Honestly I think it's just the nature of the main menu music, I checked the audio file I clipped for the mod and it's real loud, as loud as actual song file and louder than it seems to be when actually used in-game.

The default volume is a bit low. I need to set my computer volume up to 30 to hear the music, but if I do that, I am gonna be deaf due to the extremely loud in game music.
