be aware that depending on your PC power, GFX settings, and whatever particles you have the plasma rifle put out via mods, this might absolutely NUKE your fps for a second or two

@Good Smelling Fluffy One if you use WSR to swap weapons, it does. You just need to make sure this mod's commands are executed before the lines that swap the weapon with the beam rifle's aesthetic take place. You can do so by moving the content of this mod's WSR config file inside the main WSR's config and manually place them before the lines that change weapon appearance. It'll work then.

This does not affect weapons reskinned to the beam rifle. Not a huge issue just letting people be aware.

@SentySent More plausible that you have other mods modifying the plasma rifle, maybe via WSR, or that your own configuration is overriding the changes. Check for mod conflicts and double check WSR configs.

Tried this mod for some times but the firing effect of the Plasma Rifle remain unchanged on my end. I wonder if this only works on high graphical settings or it doesn't work on Skirmish Mode?

I found some minor incompatibilities with this mod to two others.
Iridar's Underbarrel Attachments: The underbarrel storm gun's projectiles are invisible when fired if it's attached to a plasma rifle with this mod
Reduced XCOM Weapon FX: This mod overrides the reduced visual effects, so plasma rifles still have their flashy particle effects that slow the game down sometimes

Liking the mod, but there seems to be no firing sound when using Suppresison with the beam rifles. The effect is there, but no sound of the weapon firing.

Do you think it would be possible to get a version of this for the magnetic rifle? I think its projectiles would feel a lot punchier if they fired at the same rate as this.

@Zwitter it is. It's based on WSR and WSR is safe to use whenever.

Thanks and well done, it's been a petty hate of mine too. I added the lines to do the same with the SMG_BM, I don't know if it will work (I'm only a ini modder...) but worth a try.
