Upgrade Empire artillery with artillery guard, so they can better defend themselves if they get into melee, still out shined by most infantry but now they wont get gooned by zombies or skavenslaves?

I tested it and I lost oathgold, not really sure why it woudn't charge the player.

That fixed it cheers! One thing I see is that the oathgold doesn't get used up. Is that intentional or is a local bug for me do you think?

It's odd, these interact very oddly with Thoreks skills. Upgrading decreased their strength by a lot.

I did not know that the dwari can do that with there cast metal artillery peaces though the one of stalking for something that can't be piratical in a way due to the noise of the thing while moving and firing if it uses gunpowder or otherwise but that's interesting all the same.

FYI, it now completely works in an ongoing game. Both banners, and also Thorek's skills that weren't working (though I thought that wasn't caused by this mod, so didn't bring it up). Thanks!

Updated:
Fixed the bonuses from the latest DLC like the banners not applying. From some testing this may require a new game, but I'm not sure (but won't crash or anything like that).

The mod works by adding new units (each combination of runes is a whole new unit). I gave those units vanilla land unit stats. If some other mod changes the vanilla artillery stats, I'd have to make a submod for the stats of my units to match those.

This is only a problem for land_units table. For other tables like projectiles this isn't a problem since I can just link to those other tables, and if some other mod changes those, my units get those changed tables automatically.

It's possible I can remake this mod now with the new unit upgrade mechanics added with the Grom DLC, but it'd actually be a lot of work that I'm not currently too keen on.

Hmm, why would using a unit mod affect this mod? I am a bit confused. Do you edit projectiles (or whatever relevant file is concerned when it comes to ranged damage) files?

Then you have a mod that changes unit stats from vanilla. This would need a separate compatibility submod for that mod. This is in the description.

I just noticed a significant decrease in my Artillerys Damage in the stats-panel after applying a rune. After applying another rune in the same turn (so no loss of ranks as it was already 0) the damage decreased further...
Is this intentional? And y not in the description?

Someone else is gonna make the scap mechanic for all dwarf units, it's actually very easy to do and doesn't even require scripting. Every race is gonna get it, you'll see. I have some of my own ideas for what I could do with it, but there are going to be a lot of different mods with this.

Hmm - would you be able to add a special unit card for your upgraded goblobbers, that's just the goblobber with its chevrons added? The chevrons wouldn't have the usual tag box, but it would be an indication that they're till rank 9.

Regiments of Renown units don't gain XP. Your upgraded unit is still rank 9, I just compared the stats with the unupgraded version ingame. This is related to it being a RoR, and it's just a visual bug, but now I'll have to check if there are some other consequences like being able to get another Gob-Lobber.

Alo, I upgraded the Gob-Lobber with Accuracy and penetration. It reset to 0 exp, and now won't gain exp. I assume the former is an engine limitation like with general upgrading units, but can you at least fix the whole 'never gain exp' thing?

I accidentally selected multiple artillery units when giving one a rune and it deleted all of them except one. Feels like a engine limitation in my limited experience, but figured i'd post it.

For comparison, do you know how much +accuracy EXP ranks give war machines, like cannons and grudge throwers? Like, do they get +5 per ranks, or whatever?

hey, first of all: great mod! dwarf engineering on top!
Something annoyed me though, the engineer workshop and the engineers guildhall asre kind of screwed up. they list every different version of the different artillery pieces. its a list that goes on to infinity and beond!. In the guild workshop chain it just lists that the artillery pieces can be build, like it should be in my opinion.

i have a suggestion for the armor piercing rune: it should also improve the explosion damage. the armor piercing rune of the flame cannon is just for the models the actual flameball hits (i think). i usually take the flamecannon to oblitherate stuff like stormvermin, extra armor piercing explosion damage would just hit the right spot :D. it's a hidden table though, so i didn't thoughy test it.

I have a bunch of ideas of what I could do with this system that I'd like to do. Losing all your experience ranks sucks though, and it's something I can't change, and can only beg CA to allow a way to get around that.

Loving it so far, definite adds flavor. This can be translated to regular units, not just for dwarfs but others factions as well, can create your own "unique regiment of renown."

Loved this idea. It can be applied in different forms to other units as well. I personally didn't want to be able upgrade my swordsmen to greatswords but using upgrades like you did with this mod seems awesome mate. Hope you will add more mods like this. Good job and thanks for all the hard work u have put in these mods.

FYI, SFO has the ability to add runes for each type of dwarf unit (in the tech tree) :)
