Are we certain this mod doesn't work for 1.4? It worked fine for 1.3 and didn't get updated...

Any chance of an update? I love that this tilled soil that has a fertility slider!
ptrv 28 Oct, 2022 @ 11:58pm

HOORAY A TILLED SOIL MOD WITH BONA FIDE mod settings TO ADJUST THE %! Still works but not set for 1.3? :D
Shinoskay 9 Oct, 2021 @ 3:59pm
theres a mod for that, ramie
Ramie 22 Jul, 2021 @ 12:23pm
Please, it would be nice if the labels for this mod acknowledged that it works with the new version 1.3.
Jalharad 5 Jul, 2021 @ 12:23pm
This mod works with the 1.3 beta that was just released
Spanks Masterson 30 Aug, 2020 @ 3:53pm
Yup, it's been working for me too!
Deceptikahn 30 Aug, 2020 @ 2:08pm
This mod still works in 1.2. At least I haven't had any trouble with it.
Spanks Masterson 30 Aug, 2020 @ 10:04am
I'm gonna try it in my 1.2 game. I'll let you know the results
Ramie 12 Aug, 2020 @ 10:01pm
Please update to 1.2 :)

does this do what Simply Soil used to do? All i want is to be able to place soil without jumping through bullshit hoops to get some stupid dirt materials?
Kangaroo Salesman 16 Jun, 2020 @ 9:06am
Yes very nice thanks!

I was always looking for a way to configure the soil fertility. Thank you for the mod!

Would it be possible to add different soil types? For example:

Fertile Soil: 140%
Tilled Soil: 170 %
Rich Soil: 200%

Fertility configurable in mod settings.

The new type can be behind a research and/or specific rare resources (e.g. jade, gold). You could also add a light color of green (jade) or yellow (gold) for the soil type. I don't know how much effort it is to change the texture.

Having rich soil early is "to strong" overall. However, late game when the space gets limited, I would like to have the option to increase the soil fertility, even if it is expensive.

This mod has a small exploit/oversight that allows you to replace soft sand with dirt, which essentially makes moisture pumps even more useless. Looking forward to the adjustable work times. Great work, easily my new favourite tilled soil mod.
RutraNickers 4 Apr, 2020 @ 10:41am
would be awesome if you could make a option to make the tilled soils need maintenance. It could be like the cheap turret where you need to "repair" it with X you used to built or the tilled could simply "be expired", deleting itself like a plant that died of old age.
ZombieZilla  [author] 4 Apr, 2020 @ 1:44am
I believe it would be possible, and I think its implemented in a few other mods but it uses fertiliser. I'm not too sure if it would work within this mod though.
jjdinkle 4 Apr, 2020 @ 12:51am
Would it be possible for an option of a sort of tilled soil that increases the fertility of each different soil type instead of the one and only static tilled soil? Like Regular Tilled Soil, a Fertile Tilled Soil, Stony Tilled Soil etc. where they all have a multiplier on the base fertility of what it was tilled from? Further example being a 10% increase to fertility would make Fertile Tilled Soil a 154% growth rate from the base %140 un-tilled, while a Regular Tilled Soil would be 110% from the regular 100%.
Still really like the customisation atm as I can make it a fairly tame bonus of like 5% for my own use as a kind of long term goal on the fields.

@Victorraze - Try using 140% fertility with Tilled Soil, then standard Rich Soil, compare the difference.

They have the same fertility, so if you get the same amount, it's fertility affecting the gains.
Blue North Star 2 Apr, 2020 @ 1:51pm
It's probably fertility.
ZombieZilla  [author] 2 Apr, 2020 @ 1:51pm
It shouldn't be affecting harvest yield, it may be something else affecting that.
Victorraze 1 Apr, 2020 @ 4:23pm
Could this be affecting harvest yield as well? I seem to be getting around 350% what I normally would alongside my 350% fertility for my tilled land... Might be a bug on my end, but it seems waaaay to overpowered for my liking.
Blue North Star 31 Mar, 2020 @ 7:46pm
@Moritz - That just makes farming time-consuming. And if you actually want that, it needs to be a setting that we can toggle on or off. Just because you want it, doesn't mean the 700+ other people want it.

https://github.com/ZombieZilla/TilledSoil Heres my github, feel free to take a look and make a pull request.
Galzein 31 Mar, 2020 @ 5:30pm
i would like to have an option so you need to tile the soil every time you plant, can you please add something like that? or do you have a github? i can take a look and made a pull request, and maybe and option to select wich item is needed not only wood, btw nice mod
Malikyte 30 Mar, 2020 @ 10:29pm
So it's Tilled Soil, but with more user-friendly customization options? Sign me up!
Blue North Star 30 Mar, 2020 @ 2:27pm
Nice. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Now i don't need massive map-consuming farms just to feed my army of animals.
ZombieZilla  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 2:23pm
Practically instant growth for most crops, a few with less fertility sensitivity might take a bit longer though.
Blue North Star 30 Mar, 2020 @ 2:19pm
What would the effect be of 10K% Fertility be on a crop? (I've never actually tried using anything but Rich Soil for farming)
ZombieZilla  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 1:40pm
The fertility goes up to 10000%, which is unnecessary and the Tilled has higher default fertility than regular soil, but lower than rich soil. But that can be changed.
Blue North Star 30 Mar, 2020 @ 11:36am
How high can the fertility be set?
And what is the difference from Tilled and Non-Tilled? (Does Tilled have higher natural fertility)
