I wouldn't put up with this boss to play the Highwayman. What makes you think I'd do it for bogatyr?
High damage? It's got 100% damage negation you need to debuff but since it has 3 attacks per turn, it can lose this fast, so gotta reapply quick. Better hope your entire team is able to hit the front and back rows from ANY position.
Going the DOT? It has high resistances, can mass stun, and will mass stumble, disrupting any flow. And he can heal off the DOT.
I understand the whole point of needing to learn a boss fight. You might not know what the gimmick is ahead of time, so you prepare, and take a chance on what might work. All the main game bosses are like this. No one KNEW the Prophet was hidden behind 3 rows of wreckage when first playing the game.
But you know what the difference is between the mad prophet and this? Even with a bad party that doesn't mesh well with the boss's gimmick, you still have a GOOD CHANCE with some careful planning and a pinch of luck.

like really,bogatyr having a perfect kit to deal with this thing,also not placing torchlight on 0 level
the only problem i have is that he have small damage(would be good to add 1-2 points) and strange trinkets(NO STUN TRINKETS FOR STUN CHARACTER,WHAT AN IRONY)
also after you beat boss, would be good to see what path from stone can do
great second healer that giving buffs and stun.
- Has an incredible design and so much charm in how he portraits winter
- The gameplay of this character its... Strange, so his main gimmick its Stun and Low speed in enemys to gain more damage but it just doesnt work at all, this combo its so hard to do and the damage of the "COMBO" its so poor and mediocre
- The other abillities are very helpful in combat, good healing, buff speed, give stun chance, etc
- AND THE WORST PART OF THE MOD OVER ALL, ITS THE DAMN BOSS. Its just so ridicolous how he spawn in level 2 dungeons, has 3 turns, and almost invencible armor,
The chracacter overall fits so well like a Stress healer tank and defender with his stuns an buffs but the balance is so BAD OMG
I feel like his only good ability is AOE heal, it is strong. Which is... idk, just a bad idea? He might as well be a cook, not a strong sword-wielding guy.
His main gimmick of being a stun character feels so underwhelming. His stun buffs\combo almost never works. And having a strong heal disrupts his combo patterns, as often I would just prefer to use it instead.
He requires some sort of very specific stun heavy party for his stuns\buffs to be useful... and I just can't imagine that sort of party to be good or reliable or fun. Otherwise, he feels like a really weak fighter, which is weird considering his appearance
And then he has that boss fight, where the boss isn't weak to stuns (having 3 turns per round) and basically requiring yet another specific type of party, just crazy
Got this mod from a modpack expanding the game, so far this is the only character I rly want to remove
just edit koschei_A.info.darkest in mod folder and do so with B and C
I really did enjoy having guaranted party kill due to not having consistent way to attack both a boss and a stone
Last time when I ranted was the first time I used a bogatyr and not knowing how the whole thing works (OK, not reading the flashback warning is on me) I got kinda surprised during camping.
Tried out a meme comp based on a 'puller' at the back and stunners at the front and suddenly had this boss with a comp where 2 guys couldn't hit behind rank 2 and 2 could only do it from specific positions. So wanted to flee which was apparently not an option.
I'm willing to use Bogatyr and undertake this challenge if either the number of encounters is finite, so you can get over them and enjoy the class just like with shieldbearer or if at least you can escape if you wanna. Can manage the stress afterwards.
being like "just bring 2-3 range AOE's" is great and all, but do you think a player is going to know that?
the dwimmerlaik is another boss that has this same problem imo. i know its rich to tell darkest dungeon mods to try and be balanced, but let a man dream.
The class itself is awesome, what a frontline vestal should have been with some added stun flavor.
The character itself, I loved.
But the nightmare is just retarded. You can do it if you know the char and bring a perfect comp not for the dungeon but to have an edge over the nightmare. People trying out new stuff with mods won't read wikis and learn everything beforehand, they wanna learn while experiencing the fun of the new stuff.

Bs monster with 3 actions, constant shuffle, aoe stuns, aoe stress etc is not.
And. Why. Can't. You. Retreat. From. The. Fight.

short guide
one of bosses actions can heal DOTs so DOT damage is not the ultimate way of dealing with it, another one makes whole party stumble so be ready for hero postitioning, lastly be ready waste some turns to hit a debuffing stone from time to time (any AOE is fine for the job)
I recommend having some stun resist on party members and a Arbalist or the stress heal on the bogatyr as those clear stuns.
Class is great, love the guy even if he is a bit weak he's tonnes of fun
The nightmare?
Has health comparable to the swine king, with 100% damage resistance (hit the stone in slot 4, gives him a debuff to take more damage)
But he has three actions a turn so that debuff barely lasts
He has a single target nuke
He has a party wide stun and a party wide shuffle debuff
He will obliterate almost every team comp due to those stuns, shuffles, and high damage slaps happening every turn. People will constantly be pulled out of position so it's RNG if you get to use heal or AOE, or if the people you need are stunned
Main problem is since it works like the shieldbreaker nightmare, you cant retreat if its not going well
Putting this boss in a no retreat scenario is absurd, Unless the bogatyr gets on death's door, he will kill multiple of your party members since there's no way to back out. I cant stress enough how terrible that feels
that what gives the boss it's damage reduction buff and every hit adds a damage taken debuff to hit. so Aoe hits are best even if they have low damage the rock takes non anyway but each hit adds 25% ti the increased damage
Really ruins the fun part to be honest. Should've made it able for your party to retreat after an x number of turns because of the god awful resistances that the boss have.
