Been meaning to circle back to this concept. There are some animation slots that reference limbering and unlimbering.

Was just having a quick nosey at your mod and apparently there's invalid reference in land_units_tables

Just here to express a big THANK YOU. Huge DoW fan, and the Galloper Gun is one of those units I wasn't sure would make it in even if CA decided to do a DoW DLC eventually. I really appreciate what you're doing.

They existed in real life and were literally called galloper guns, though. That's what Warhammer based it off, therefore it has the same name.

Only one issue with the mod, the name Galloper guns, sounds really child like, but as they are referenced that child must work for Warhammer its aceptable lol...what would be great is if they had a few 360 degree pistoliers who could defend them while the didi maoi outta a sticky situation. And SFO version would rock cheers

I would think starting the unit as a "war wagon" and only make it fire when it uses an ability "unlimber" that gives it a speed penalty of 100% would make more sense and give it a "limber" ability to increase speed again.

Then again, I know nothing so that could be nigh impossible to do.

Would be a nice mod if it worked like true horse artillery, which can move deploy and then re-limber to escape being overwhelmed. Since the AI automatically seeks to attack missile units, the mod doesn't really do anything but add another immobile artillery unit that is quickly overwhelmed. Pity.

Do note that this is 2 units in one, the Out of battle/Horse Galloper unit is different from the proper cannon unit. The horse one count as a war-machine, while the cannon count as a proper artillery greatcannon. So buffs to cannons shouldn't affect galloper on the campaign map since it benefit from war-machine buffs only.

I am not sure if the game can add the bonuses/xp to the "post-cannon transformation" mid battle?

Checking right now, one of the unit set the cannon part is tied to is "emp_greatcannon", but its only use is to shorten recruit time, but the cannon itself is not recruited I think, it is the horse part that is. Maybe swapping it to the horse part would be better.

one thing i noticed, while playing with Nuln, is that the galloper gun doesnt receive experience chevrons from all the sources it (in my opinion) should. is this intentional for balancing or do i use too many mods?

Since it used the same card as the regular cannon I made this for the SFO to tell them apart, you can probably do better but feel free to use it if you want too.

can i also make a big suggestion that a new pikemen mod is made by you, there was only one from before but it was long lost to the updates, so we need a new one, i mean honestly pikemen are one of the tabletop games most basic empire units yet they do not feature, taht and i just love pike and shot tatcics :D so i will press it to you to make awsome on the replacment :D
