I would draw water from uphill, anywhere that seems both stable and full, and dump sewage at the furthest possible corner down hill. Try to avoid putting water pumps near dams, because both will mess with each other's water rights.

What's the best way to handle water and sewage for this map?
TinkerBell  [author] 22 Mar, 2021 @ 3:49pm
Awesome! Enjoy!
LawDawg 22 Mar, 2021 @ 3:26pm
Yep. It took 2 game years to calm the waters. Seems fine now.
As far as the rail connections go... I plan to use this map for a multi-level futuristic city anyway.
So, I can just put the stations anywhere. Floating in the air or attached between 2 buildings at 200 feet. Anything's possible in the future. :-)

Thanks!!! Great work for both !!

Big Yes for the Train and Metro Roundabout, since I enjoy the most building public transport systems in this game! :)
TinkerBell  [author] 30 Aug, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Work is coming along nicely on the new map's transportation network. Thank you jccmarkes and BaronVonSuff for making it clear to me that I planned the rail network poorly. How does a train and metro roundabout sound? ;)

Thank you very much for this map. Very excited to see the upcoming new map :)

Final update? I reduced the water flow a bit. Should stop the flooding.

I learned a lot making this map. I thank you all for your insight and feedback. It pains me to say that I will no longer be updating this map... To make the changes needed to really address all the issues / mistakes, I will need to start from scratch.

And so... I will be starting from scratch on a new map in the coming weeks. I have some more time lately and a really neat idea came to me a few days ago and I've been thinking about how it could work... and I think it's time to start seeing what I can do with it.

I only have issues with the trains and metros... How can you place a train station if all the tracks go underground? For the industry it makes things quite dificult... and for the metro well with so much tunnels i can understand how to build the metro lines. (can metro and trains share the lines?) But regards that its a beautifull map and i love to play in it, its just bad that i had to ruin some part of the layouts to put my stations, hubs, and the ones to carry the goos through train...

Congrats for all the work you've put in to this map, it looks awesome!
Unfortunally, I had an issue with it being too heavy and wasn't able to play it. I have some mods and assets on (and DLCs) so, when I load this map with them on, CS won't properly work and I hadn't barely past the first day after letting the game run for 1h.
Ik I probably run more of a stress test instead of regular game with all the stuff that I have on, but this was the first map I loaded that was so affected by them that I wasn't able to play at all. Maybe you could have a look into it and see how to make it a bit more lighter?
I'll be happy to provide any further info you may need, including pc specs or mod/asset list :)

First of all respect for the work you've put into this map! I like the design and layout and I've playing with it for a bit now. One thing I've noticed is that despite having a really clean looking transport layout, there is no "default" point to put train stations. I've added them myself of course, but that requires ugly additions to the otherwise nice layout. Or maybe I just don't get where you intended to have train stations XD Do you have an example perhaps or if there haven't been any thought towards this, do you have any future plans for "aesthetic" station placement? :-)

ok will try that
many thanks for ur amazing work
TinkerBell  [author] 16 Apr, 2020 @ 5:44am
Probably. I guess just delete all the bottom dams. That's what folks are saying. The flooding went away for me eventually. All they do is stabilize the water a bit for downstream but they're really extra and unnecessary.

@TinkerBell

Hi you have don an AMAZING JOB

the flooding is the water keeps coming over the land over and over
i fast forward the game hoping it will settle but that did not fix it

should i just delete all dams ?

thanks
TinkerBell  [author] 15 Apr, 2020 @ 3:32pm
I cannot / do not know how to change the map's theme. It is what it is. Can you be more specific about the flooding that won't go away that only you seem to be experiencing at this time david?
Saskdevil 15 Apr, 2020 @ 12:30pm
Great map! I have been loving it. I would recommend deleting the outer dams. My waters settled much faster. I have a question/request for you to consider. Could you change the map theme? it is set to European and it just does not have that big city look. Any chance you could take it off the Europeans theme?
Tristan 15 Apr, 2020 @ 10:37am
Amazing map amazing work

But this flooding wont go away :steamsad:
TinkerBell  [author] 14 Apr, 2020 @ 2:44pm
To fix the flooding if you're on the previous version: Delete the outer ring of hydro dams from the top tier of their respective islands and place them on the next to the last tier. They should snap right in. OR you can delete them outright. They serve to stabilize the water flow. In their former position they are doing the opposite of their job. Just delete them / move them down 2 steps.

Perfect, flooding gone confirmed.
Liryk 12 Apr, 2020 @ 5:01pm
I made my city in 12th before the update, now I updated the map, do I still need to start a new save? Still a problem with flooding is here....
Marsilia13 12 Apr, 2020 @ 2:00pm
same problem

Nice. I always love finding incredible maps like this and seeing the secrets behind them. I've learned there is no "perfect map" for everyone, but there is always a perfect map "for me" and I like big flat areas with water for ports and fishing galore while having traffic and rail enter all 4 sides of the map with an external ring just outside the 25 to distribute traffic more evenly.

It shows you put a lot of work into this. I hope you get many donations!
TinkerBell  [author] 11 Apr, 2020 @ 7:06pm
Some combination of mods. I do not know which. Is overpowered, no? Did you know these roads are also tax free? As long as you don't modify them you don't pay upkeep costs on them, yet fully zoneable.
Sol 11 Apr, 2020 @ 6:27pm
How did you create standard roads in asset editor?
