Right now, using CBE main, proper effects, and this I’m seeing very little blood on the units, no fountains or explosions of blood, and VERY little blood on the ground (like these tiny decal specks in high combat areas).
Is that how it’s supposed to be?
I like my units not being covered, I don’t mind the lack of fountains and explosions, but I want blood and gore on the ground.
Hi, verify if you have deleted correctly every related mod files into your game data folder, if you've put some file here.
Otherwise look if you have a folder named "2043509327" into "...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\594570", if yes delete it.
For bloodsprays, it's not really easy to do, look my 2 comments bellow for more details.
But if you want more blood on models like in vanilla, it's not that hard, look the FAQ for the instructions. ;)
Yes, but you must use the Vanilla compatible version (or the Beta 3).
setting stream_pulse, stream and core_spurt to "true" does the trick.
many thx
If you want to spread more decals too like more gore in this situations, it's a bit more tricky, but the most simple way is to add some decals paragraphs set up like this (you can play with the scale too):
<vfx inst_name= [...] infinite_life="false"> (I recommend left them on false for that case)
<emitter name="..._decal_..." [...] />
</vfx>
You have different type of decals contained into paragraphs that you can find into the files (you can take a look into beta 3 if you want, that is really more close to more gore, you can use its lines on the new versions without trouble, except performance drop)
If you add them into "wh_dlc02_blood_dismember_..." that don't have the mention "onground", they will appears when they are hit and dismembered, if you add them on the file with the mention "onground", they will appear once their body on the ground.
Add decals on these files can really easily overload the engine and make crashes and huge performance drop.
Hey thank you.
You probably must look to "wh_dlc02_blood_dismember_..." files (without the mention "onground") and change the "scale_min" and "scale_max" values of the "main_blood" paragraphs that contain "splash_drops", "dust", "stream_pulse" and "splash".
keep it up and thank you for your work !
Beta 3 and Beta 5.x should be compatible with SFO.
WIP Beta 6.x is not compatible with overhauls for now.
Beta 3 is close to More Gore + Less Blood Less Gore, Beta 5 and higher are re-made from zero to improve performances. So they are not so close of More Gore anymore.
Personally im only really interested in the increased and permenant ground blood decals.
Which i enjoy very much btw :)
Thank you very much.
Yes I would be here for Wh3, I already pre-order it. ;)
About the 6.4 WIP version, sorry but it's almost incompatible with any mods that change the vanilla units' stats like many overhauls, etc. It's only compatible with Vanilla + CBE (not vanilla alone).
I plan to do a compatible version for SFO and vanilla alone at the end, if I finish it one day...
To install it, it's very simple. Remove the ".bak3_beta6_4" at the end of the file and overwrite the downloaded workshop file with it. ^^
"...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\594570\2043509327"
Currently the Beta 5 version is incomplete, the infinite blood decals mainly affect infantry, not every unit type. Not every decals are infinite too.
If you want more complete version try Beta 3 or WIP Beta 6.4, but this WIP version is for now incompatible with mod like overhaul or everything that use battle entities tables (wak/run speed, acceleration, charge, projectile penetration resistance, ...)
Yes they are compatible with SFO, only the Beta 6.x of the WIP thread doesn't work with SFO for now.
That's more twisted than I expected, it must be a pain to mess with!
Maybe a decent solution would be to get rid entirely of decals for those units that don't have dismemberment. I think unless there are 2 stacks with monsters only fighting each other, nobody will notice and the performance gain will be big.
Yes I think it also impact performances, but not as much as the decals, and not over time. Textures that stack over and over during all the battle (or fights) are the true issue for me.
In fact it's really an issue for all units that don't have dismemberment, like the monsters, because I can't use death to apply infinite decals. I must apply decals for every hit, it's not really an issue in vanilla because they are not infinite and not many, but here, it's another story to deal with that.
I must look unit by unit to mitigate that, to remove some of them of certain category and also keep their dismemberment properties through their own new category.
For exemple, direwolves can be dismembered, but they also use cavalry properties that cannot be dismembered. So if I add blood for the cavalry, direwolves have decals for each time they are hit and also when they are dismembered and died. That's make a huge amount of decals with a huge performance impact. (and a awful look)
You can simply subscribe like any other mods to have the main version, if you don't understand how to manage external versions. Otherwise, install's instructions for external versions are into the description, it's not as difficult as it looks.
Found where the steam workshop have installed the mod, replace the file by one of the external ones depending of what you want/like, and enjoy. ;)
Yes, except the Beta 6.x into the WIP thread for now.
I think I can't do anything for that, it's probably because of the number of decals stacked (or due to the terrain shape). If I reduce their number, that would probably return close to vanilla again. I will try to improve that aspect after I have covered every units correctly on Beta v5+.
Just to be sure which Beta version do you use ?
What do mean ? There no dust changes it's a blood addon.
I'm glad you like it ;)
Thank you, I will finish it one day, I've not been really productive these months ^^'
Hi, Beta 3 can works with SFO, otherwise Beta 5 Vanilla Version should also works with SFO without CBE because they don't change the same tables. ;)
Next version should probably become incompatible with SFO but I will do a compatible version at the end.
It's a little bit complexe for now because the mod is not done yet.
This mod works but it's a beta, so it's not finish yet.
The current version don't cover all units, but you have in description some alternative versions like the Beta 3 that cover all units.
Unfortunately Beta 3 versions don't have good performances for now.
I hope that is more simple to translate, sorry I don't speek chinese and I'm not really good with english too. ;)
Blood is infinite like you can see here [i.imgur.com] after 20 min, only keep it mind that Beta 5 is on early stage, so not everything is covered correctly because I started again from zero. You have the Beta 6 a little bit more advanced into the WIP thread based on the same new branch.
If blood are not infinite on your side try to put the file into your game data folder, remove it to uninstall.
If you want a bloody version that cover everything for now use Beta 3 versions instead, here you could clearly see the differences with every units compared to vanilla but at perf cost too, I restart the mod from zero with Beta 5 to solve the perf issues, but it takes time to do.
I'm currently working on a doomrocket impact mod that take me more time than I expected now but when I will finish I will come back on this mod.
If you want more blood on units, you can also remove the more "realistic" blood map, you have a tutorial in description.
Vanilla almost seems more gory when i look at my screenshots o.O
Sorry for the late reply I was really busy these days.
I will look all of that later, for now I fight with the decals and performances.
