You need to open common/species_archetype/00_species_archetypes.txt and add the following line to the robotic pop, just like it looks in the machine pop.

robotic = yes

Fixed the issue for me, Darkly.

There is a bug where robot pops are not being able to be built even with the appropriate technology. there is a fix from what I read online having to do with an update to stellaris where the species_archetype file needs to be edited to allow the robot species to be included for some reason. I have no idea when it comes to actual modding. but yeah. would be appreciated if this could be fixed

Um, maybe add some/any form of list on what this actually adds??
