Yes, but you'll need to type the name of the particle effect in since the tool doesn't seem to find the addon. One name I know is this: "grenade_mortar_explode_large". The only way I know of to find the names is through Black Mesa's Hammer Editor, where you can place an info_particle_system and browse the names through there.

yes, it does work for bm_c4a3d1. it loads the nihilanth's portal particle effects as well as other ones.

This is the only guide that I personally found (after I figured it out myself !WHA!) that actually tells you how to mount the steam version of black mesa.
