лучше все файлы с академией из игры удалить. Бесит один квест от академии который даёт флот , а потом ИИ этот Флот ставит себе в ангар и систему где находится этот флот невозможно захватить.

See you say that but the academy still goes sickomode and honeslty I coudlnt tell they updated it. Good to know if the mod is borken or not though.

You don't need this mod because the devs changed the academy itself in an update this year. No shit it doesn't work and isn't needed anymore.

Sadly, can confirm this is preventing games from starting, at least in some cases. tested by enabling/disabling this specifically in the mod order, and starting a game as nakalim (game won't start with this mod enabled, starts otherwise).

Still works great, Bloom. I usually load mods like this after combat mods like Better AI Infinite to make certain they take effect. Tygart really coded this well, I've not had any problems with it.

There's a really nasty bug in vanilla Awakening where on Endless difficulty the AI, drowning in influence, will convert and then return the system to the Academy over and over. Completely hangs the game.

Is this mod still working in 2023? I've been debating getting into the game but the way people talk about this DLC in particular has always pushed me away before i got far in.

That's stock, when setting up a game click the plus for advanced options under gameplay. There's an option to make animation speed 2x or 4x under time management there.

Meanwhile, hope this works as advertised, I'd love to actually be able to use the Nakalim.

I didn't mean the actual engines or warp drives. I know you can research and add better modules. I mean the actual speed of the animation on survey probes or the animation speed of ships moving through warp lanes etc? I remember it being far faster on my old computer. @tygart

You can modify ships and probes to move farther but not faster from what I can remember.

This may be a silly question but do you know how to speed up ship animations etc in game haha? Ships and probes take way too long to move around work and I want the game more fast paced. I just got back into the game and can't see the option anywhere.

@Qareen I think you can disable DLCs both in steam and in endless space 2, its not going to get your money back or let you play the new faction but it'll at least fix your game.

Did you actually enable the mod in the game menu before starting your current game? Cuz it works perfectly for me. It sounds like you don't have it turned on at all, Qareen.

Correction, I cannot return the dlc.. because I have played it (far) longer then 2 hours.
Shoot.. I really wish this mod was working.
I really have grown to love Endless Space 2.. but I wish I had not purchased either of the two most recent dlcs.. oh well.

idk.. I am seriously thinking about even trying to return this dlc which I would not consider if this mod was still working. :/

In my current game, The Academy faction just colonized a planet in my system, outside of theirs.
Still, thank you for your effort making this. I guess game was updated since last time you updated it.

Does this mod work on existing saves? Also How much weaker is the fleet? I'm not very far into the game and these dudes show up attacking me with 8k attack power ships.

@ Cruelty: Vodyani quest line with the awakening DLC works fine. With this academy nerf mod where the academy is friendly and not attackable, one branch of the vodyani quest line (the neutral branch making you attack the academy,, not the religious branch) isn't achievable. Is this mod necessary? No but if you get academy speared a few times it might change your mind.

after this expansion came out I turned it off since the academy was overpowered and the vodyani faction quest broken, did they still never fix it? or is this mod absolutely necessary?

Additionally Tygart I just played as nakalim with academy nerf and it does allow me to gift systems under my empires influence to the academy so perhaps replacing the gift 4 systems mission to the research the two techs isn't necessary. This would then give a different choice at this mission branch instead of having three choices all of which are "research evap inhibs and climate engineering. Gifting systems give you a small bonus to resources without going over your colonization cap. Only thing enemies can't attack them and take them since academy is friendly. Not sure what would be best for balancing (multiplayer too)

Tygart, So i did some testing with vodyani and their questline involving the academy system mission called hope in heresy part 2 and i think your implementing the nakalim mission change would work here as well to preserve the questline with your academy nerf mod.

With no mods and with awakening turned OFF (and no need for academy nerf mod) it prompts you to capture the academy system which is achievable and if the academy system is destroyed when you reach this mission being issued it goes to an alternate mission to build the ancillary academy (unique improvement that looks like a proto academy) so you can only achieve one of these missions without awakening DLC.

With awakening turned ON and no mods, the capture the academy mission changes to "humiliate the academy by taking it's systems and destroying its fleets. Achieve a minimum of 1000 in reparations" which again is still possible to do by destroying fleets and invading and turning into hunting ground. After this mission is completed it then goes onto the build the ancillary academy mission as well so you get two questline rewards whereas without awakening it's one or the other.

Now when i run awakening and academy nerf, the achieve 1000 dust in reparations mission cannot be completed since i can't attack the academy fleet or assault the academy system because they are friendly forever. If it's possible to change the quest to "build the ancillary academy in one of your systems" instead of "destroy academy fleets to get reparations" this would complete the questline since this is the last one in the quest tree.

I hope this change is possible to preserve the questline bonuses for the vodyani. Thank you in advance. You are a gentleman and a scholar!

Tygart. Masterful fix you made in regard to the nakalim quest line. I totally forgot that one of the other choices for the quest line besides take over the academy was to gift systems to the academy which wouldn't be possible since academy nerf only allows them to have a single system. All the choices work and i'm very happy! You fixed it perfectly and still retained the choice of bonuses for the quest. Bravo good sir. Now onto some vodyani testing.

Also on a related note i don't know if it's still an issue but i've heard 6 months ago that the vodyani even with no mods and awakening enabled cannot finish their faction quest to take over the academy as the raze option isn't available after ground assaulting the academy. I'll test this as well and let you know if this vodyani bug is still there, perhaps a similar change can be made to the vodyani quest line so it doesn't stall that choice line of the faction quest since the academy is not assaultable with academy nerf. Give me a day or two and i'll get back to you.

Thanks for this. It's definitely needed. I was mid-war in an Endless game against the Cravers, and I couldn't attack two of their colonies due to them being in the goddamn Academy's influence zone.

Thank you! Had to cancel the whole mod because of the Academy. Between the Spear imbalance and the annoyance of Academy fleets/planet taking killing my quests it was extremely annoying!

EXCELLENT.....lock them academy beothches down!...what was Amplitude thinking? You craft the perfect game through the miserable limitations of the 'settings' and you have this overpowered, overdeveloped INTERLOPER that shouldn't be in your tiny universe screwing up what could be perfection. There should be an on/off Switch, but since there is not, thank you for an alternative.
