@Caesar if you disapprove the updated version I will remove it from the workshop. I just wanted to contribute to the people who still play WH2.

I've checked the mod and found a few outdated tables and fixed them and re-uploaded the mod here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3366747703
I've also added the upgrades to the 2 ranged units available from the bloodline mechanic.

Great concept! I think the horde and raiding factions need more of this. Factions like beastmen, chaos, etc. Good work.

yeah we already have a skaven version and I totally agree with you about working on something that has already done you have a limited time and should work on things that we don't have but we still need a dawi version mate! Maybe you will do one?? Or maybe tomb kings, norsca? Loved your mod hope we will see AT LEAST one more cool mod like this! I want to add this mechanic to every faction group in-game and I guess I couldn't find a mod for norsca, beastmen, dawi and tomb kings yet please think about it if you are intereted in any one of these.

@LockTheReliquary You have some good ideas there! I am always cautious about making a mod that essentially does the same thing as another mod already on the workshop. Plus, I don't have as much interest in Skaven as in Vampire Counts. So I think it is pretty unlikely I will do a skaven version.

Any chance you're going to make a skaven version of this mod? I really like how balanced you made this mod and I think a skaven mod giving them the scrap mechanic would be nice to have (There is already another mod like this for skaven, but it only uses the food resource and the upgrades don't seem very balanced). I'm thinking that for a Skaven scrap mod gold can be used to buy upgrades like armor and stronger weapons as well as food for making the units stronger (like giving a rat ogre food to make it have more hitpoints). In addition, for weapons teams upgrades most factions can have standard gold upgrades while Clan Skryre would have very powerful Warp-fuel upgrades (As warp-fuel is very hard to get and typically is better spent on permanent buffs for specific units). As an example most skaven factions could buy an upgrade that makes a ratling gun do 1 more ap damage with each shot (which is actually quite a bit), while Clan Skryre could spend 1 Warp-Fuel to do double damage

@Khaibit Not sure, it isn't too hard tho. You need to create an effect_bundle and then tied it to the effects in the bundle. Then you create a purchasable effect in unit_purchasable_effects_tables. This links with the effect bundle. Then you assign a purchasable effect to a unit in the unit_purchasable_effects_sets_tables. Lastly you make the purchasable effect cost something through the resource_costs_tables & resource_cost_pooled_resource_junctions_tables.

Then you need to add a loc text entry for the effect bundle with both a description and title.

All those tables are already in the mod, so you should be able to navigate it by using my mod and the data pack file. If you need a hand let me know!

@Caesar Mhm, suppose it does make sense. Since there aren't any ranged-related upgrades, I may have to look into how to make my own. Is there any sort of a guide you know of on how to do this? ^^

@fireball900 Thanks! Yeah upgrading zombies can be a bit... less effective. But Kemmler gets the hunger ability on all zombies with a follower and as they are free, they can be a really effective wall with some upgrades. Just don't expect them to actually do anything :P

@Khaibit Yeah sure, do as you please. It was honestly an oversight, but I don't think I would have done anything with them anyway. Doesn't really make sense to upgrade them with dark magic or blood kisses.

After hearing that it doesn't work with other mods, I've decided to make a patch of my own for a few mods I like, assuming that's all okay.

I'm curious why it is you decided not to add any upgrades for the crossbows and handgunners, or if it was simply an oversight.

@ Khaibit No it doesn't work with other mods that add VC units, although it won't make anything crash they just won't have upgrades. I was considering making a patch for my vampire regiment of renown mod and any other modders are welcome to make their own patches too.

@Caesar I noticed the ROR "Varek's Reavers" (Black knights Lances and Barding) don't have the upgrade option. So far everything else has worked including other Regiment of Renouned units.

@Endless - fair call. Maybe I will decrease the charge bonus. The leadership bonus is the cheapest upgrade and considering how low most undead leadership is, it is pretty nice.

Just looking at the Cav bonuses, +6 bonus vs infantry compared to +20 charge and +15% speed seems really weak, same with +10 leadership, just my opinion.
