Variation suggestion: XCOM default weapons are big bulky guns that have a noticable size difference from the resistance firearms. Therefore, going with the lighter and smaller weapons grants better aim but hit light, while the bigger guns have bigger damage output, at the cost of aiming ability. Gives some very interesting strategic depth, Canonically makes sense because recruits would be given the old world surplus rifles that are easy to hit with, while trained XCOM can use the heavy weapons designed to defeat alien armor.

Appreciate the extra effort, thanks.

I just looked at the mod files for Resistance Firearms. The mod author created their own data stat tables for those weapons, so I will be updating this mod to include those. You can subscribe for now and you will see the updates in your game later.

Not sure -- if that mod uses the base-game weapon charts for weapon stats, then yes it will automatically work. But if the mod author created new weapon charts specifically for those weapons, then no, it will not affect them - but I will make a note and check to see how they are set up. If they have their own charts, I'll include them in this mod.

Does this mod apply to weapon mods like Resistance Firearms?

Oh, I personally know nothing about XCOM 2 modding besides how to edit configs! :) But you're welcome, hopefully Iridar can help. I just know about it because I've got his mod tweaking autopistol damage and another mod tweaking regular pistol damage, as I thought they weren't quite 'punchy' enough to make Gunslinger builds viable.

Thanks for the info. I will check and see if I can do that then. If you ever manage to figure out a way to edit the other weapons, would you let me know?

Interesting idea! Iridar's Autopistol Overhaul mod allows editing of autopistol damage and aim values via config, so presumably it's possible, maybe you could ask him how to do it?

Only XCOM weapons.

Yeah that is disappointing. Theoretically, someone could "re-make" those weapons with mods and just replace them but I don't know how to do that just yet. (Still new to modding)

It does suck that the faction hero weapons cant be changed. You'd think they woulda fixed that by now haha

Yes definitely! I think it is better for hit for a little bit less damage, than to not hit at all. it could mean the difference between saving your soldiers or not.

tbh I probably wont mind the reduced damage. The satisfaction of actually hitting attacks will counter that haha

Interesting, no longer 5-6 shots missed at point blank range or any range. Actual damage will incur making the game a lot more tactical, it would seem. Curious to see how this works with increased critical damage, kill shots, advent, and so on.
