if there is a way for compatibility patches to be added, on top of collections, to fix any issues then maybe that can be an option.
all i know is that (for me at least), large self contained modpacks have enabled me to enjoy and experience a wide range of mods, that i wouldnt have been able to play (due to mod launcher issues), as well as stability that no single mod out a bunch of dependencies, is suddenly going to break etc.
there are some disadvantages to it, but also some benefits to the 1 big self contained mod approach, especially when some modders ive seen, have openly mentioned that they dont have the time to address compatibility problems. (its a mixed blessing i guess, but even me as a modder for other games, id still welcome someone to include my mods in a big pack... as long as they didnt start charging people for it, since i dont currently charge anything myself :)
LordOfLa does it this way, and the modding community is quite accepting of him.
This is not how you do modpacks."
hi james, a lot of people seem to wish that modpackers get permission to put mods in packs.
it now looks like this is what is happening..
is there 'any' scenario where you would actually welcome and approve of coulson or others making modpacks?
oh my thought was just to try and help some players to be able to try this modpack so they dont miss out, after seeing some comments about not being able to revert to 2.6.2 on steam, because i have been enjoying it a lot and wouldnt have otherwise been able to try out lots of mods due to some issues with the launcher. (can only play big mods like this and startrek new horizons), but if this mod does actually work on 2.6.3 (then that is fair enough, its probably worth trying it for anyone who hasnt yet, just in case).
is there a well known tool for patching 1 folder (with nested folders) like a diff-tool?
if so, there might be a way to change your stellaris version to match the required version of this mod.
the concept would be something like this:
- get the oldest mostly likely match for this mod, which looks like 2.6.3 verne
(or if enough people ask paradox nicely to include 2.6.2, they might)
- use a diff /patching tool to convert your 2.6.3 game folder to 2.6.2
- and play using 2.6.2 by only downloading and updating a much smaller amount of megabytes due to patching.
the only tool im aware of is Quick Par (and i know it works) but there are over 500 Folders to run this manually in. If the difference using Corz/checksums ends up showing that only some folders have different checksums, then i dont mind manually runnning them to create small patches if it helps you.
At Nova try 2.6 version and see if it works for you. If not, I guess I was lucky when I was able to get it.
The developer Coulson (Tha Man)* has said he is working on a new Reborn. It will be called Stellaris: Reborn III The Return of The Coulsons ;)
Not sure if this is the same problem as you Sanguinius Hereticus. Try that. Hope it works.
Thanks.
This mod is great. We need it.

Believe and you will be saved, try rolling back to the proper version and see what happens. Problem is anything released after that version I believe will not work.
in "00_L_critters.txt" i had to add these lines of text:
range = 25
cooldown = 0.5
damage = { min = 7 max = 10 }
(it now works and i am still slightly modifying things so that unlocking that tech and building the weapons is useful, but not over powered, however, i havent worked out what causes the weapon itself to have 5000 base power, which seems to multiply Fleet Power by about 200k) :) so diplomatic weight is still way off but at least my ships can now use it :)
