They exist in lwotc and are straight bullshit. Theres a mod on the discord for them to be compatible for pods.

you can use XSkin to reskin it over a weapon :P
though having it as an unlock-able weapon would be pretty cool I won't lie ^^;;
(probably as an early tier 2.5/3 weapon like the light Plasma rifle)

@Ace I have an idea regarding the prototype rifle. One possibility is to make it a possible dropped item that can not be researched like Advent General Revamp's golden pistol. Make the chance very low, like five percent.

1) didn't react to Weapon Disable (still shot)
2) still zeroed in after getting panicked on its first shot

on second thought, I think my game gave them Marauder (free first shot, like rangers) so perhaps that was the real problem.

That being said, I love the idea of a "Suicide Ranger" that sometimes decides to stay and fight instead of moving to cover, thanks to (over)confidence in Zero In.

With Rapid Fire and Zero In combined, I feel like these are too OP to be at force level 4. I also got rid of anything to do with rapid fire. It's mainly about pod activation chains. You already have the mechanic that suggests that they stand still and fire twice, which will almost definitely be at the same target (with zero in).

Their autopsy could give you automatic inspiration/research credit for the Plasma Weapons tech or something similar.

Enemies don't use voice packs the same way Xcom units do, it's tied to their unit archetypes.

You could circumvent the the balancing issue of balancing rewards by having the investigation yield a unique Rifle and thats it. Or perhaps enabling the fabrication or another type gear: How about unique ammo rounds? Tygan: "With out current technological level, im afaid we unable to replicate the Unique weaponry wielded by Death Troopers, however, our research has enabled us the replicate the advanced ordinance and adapted it to use with our own weaponry"

A vest that poisons near by enemies when hit and grants poison immunity would make for a unique reward/autopsy (pretty much a poison version of the flame vest in the base game).
