I was very much inspired by your design, so i made something for you! and every other baserunner build!

Do you think you'd ever consider a multi mod or multi part mod for this so we can use projectors onboard for survival?
AndyInnit⚡⚡ 2 Dec, 2020 @ 7:52am
big grid vehicles are hard to bring to a full stop. the best way, is to incorporate a landing gear on a piston, as a parking brake. for vehicles this size or larger
Jump'n Shootman 5 Aug, 2020 @ 10:29am
thats a big boi

VERY VERY NICE

If you take suggestions, maybe you can look into Project Sylpheed, and make the Delta Sabre or Elen fighters, or better yet, the ships, it has amazing looking ships
OctoBooze  [author] 5 Apr, 2020 @ 2:35pm
Not for a projector no. Subgrids aren't supported by projectors, if you want to build it you may have to make your own bp of the detail parts and build the missing parts off of those onto the rotors on the main chassis.
Gloose 5 Apr, 2020 @ 2:02pm
Any way to properly use a blueprint to install it? Doesnt support multiple grids so only goes for rough outline of rover :(
Whiplash141 4 Apr, 2020 @ 11:35pm
oof, that sucks :(
OctoBooze  [author] 4 Apr, 2020 @ 11:08pm
No doubt SWCS works! PB just locks the entire game for me. Unable to click or exit the menus in it if I open it. Saw threads of others having the same, only Alt + F4 works there lol
Whiplash141 4 Apr, 2020 @ 3:31pm
"I highly recommend incorporating Subgrid wheel control script when Keen fixes Prog blocks"
SWCS is working after the latest hotfix :)
Auren 3 Apr, 2020 @ 5:39pm
Nice work! Much cooler than mine, but I'm not game to do mixed grid.
Moraa 3 Apr, 2020 @ 11:27am
Would help if I read the first pic huh.... /facepalm
Jedi G 1 Apr, 2020 @ 3:29pm
So much YES!! I can't wait to try this out! :lunar2019grinningpig:
OctoBooze  [author] 31 Mar, 2020 @ 10:59pm
I wish you all the best with that project! I've not had good experiences with the torsion script so I went with this style instead, if you can get it working right it'll be much tidier solution indeed.
condottiere 31 Mar, 2020 @ 9:42pm
I just played the campaign again the other day, and was thinking a lot of the baserunner's elements are common in SE. I had only gotten as far as idly pondering a build, and here you are already! :D I'll take it for a spin, and probably take a stab at building one too. I was debating straight large grid w/ 3x3 wheels or small grid w 5x5, but I was planning on using Sunoko's torsion spring script for the torsion bar suspension.
OctoBooze  [author] 31 Mar, 2020 @ 2:10pm
@inmoraa That's because it's the Baserunner from Deserts of Kharak ;)
Sampak 31 Mar, 2020 @ 2:03pm
Yup I had to squint a little to figure out how you got the grill detail in. I remember struggling with that using all large blocks and forgetting completely about the rotor/connector to small block trick hehe
Moraa 31 Mar, 2020 @ 1:44pm
reminds me of whats her names truck from Deserts of Kurak. Looks great!
OctoBooze  [author] 31 Mar, 2020 @ 12:59pm
Thank you! Felt I had to use small blocks to get the distinctive features right but didn't want to build the entire thing out of smalls. Felt this the best approach to that :)
Alpha-5 31 Mar, 2020 @ 3:32am
The way you've integrated the small/large grid is genuinely confusing and I love it. Fantastic engineering as always :)
OctoBooze  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 11:18pm
Trust me Sampak if I didn't have to resort to gyros I would. Technically you can drive it around with wheels only but it's a bit clunky. Gyro/thrust is just a method of making it less tedious, hopefully Keen fixes the prog block and then it's as easy as putting in subgrid wheel control script.
eliteshot 30 Mar, 2020 @ 9:13pm
do you by chance have a none dlc version?
Sampak 30 Mar, 2020 @ 5:19pm
You made my attempt at it look like Megablocks LMAO. I don't like to "Kerbal" the controls with gyros and thrusters for something like a wheels vehicle, but I understand the reasoning. However, I love this rendition. Looks about as good as I could ever imagine making one if I had the talent. :)
The Field Marshal 30 Mar, 2020 @ 4:19pm
i would be looking foward to those prototypes its a fun game even though it doesn't have a sandbox mode atleast in space engineers it can happen.
OctoBooze  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 1:14pm
Carrier is a bit above my dedication level. Knowing myself I would not settle for anything less than a scale match with this making the carrier absolutely colossal, way beyond what's reasonable. But I've been toying around with the idea of the smaller vehicles like LAV, AAV and Railgun tanks, might take up prototyping them soon :)
Effenheimer 30 Mar, 2020 @ 1:11pm
Nice! As a fan of the Homeworld series I must say I approve!

Any plans on doing a carrier? I started a project months ago but gave it up since I'm completely terrible at working in large grid. I understand why you did the details in small grid.
OctoBooze  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 6:24am
You can strip the DLC off and build your own interiors if the use of them is nonsense to you, after all you're an engineer. Better yet download the 2014 version of the game if you want true puritan experience.

I'm allergic to DLC discussion because as a builder who builds for my own fun, and post on workshop to save my builds for posterity more than for clicks or to appease a crowd and get subs... I just like showing things off because I feel proud of them and want to share and it's honestly disheartening to hear that I used evil wrong blocks and that I should stick to vanilla and sometimes even been called trash for using them. How Keen distributes new blocks is out of the hands of the builders so don't take your frustration on the builders but the devs on the forums. Time and place for everything.
Voss 30 Mar, 2020 @ 2:58am
No Mods/No Nonsense
the worst of puritans will disagree, using three DLCs, lmao

Nice job on the build, Octo
one of the best re-creations i've seen so for :D
akaalexandermax 30 Mar, 2020 @ 12:56am
damn fine rover
OctoBooze  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 12:23am
Sometimes. I find rovers more fun but I do space as well from time to time
reaperox1999 30 Mar, 2020 @ 12:21am
OctoMoose, you seem to be a really good designer, do you do space ships as well?
OctoBooze  [author] 30 Mar, 2020 @ 12:02am
Oops... Fixed! Thanks for letting me know! :)
guh-huh 29 Mar, 2020 @ 11:57pm
The beds are upside down compared to everything else
OctoBooze  [author] 29 Mar, 2020 @ 11:34pm
Should make the S'jet sciencerunner variant, can't be that hard :D
Daniel Lee Howell 29 Mar, 2020 @ 11:27pm
Looks just like the baserunner. Rachel S'Jet would be proud.
⎝⧹Greedynuf⧸⎠ 29 Mar, 2020 @ 8:57am
Wow
sauron2012 29 Mar, 2020 @ 7:26am
Believe me it was worth. :D
OctoBooze  [author] 29 Mar, 2020 @ 7:13am
Thanks! Took a while to get it looking right :)
sauron2012 29 Mar, 2020 @ 6:55am
Impressive front design. Most impressive.
