Does it has district?
Uno 18 May, 2023 @ 3:38am
I am unsure if the Bug is an issue with the Mod or the game itself?
To Clarify: When trying to purchase the camping skill "Shanty Serenade" its icon appears BELOW the "Wound Care" Skill- allowing me to only buy 1 of them.

I went into the files myself to mess around to see if I could figure it out- I couldn't.
But I was able to make a work around in order to fix it (Its still an issue but I was able to purchase the camping skill).

My work around was just deleting every single camping skill from the file / going in game and buying it / backing out of the game and undoing the changes I made.

Again not sure if its a game issue or an issue with the mod at all. (If someone knows otherwise please let me know!)

Small Bug; Cant get the last camping skill at all. 2 of them got put on top of each other so its impossible to click.
BeatemBashems 25 Apr, 2023 @ 8:04pm
do you know of any known incompatibilities? I'm playing with several other class mods and no skill names or descriptions are showing up. I even put in first in mod load order
Voidwalker 22 Aug, 2022 @ 5:25am
I feel like class needs some buffs in terms of numbers, maybe remove handicap from pistol, to me he is like 0.5 of dismas
NeonNobility 17 Jul, 2022 @ 10:39am
The speed buffs are way too much to make healing worth it (accuracy debuff would make more sense), plus they've got no full damage attacks. I don't see how this would be useful in any role
berserki 29 Sep, 2021 @ 4:42pm
@Ronarch trust me, it's not OP. He's one of the worst healers I've played with
Joe 6 Jul, 2020 @ 9:28am
Bruh, can you make the cutlass longer please xD it currently looks like a glorified kitchen knife.
Jesterofgames7712 27 Jun, 2020 @ 8:16am
@ronarch
Ration of grog heals less health and stress then both inspiring tune and divine gracr
Ronarch 26 Jun, 2020 @ 8:30pm
I love this class. The idea of a privateer in the game is kind of essential.
It's just that Ration of Grog ability looks a bit OP to me. It heals like vestal's Divine Grace and relief stress almost like Jester's Inspiring Tune.
struskawka 2 Jun, 2020 @ 12:07pm
Can you create localization files for all languages with english text, so when using other language player will see english text instead of for example [<hero_class_name_privateer>]? Like in rescuer class mod, where all languages have english localization file.
Otherwise great mod
SleepySheepy 19 May, 2020 @ 12:31am
really cool class, definitely needed a pirate in this game. thanks for your hard work :p
Jesterofgames7712 18 May, 2020 @ 8:23pm
Are you suppose to be able to use medicinal herbs to clear off “... and a bottle of rum.”’s debuffs?
DetourDunnDee 13 May, 2020 @ 8:00am
Because this hero has 7 trinkets and most others have 5, has anything been done to prevent the rewards pool feeling diluted, or does the game naturally prevent that on its own? (game rolls hero first and trinket pool second vs just the trinket pool)
Rennacius 9 May, 2020 @ 11:52am
Hello, may I translate this mod to Brazilian Portuguese?
Agrippa 6 May, 2020 @ 10:50am
This class looks nice, might give it a try on my next playthrough!
I think an interesting change would be if the shanty serenade was less effective for religious characters. Maybe some of the other abilities, too, making the camping skills similar to the vestal who thrives with religious characters in the party.
It would make sense thematically since I doubt religious characters would approve much of all the drinking, shouting and cursing during camp. It would tell part of the character's story through his skills which has always been a strong suite of the original DD.

The Black Powder Pistol bases its damage on what rank the Privateer is in
IC 5 Apr, 2020 @ 7:32am
Guys, I have a question about his first skill "the black powder pistol", Whose position matters for the damage? The privateer? or his target? I brought him to fight the flesh lv.1, my big mistake, I don't really understand how to play him correctly. Got pawned real hard.
CardB23 (Harvester) 3 Apr, 2020 @ 12:15pm
Happy Mod Appreciation Day! Thank you so much for all the hard work you do for the community
<3
Firkin 28 Mar, 2020 @ 7:48am
Feels too weak to me as well. By the way, is there any chance you'll offer him as a skin instead of a full-on class mod in the future?
CardB23 (Harvester) 17 Mar, 2020 @ 11:28am
Small bug that I have noticed, It seems his camping skills, specifically Wound Care and Shanty Serenade are overlapping on top of one another in the Survivalist, I can buy one, but not both. This is only a minor issue but one I thought I would bring up so you could fix it.
Normally Ky 23 Feb, 2020 @ 7:00am
Can't believe it took this long for someone to make an actual pirate class.
vazhatavberidze 13 Feb, 2020 @ 1:32pm
Not at all. Give him healing/stress trinkets and he'll perform amazingly, esp in later lvls.
戴尔基 13 Feb, 2020 @ 10:29am
Too weak after weakening
vazhatavberidze 4 Feb, 2020 @ 1:36am

Update 1.2
==============================
You feedback has been heard and taken into consideration.

