the base black mesa looks terrible
I do agree that a different design would be the ideal solution.

I haven't had anything like that happen to me yet, but if I somehow figure out why that's happening I'll fix it if I can.
They DO appear in "Black Mesa: Military" as enemies. They throw snorks at you and your Marine buddies, are stronger and taller than normal alien grunts ^^;
No, they aren't in the game. You used to be able to spawn them but I think the command was deleted? I don't remember exactly but you could go ahead and try to spawn them in
