i pulled out the textures myself. i just dont know how to fiddle with uv maps sadly as they are different. i can pay you for your time if so.

I havent imported this exact model in Blender, but Im assuming the issue is the same like any other SFM model imported to blender.
Disable Alpha for normal texture and make sure its set to non-color color space.
For color texture also disable alpha.
Is it possible to either A) Get the correct textures from you if the textures are actually wrong, or B) Get a screenshot of your texture node setup in Blender so I can make this thing work?
You mentioned getting the original author's consent, and I don't know what I need to do, but I just want to be able to use the model for stuff like VRChat or audio visualizers. A quick point in the right direction would help a lot.
