Now I get and it was really obvious lol thank you for your time and by way any chance we someday get a riotshield + tonfa mod made by you?

That mod replaces the tonfa.
This mod replaces the riotshield.
Those two weapons are not the same.

Even if they were, you can not make them "work together" because both mods edit the weapon model. That means all of the attack anims should either be the ones from his mod, or the one from my mod, unless someone sits down and creates new animations that are a mix of both.

Can you please help me? Im new to L4D2 mods so maybe its something very obvious but im trying to use this mod together with the riotshield + tonfa mod (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3143363511) and it doesnt work, am I doing something wrong? Theres a way to fix it? Or maybe even ask for your own version of a riotshield + tonfa mod? Thanks!

Meaning, if I subscribe to your "Proper Riotshield Texture" mod, will I already have the animations from your "New Riotshield Animations" mod?

you can only see this if you have a "riotshield unlocker" mod installed which edits missionfiles to allow it. Those mods usually also come with the script for it.

If you do have that mod, you can also find it on my campaign edits sometimes.

giving it longer animations makes the thing break in online games.
the hosting server's model defines what animation lengths you have. If your anims are longer than they'r esupposed to be, you can cancel them mid play. If they're shorter than the one on the server, you'll have to wait until you can swing again.

Ah, that explains it. I assume simply extending the animation lengths would just break the mod?

and the description explains why its sped up.
But of course you can just take my actual tonfa mod, hex the names and use that. Which is what i am doing with a separate version.

Problem is, this weapon model exists, with animations. i have to stick to the animation lengths it gave me.

It does work like any other melee weapon.
In terms of, the melee weapon needs to have a script that defines "what, how and where" the melee weapon is/functions.

the game needs to know what model this melee weapon uses, what damage it does, and so on.

Do you need a script to forcibly spawn the riot shield in like that? I thought it worked like any other melee weapon.

I've been trying to spawn in the riot shield and I can't even give it to myself via commands. TUMTARA doesn't wanna work with it. Does anyone know why?
