Very cool ideia, tks, just like the others
Ripz 12 Feb, 2022 @ 10:34pm
@zlatky if you havent even seen a meteor, you sure you have the DLC enabled? it requires the maya dlc.
zlatky 8 Dec, 2021 @ 4:01pm
Soz, but this mod ain't working for me atm...: Just completed a full (new) campaign, and I didn't see a singe meteor falling from the sky, etc. Could this be incompatible with some other mods, or am I missing something? :-/
Sailor Cat  [author] 20 Jul, 2021 @ 3:31pm
It's possible.

Good first steps to reduce desyncs include:

1. Make sure everyone has the same version of the mods.
2. Have the person with the slowest PC host the game.

Is it possible that this mod causes online data to be out of sync?
Sailor Cat  [author] 28 Mar, 2021 @ 10:03am
It's possible, but not something I'll be adding.
56Múmia 28 Mar, 2021 @ 9:14am
Hi, great idea, makes meteor showers not so "boring".

Is it possible to add a percentage chance to happen? instead of always spawning the metals?
Thanks.
Sailor Cat  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 9:22am
This mod only removes floodplains because workers can't normally remove them.
circeus 7 Mar, 2021 @ 5:45am
I saw the newest update removed floodplains. Would you consider also removing forests and jungles? Or alternatively make it possible to build iron mines on them? While later strategic resources can spawn and be mined in forests and jungles, Iron cannot
Sailor Cat  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 9:39am
This has been updated to remove floodplains on a meteor strike.
Royal Raven 5 Mar, 2021 @ 7:31pm
Thanks Sailor Cat for all you answers.
Sailor Cat  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 7:09pm
Yeah, that's just normal GS mechanics.
Royal Raven 5 Mar, 2021 @ 6:59pm
So I assume, if I get an early meteor before Bronze working is unlocked, I can still get a unit? I asked, because this just happened to me in my game I am in.
Royal Raven 5 Mar, 2021 @ 6:06pm
Yeah that is what I meant, iron or aluminum. Thanks.
Sailor Cat  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 6:01pm
There's no meteor to improve on, but if you mean improve the iron or aluminum, yeah.
Royal Raven 5 Mar, 2021 @ 4:56pm
Do you notice with your mod, that AI will improve on the meteors?

I might give this mod a try after you do your floodplains update.
Royal Raven 5 Mar, 2021 @ 4:14pm
Ok, thanks. I thought that is how I remember vanilla doing.

Real Meteors, a builder has to get on the tile and remove meteor feature, then the Builder can improve the metal tile. Seems fine, but the more I used that mod, the more I noticed the AI would not do anything to the meteor tile, like they are not aware they have to remove meteor feature and then improve the tile.
Sailor Cat  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 4:04pm
Normally, moving a unit onto the meteor tile will remove the meteor from the tile. That's how it works with this mod active, too.
Royal Raven 5 Mar, 2021 @ 3:21pm
Is this like Real Meteors mod, where it says, "To improve spawned resource you'll have to remove Meteor Site with Builder"?

Is this the same with this mod? Is this how vanilla works? Honestly I am asking because I do not remember how vanilla worked.