Drunken Shanty Nerf:
-Removed Crit Bonus
-Lowered Buff Amounts
-Lowered Healing and Stress Healing
-Lowered Stress Healing Chance
-Added a 75% Chance Speed Debuff

Fixed an Issue that was causing the Privateer's Speed to be reduced to 0 when upgrading to his level 2 weapon.
vazhatavberidze 27 Jan, 2020 @ 10:59am
I've been playing your man in a team of butcher bird, shieldbreaker and a cannoneer. Crits everywhere. in three rounds he ramps up about 12 crit for the team, which is ludicrous, considering how much of a game changer it is. Gone are the days when my hands were shaking from excitement upon seeing the odd +crt quirk on a new recruit. As much as I love him, and I do, he needs a nerf. Singlehandedly trivialized stress issue too, with the right trinkets you can ramp up 8-9 group stress heal in no time.
DapperJack  [author] 27 Jan, 2020 @ 9:22am
@vaz, a privateer literally is a pirate, its just a pirate with a license from a government. A Buccaneer was a specific type of french privateer who cooked on an open flame apit roast called a boucanes.

On balance have you actually looked at the numbers or just the ability summary? Because the team crit bonus is absolutely tiny.
vazhatavberidze 26 Jan, 2020 @ 2:53pm
The art and concept design are superb, but its grossly op. Stress & Healing & 3 different buffs in one skill? that's a huge overkill. Stress & healing in one skill, evenly distributed, is already an overkill that trivializes the stress threat altogether. As someone mentioned it would be good if buffs were balanced with debufs - drunken shanty gives TEAM BONUS CRT, which is literally insane buff, esp for a dancing party. If it were to also give speed and accuracy debuffs, being a DRUNKEN shanty, maybe things would even out a bit.
Also, this last might be a personal nitpick of mine, but maybe a buccaneer and not a privateer? More suited to the art and more pirate-y.
OpalGotMyHeart 23 Jan, 2020 @ 12:38pm
No problem, and thank you very much!
DapperJack  [author] 23 Jan, 2020 @ 10:57am
I have made a discussion for feedback, please feel free to use it. Thank you
OpalGotMyHeart 23 Jan, 2020 @ 5:29am
could you make a pair of discussion pages for feedback related to balancing and glitches?
DapperJack  [author] 20 Jan, 2020 @ 7:42am
It is currently only localized for the English language, as its the only language I am fluent.
Branch 20 Jan, 2020 @ 12:20am
I mean, how many languages are supported in this mod. Like polish, brazilian, etc. If you have any translation for any language - please, let it know for guys =) Or, if you haven't, place for all languages english localization by default.
DapperJack  [author] 19 Jan, 2020 @ 11:20pm
thank you all again for the kind words and feedback.

@Branch, what info are you looking for about localization?
I do not run the Pets or Sunward Isle mods, so I am not at liberty to make those kind of trinkets. I am open to the idea if the creators of the mods contact me. Be assured that if future content is planned, I will let you all know.
Branch 19 Jan, 2020 @ 9:58pm
And please, add info about localization.
Branch 19 Jan, 2020 @ 9:57pm
Hi, nice work. Do you want to add custom trinket for him pet (Pets mod) and Sunward (Sunward Isles mod)?
Saber One 18 Jan, 2020 @ 8:07am
Probably my favorite support / healing character so far. But then, any character with a heal and stress heal in one is pretty great.
Drekyr 18 Jan, 2020 @ 5:52am
@Smuckem Jester, Guqin, Lamia for now. Still waiting for a proper full-fledged band.
Jason Dozens 17 Jan, 2020 @ 11:52pm
make +15-30% damage to eldrich
DapperJack  [author] 17 Jan, 2020 @ 9:05pm
Update 1.1: This update was focused on balancing the healing abilities of the Privateer, a balance pass to the the Aged Rum Trinket, and reworking the Captain's Private Stock Trinket.

