@Convenient Spider, oh yikes, thanks for the warning... It's been awhile since I last played.

@Panthercat64 Oh no, never use Buddha. Due to a bug in the Source Engine update as of 2013, you can now die despite being in Buddha Mode. It happens if you take a certain specific amount of damage beyond your last hit.
Panthercat64  [autor] 15 MAR 2024 a las 22:42
@PacmanYT09

Go to the console, and type "sv_cheats 1" and hit enter
Then type "buddha" and hit enter.

That should help work around the bug.

You forgot to make Gordon invincible
Panthercat64  [autor] 30 OCT 2021 a las 12:44
Oh no, not a all.

Does this need the original mod for it to work? Just to make sure
Panthercat64  [autor] 10 JUL 2021 a las 13:09
There are a few things with the AI that make this mod a pain. For example, apperantly the soldiers have x-ray vision. So even if they don't see you trying to flank them, they'll start supress firing where ever you go, boxing you in.
Not impossible, but very annoying when you have no health.

Then there is definitely something wrong with the ai in my game
Panthercat64  [autor] 4 JUL 2021 a las 12:46
Well... this isn't meant to make the game easier. If anything it makes it harder and forces you to be more cautious than before.
An Insignificant Moth 4 JUL 2021 a las 12:37
i appreciate the balance changes, cause i didn't do well in the main game altogether
Panthercat64  [autor] 24 ENE 2021 a las 13:12
Ah, Didn't know that mod changed the damage too.
DorrarViskingar 24 ENE 2021 a las 11:04
it was Juniez's Classic Weapons Pack. I just simply tweaked the script of that one.
Panthercat64  [autor] 24 ENE 2021 a las 10:19
Out of curiosity, what mod was it?
DorrarViskingar 24 ENE 2021 a las 7:39
it's all good, scripts of another mod were conflicting with this one was all, so no problems at all.
Panthercat64  [autor] 23 ENE 2021 a las 13:53
Dude, chill. First, do you even know how to open a .VPK file.
Two, Not my fault you have nothing better to do in your failing life. If you don't think it's a mod, go and make one. I'll wait. I expect a link.:lunar2019piginablanket:
bol 23 ENE 2021 a las 13:31
You just changed numbers in skill.cfg, that's ALL
bol 23 ENE 2021 a las 13:31
its nothing. Its not a mod, its not even script
bol 23 ENE 2021 a las 13:30
bruh its just a config chance lol
Panthercat64  [autor] 23 ENE 2021 a las 12:37
It adds something impacting the games code in some way, so thus yes.
bol 23 ENE 2021 a las 7:27
You call this ADDON?
Panthercat64  [autor] 7 ENE 2021 a las 17:33
If you have a mod that changes damage: yeah it might not work. I don't know what mods overwrite what and how.
I might also have to check again to make sure the game didn't change how damage works, AGAIN.
another thing you could do is verify the the cache files then reinstall the mod. If you do this, note: the Skill.cfg will be replaced with the default settings, so you have to put it back in again.
If it's something else, a good way to check if the mod is working is to set the game to hard then shoot a headcrab with a glock, if it kills it on the first shot: it works
DorrarViskingar 7 ENE 2021 a las 8:14
Yo this still doesn't work for me, even if I put the vpk in the custom folder it still won't work. what am I doing wrong? Is it because of other conflicting workshop addons? because that was never a problem to me ever before.
Panthercat64  [autor] 3 DIC 2020 a las 20:28
Still a problem for me.
Underqualified Gunman 3 DIC 2020 a las 16:57
they made crouching have very little friction so that if you are moving a significant amount you act like you are in air. this means you can now floor strafe if you ever done rocket jumping in TF2/quake 1/HLDM
Panthercat64  [autor] 2 SEP 2020 a las 13:46
Have you ever been shot? No I'm joking.
But I was not going for pure realistic but more Freeman's Mind realistic. I looked at the footage and tried to figure the best number in the code that would match. and THEN I'd tried to balance it as best I could. I think there's some tweaking I could do to balance it out better, but I don't know where.
Also, nothing I can do about the sliding thing. It's because Black Mesa adds the 'slide' effect during Xen. It basicily takes all friction and divides it by some number I don't know. Now damage counts as a force, so when you get shot the game tries to push you a little bit; HOWEVER, since the friction is divided: it makes the force pushing you back MUCH MUCH higher than the game should even allow. WHY? because it calculates the force by how much damage the bullet does. In the end, I can't do anything unless somebody finds the code and edits it.
memedrid 2 SEP 2020 a las 1:52
I wasn't able to get other damage modification mods to work, but this one does function.
I'm not sure I'd call 9mm being equivalent to 7.62 NATO "realistic" But if you're looking for much, much lower TTK this should do it for you. The getting shot while crouched thing sliding you backward is a bit annoying, but it's by no means the end of the world.
Pritchard 13 MAR 2020 a las 17:18
Ah, I see :/ thanks for the explanation!
Panthercat64  [autor] 13 MAR 2020 a las 10:05
However... the Massive Knock-back only happens when you're crouched. Becuase it's reducing the friction so you have that "Slide" that they added during Xen.
So has long has you're standing, it won't really effect you that much. It's a bit stupid but again, I can't really do anything.
Panthercat64  [autor] 13 MAR 2020 a las 10:01
It's something that has to do with Black Mesa's code. It's basicly: knock-back force = damage.
I think it's a bit of weird way to do it, I'd think have a set knock-back for each weapon so 9mm does amost nothing while a tau shot could make you go flying if hit in mid air. But it's Crowbar Collectives game, so I can't really do anything.
Seriously, I tried to look for the script and see if I could change it: Nope, locked out of modder's sight.
Pritchard 12 MAR 2020 a las 23:22
What's with the massive pushback from being shot? I go flying across the room in almost every gunfight...
zigurat 12 MAR 2020 a las 22:31
Thanks!
Panthercat64  [autor] 12 MAR 2020 a las 22:29
No, it ups the damage the guns to more realistic levels, headcrabs have better damage, bees are not so leathal, ect. Stuff you've seen in Freeman's mind.
I would say start with medium (or as they now call it: Black mesa), so you can get used to it. As about 3 shots from a 9mm gun could kill you. It basicly makes it more equal for damage player does 1.0 damage enemies deliver 1.0 damage like in regular half life.
zigurat 12 MAR 2020 a las 22:25
What difficulty should I choose? Or does the mod override all of them?
Panthercat64  [autor] 10 ENE 2020 a las 16:54
It would, but that would mean working with the Hammer editor. And I can't do that, I can't figure that thing out for my life, or even death.
I hope somebody can do that.
MR.SUPERIOR 10 ENE 2020 a las 4:49
would be also cool to see freeman's mind uplink
where you teleport lambda complex to uplink & in the end comeback there
Panthercat64  [autor] 7 ENE 2020 a las 20:58
Yeah I coppied the same comment from the last mod, and I don't care what you think
