Would it be possible to make them earn experience by exploring as well? I'd love to see that added, right now the few mods doing that are either broken or not working at all. "1 exp for 2 tiles" only works for host; "recon units get experience" doesn't work at all, and a third one that used to exist disappeared :(

@Elrondir Gaming.TTV @Kenraali Works fine for me (recon units ignoring terrain penalties from hills, forest, and jungle). It doesn't apply to embarkation, marsh, and crossing a river, but i don't think it is intended to do that. I have a lot of mods (170), and they don't cause difficulty with this mod.

the ability to ignore terrain isn't from a promotion (when using this mod). Look for a mod that changes somehow recon units themselves, for the conflict.

@Elrondir Gaming.TTV Same here. The only mods I have that alter promotions in any way are EpsTweak for promotion heals, Nere's Rockband mod, and Spy Promotions. Nothing that changes Recon units.

Don't know if anybody else has had this problem but my units still have the movement penalty in Forest, Rainforest and Hills.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the answer and saving me from the onerous Mod Compatibility process. I use a number of your mods (well done, and thank you) and I like this one a lot, but the Better Promotions is so much better than the vanilla promotions that I gotta go down this road, especially if I'm gonna try out the Cree this time. Thanks for everything, Eps.

Oh, and I do agree with one commentator that the Survivalist promotion should apply to all units, not just Barbarians. (Nobody likes 'wasted' promotions.) Radiant makes his bonus +6, which is I think correctly powerful as opposed to OP (though that applies to all situations, so I don't think +10 is out of the question for your mod), and it really only adds to their "survivalbility" not power. Historically, recon units were great act extricating themselves from difficult situations and were rarely caught and wiped out.

I have no idea? My best guess would be: no. Because this mod deletes some entries from the promotion table.

@Eps, I'm having the same issue as Blackeye, the mod doesn't work for me. I tried to disable/enabling it. Also tried to resubscribe to it.

@Eps of course I did started the game with mods, not adding it after. Checked on multiple starts, the movement of all units is standard.

Can you make survivalist apply to just defending in general? Yes, It's really nice when you need to fight barbs but when you not, it feels like wasting a promotion.

No you don't need forms and plurality.
You just have to delete the german part out of GameText.xml (because you made a copy LocalizedText.xml)
In LocalizedText.xml you just have to replace the word "row" with "replace"
a row will look like that:

In the text file you have to change the german translation lines "Row" with "Replace". Sorry for that mistake.

Doesn't work for me. GS & R&F are here, mod is here and enabled, but scouts movement points is 3 and promotions are original. No other mods installed except yours and map tacks with builder charges display.

I expect they are now harder to catch if you want to prevent spawning of barbarian units in camps.

ok, sorry to bother you on this. I just realized the +20 combat strength promotion is part of the base game. My bad. It's the standard game that isn't balanced, not your mod.

Okihtcitaw start with a free promotion. With 2 more promotions, you can be rocking the +20 combat strength. Getting level 3 (and the +20 ccombat strength) is not "very hard".

I was playing with the mod that gives double XP for scouts revealing new terrain. It was easy to get a 3,3,4 Okihtcitaw in the early game (before archery).

I learned this cheese when I played against the Cree, and the AI had two level 7 Okihtcitaw.

Regardless, I like your mod, and it works great. Just thought it could use a little tweak.

Works well. I'd just suggest that the promotion that grants +20 combat strength is a bit OP. Especially if you have the Cree's unique scout the Okihtcitaw which has base 20 combat strength (and a free promotion). OP can be fun, but just a heads up.

As far as I can tell, R.E.D only affects the visual aspect of the units. Whereas mine only affects the gameplay aspect. So they should in theory work together out of the box?