Captain's Private Stock Trinket Rework:
No longer buffs healing or stress healing, but now adds the following effects to all friendly skills (3 round duration)
+2 Dodge, +5% Stun, Bleed, Blight, and Disease Resistance.

Aged Rum:
Added a -10% DMG debuff to the trinket.

Drunken Shanty:
Stress Heal reduced by 1 across all levels.

Ration of Grog:
Added a -1 Speed Debuff to the ability.
DapperJack  [author] 17 Jan, 2020 @ 8:19am
I will keep an eye on feedback on his Ration of Grog and Drunken Shanty abilities. They were both balanced against the Vestal's Heals and the Jester's Stress Heals. The Privateer is a weaker healer than vestal and a weaker stress healer than Jester, that was intentional as the compromise of getting both healing and stress healing in his abilities. That said, the numbers are pliable and may need to be modified as balance passes are made.

Thanks again and I look forward to more feedback on the Privateer! Please continue to let me know what you think.
DapperJack  [author] 17 Jan, 2020 @ 8:19am
Thanks, everyone, for the feedback! It will be taken into consideration and balance will be ongoing.
Trinket balancing is a tricky thing, to be sure. Aged Rum is under consideration for a rework to change effects away from being healing oriented to something else entirely.

Privateer's License and Captain's orders are specifically meant to maximize the Privateer's possibility as a damage frontline. Yes he only has 3 abilities available to him at that rank, but they are his damage abilities. Its a limiting factor, which i believe works as a good balance mechanism, as he is meant to be a jack of all trades, master of none. All of his strengths comes with weakening other areas of his kit.
Gewreid 17 Jan, 2020 @ 7:18am
A very interesting and fun looking mod, i look forward to trying it out and will give you my feedback. The class seems very versatile and useful and i really like the concept of a buffing and debufing support. (That being said, having a buff for three stats on a teamwide heal and stress heal might be a bit much in one ability ^^")

On first glance the trinkets do seem rather unbalanced to me though.
Almost all of them focus on his healing and stress healing done, creating a lot of redundancies.
A few more trinkets that focus on other aspects of his kit instead would be very welcome.

Privateer's License seems odd and inconsistent to me as well. It confines the Privateer to the first Rank, however he only has 3/2 Abilities he can use in that position.
Being in position 1, he can't use his Heals/Stress Heals anyway, making the reduced (stress)healing on the Item rather pointless as a downside too.
Kope 17 Jan, 2020 @ 3:39am
That being said, I've yet to see how the SPD debuff scales on 'Belay!', so I might have spoken too soon.
Kope 17 Jan, 2020 @ 3:38am
This game was crying out for more pirate-themed characters!
Just about to give him a run out in my new campaign. Just by looking at his skills, I'd say a couple of things..

'Belay!' - Could do with a +10% stun increase. 70% is still low enough as an off-set to the high ACC and strong back-line debuff. What is also to be remembered is although back-line skills are invaluable at times, it also becomes less effective (usually) the more enemies you kill and/or amount to begin with.

'Ration of Grog' - This seems a little too strong, but only a little. Could do with something thematic like a small SPD debuff (1/1/1/2/2).

All in all though, he looks solid! :D
Captain23rd 16 Jan, 2020 @ 12:22pm
One sentence to describe this beautiful mod would be:

Do what you want cause a pirate is free, you are a pirate!
DapperJack  [author] 16 Jan, 2020 @ 11:16am
Thanks for all the kind words and piratical enthusiasm! I designed the Privateer to be a flexible class that can fit into a lot of teams, and his trinkets help you build him out to be more specialized if that's your thing.

If you're having trouble finding his role in your games, I suggest thinking about him in terms of rank. If you need a support character, kit him out for mid rank play with Drunken Shanty, Dissonant Chord, Ration of Grog, and Belay. If you would like him to do more damage, but him in rank 1or2 and use Black Powder Pistol, Avast!, ...and A Bottle of Rum, and Dissonant Chord.

Remember, you can change out selected abilities between battles in the dungeon, so if you find you need him to switch roles, its as easy as reselecting abilities and moving his rank.
Pinkillah 16 Jan, 2020 @ 10:54am
Dude, I'm a big fan of this class. He fits into a unique role in team comps, and he's a lot of fun to use. Thanks for making this.
The Bean Hunter 16 Jan, 2020 @ 8:29am
@Krieg sorry i dont speak wrong