Thanks.
Sailor Cat  [author] 5 Mar, 2021 @ 10:49am
I'll update in a few days to remove the floodplains.:momozzz:
dudeworthington 5 Mar, 2021 @ 10:13am
If a meteor hits a floodplain tile, it becomes an un-improvable tile. Neither a mine, nor a farm, nor any other improvement can be constructed flood plain tile with a metal.
LaFway 22 Feb, 2021 @ 5:57pm
Awesome I like this better than magically gaining a heavy cav unit.
Étendard 22 Feb, 2021 @ 8:20am
Roger, thanks man! :VBCOOL:
Sailor Cat  [author] 22 Feb, 2021 @ 8:09am
Hoax. And it works fine. :momocat:
Étendard 22 Feb, 2021 @ 8:03am
Hello, is the mod still working? I heard somewhere meteors were removed to all game modes except Apocalypse. Fact or hoax?
Iron knight Fe 10 Feb, 2021 @ 9:46pm
I think it may be a interesting idea to give it a percentile (%) chance to spawn stone, copper , Iron , diamond. or Aluminum . That way it's less predictable and more FUN.
Cosmic Fox 31 Jul, 2020 @ 6:28am
I had to disable this mod and the one Pokeihl made (spelling) due to access violation errors. It works without them, has to do with discovering secret societies. I love these mods hopefully you find the issues
Telruna 3 Jul, 2020 @ 11:45pm
Ok, fair enough, thanks.
Sailor Cat  [author] 3 Jul, 2020 @ 10:40am
For now that's just the luck of the draw, but I'll see about implementing a workaround.
Telruna 3 Jul, 2020 @ 7:11am
Confirming what PANdemoniumJP wrote. You cannot build a mine on a floodplain tile.
바닐라라떼 19 Jun, 2020 @ 6:10pm
Does it cancel a resource that's already present?
PANdemoniumJP 4 Jun, 2020 @ 4:35pm
Thanks for making this mod. It is always nice to see meteors deposit aluminum in the late game. Unfortunately I found that if a meteor lands on a floodplains tile, you can't build a mine over the resource.
Sailor Cat  [author] 2 Jun, 2020 @ 12:44pm
Nope.
Cosmic Fox 2 Jun, 2020 @ 12:19pm
Question? would this mod possibly cause iron deposits to diminish on archipelago maps I play.. Gigantic map sizes.. 4 games in a row no iron and no horses in current game
Menio 31 May, 2020 @ 3:20am
Hello! Thanks for the MOD...

Did you consider random between Iron, Copper, Aluminium and Uranium?
lieutenant74 25 May, 2020 @ 8:30am
Thats the one i was waiting for!!! thank you
cameranutzii 25 May, 2020 @ 6:19am
Logical choice, makes much more sense. TY!
Supernova™ 24 May, 2020 @ 8:47pm
It perplexed me why you'd get a horse or tank out of a meteor. Metal makes much more sense. Good on you for releasing this :)
Oraxis 24 May, 2020 @ 1:28pm
Thank you for this mod. It's actually quite historically accurate as many cultures, before they developed more invasive mining techniques, would use the iron from meteorites to make blades. It also solves some game problems when you get completely fucked by iron spawns and they're all clustered in areas you can't reach without a protracted war.
o_siyeza 24 May, 2020 @ 12:41pm
Sailor Cat, you are right. Uranium is actually very rare in meteorites.

Main sources of Uranium:
U abundance (ppm)
Meteorites 0.008
Primitive mantle 0.021
Continental crust 1.4

As you see you also will not find uranium on Earth but in the realm of parts per million. Of course, this is an average as you can find much richer Uranium deposits on Earth. Up to 100 ppm. But, this is true for meteorites as well.

So gamewise, you are actually not making any science mistake if you do decide to add it. But I understand if you decide to not do it. As it would actually be very uncommon.
desitjant 24 May, 2020 @ 12:00pm
Love this!
Sailor Cat  [author] 24 May, 2020 @ 10:29am
I did consider uranium. However, research seems to indicate that meteors only have uranium in the realm of parts per million.
conorbebe 24 May, 2020 @ 8:00am
Amazing work! This is how it meteor strikes should have been implemented! Don't suppose you could make a version of this mod which does remove the cavalry bonus?
Cosmic Fox 24 May, 2020 @ 7:30am
I love how people pound modders with requests constantly and not showing appreciation for what they just created or updated. Give the guy a break >:^D

Thanks for this work!
o_siyeza 24 May, 2020 @ 6:53am
You could make it so they spawn also uranium in the atomic age?
Blue Nerd 24 May, 2020 @ 12:39am
Will they also be able to spawn bonus resources in the future? Like copper or stone?
Sailor Cat  [author] 23 May, 2020 @ 9:17pm
:arara:
Te 23 May, 2020 @ 8:45pm
*Very* cool, thank you so much!
totalslacker 23 May, 2020 @ 4:33pm
Ah, meteoric iron! Very cool
weraptor 23 May, 2020 @ 4:22pm
I love this, thank you so much for this!
