what's causing the problem, even though not everyone is having it. Do you happen to be using a third party mod manager to adjust your load order or are you using only the integrated mod manager in the launcher?
I don't personally have this problem, and I don't know what's causing it.
