It might be. The model does come from LW2, but the unit itself is just a copy of one from DerBK's ABA for vanilla game, meaning it's just a big tough 'lid. No idea what sort of Chryssalid used this model in LW2.

This is the Queen from LW2 right?
Malek Deneith  [author] 20 Aug, 2020 @ 7:33am
Nope, this is purely an enemy mod not a mod that would add new items.
nafizerman 19 Aug, 2020 @ 9:56am
Does it drop anything useful?

@Malek Deneth It is the only mod I have that changes statistics. I have disabled the appropriate chrysallid in the mod to see what happens when the next chryssalid mission occurs. I cleared out the config folder and checked my XCOM 2 files and had the same thing happen on a different mission. The toughest error to find is one where a program works but gives an unexpected result. I saw that it should only be a 33 percent increase but for some reason that is not the case.
Malek Deneith  [author] 26 Jun, 2020 @ 7:20am
Hmmm, but that should only change stats when the Dark Event is up, and even then the modifier I see in config is +33% health. Strange.

@Malek Deneth I think I may have found the culprit, More Dark Events: Enemy Stat Boosts. I am going to test by disabling the stat boost for the chryssalids.

@Malek Deneth I really like the Proficiency Class Reaper. My style of play favors reapers a lot. Soldier Development is also very good. I like it when soldiers traits only increase via combat experience and can only get promoted via combat. I also use K's Officer class because I use other mods that change the basic ranks to army enlisted ones which makes more sense. The officer class also has its own rank icons. The Lone Wanderer and Walker classes fit into XCOM well. Since I have twice as many missions and a long campaign I also use the Solo Operative class and Rising Tides: The Program and Raider Factions by Puma the Great.

Hard to pinpoint favourite mods when list is over 300 long ;) Certainly I can't see myself without some sort of class pack - currently it's Proficiency Classes, though I like Chimera Classes too. And to go with that is ABA kit bashed to work with Advent Avenger's AI, some other additional enemy mods (no CX stuff except General and Berserker Revamps though, rest is a bit much for my taste), coupled with Diverse Alien Pods By Force Level to keep the pods varied and big.

If there's a mod I'd say changes gameplay the most for me I'd say it's AA's New Weapon Range Tables. Coupled with reccomended increase to cover values it feels like a new game - when I recently had to switch it off to try LWotC for a second I found myself shocked at ranges Advent could snipe me from.

...oh and Weapon Skin Replacer + TLP weapon skins are a must, because normal plasma is *awful*, and TLP magnetics are still a notch above vanilla mangetic, even if the latter is nice enough.

@Malek Deneth I do have a mod with a dark event that increases stats of chryssalids but the multiplier in the config is only 1.33 so that is not an issue. I don't have any other mods that deal with that enemy except missions. I had never seen a Hive mission before where all the Chryssalids were such high level ones, at least not in that point in the game. Which mods are your favorites? My must haves include Proficiency Classes, The Hive, Bio Division and some of the raider factions. They make for a tense game. I also use a mod for a marathon campaign and one that doubles the missions. The people that create mods, like you, have taken a very good game and made it into a great one.

@Malek Deneth Thanks.

No problem, I wasn't doing much at the moment anyway. For sake of experiment I went on and checked with Hive installed and Hunterkillers still get only the health they should, so I think we can absolve this particular combination from fault. Something else is causing this, my money is on polluted configs since I can't think of a mod that could do that.

If you want to test this quickly by the way, Hunterkillers can be spawned by using "DropUnit ABAChryssalidM4 1" console command - just load up gatecrasher, use that, and you'll have one to check if any changes you made worked :)

@Malek Deneth I will give that a shot in my next campaign. I usually do that before every campaign by default. I was quite astonished by the 38 hit points myself. I have played with ABA before and did not remember hunter killers being that strong. If it recurs I can always try Pick Your Aliens and leave out the Chrysallids that might cause a problem. Thanks for your quick responses.
Malek Deneith  [author] 25 Jun, 2020 @ 10:17am
Hunter Killers have, by difficulty 10/11/12/13 health. They can't have 38 health even if you play with Beta Strike. This is some other mod mucking things up. Have you tried the old config clean and regeneration trick yet?
silverleaf1 25 Jun, 2020 @ 9:12am
@Malek Deneth I checked the Hive enemies list and no enemy has that name.
silverleaf1 25 Jun, 2020 @ 9:10am
@Malek Deneth The game said they were Chrysallid Hunter Killers which is in the ABA enemies list. When I started a new campaign the mission reverted to what it was like before without ABA. I have played several campaigns with the Hive and except for the Hive Queen and her guards the hit points don't go so high.
Malek Deneith  [author] 25 Jun, 2020 @ 9:00am
Fairly sure those 38 HP lids were from Hive - ABA ones don't go that high except King and Queen (on certain difficulties) and those tend to come later and usually not more than 1/mission. Alien mods from Creative Xenos team are not for the faint of heart usually.
silverleaf1 25 Jun, 2020 @ 8:25am
@Malek Dereth I was just curious because I had a campaign with the Hive and A Better Advent and in the fishing village mission in the Hive addon package which appeared when I only had just gotten magnetic weapons I had a village with 38 hit point chryssalids that when killing civilians spawned ones with 18 hit points. I used the mod Choose Your Aliens with ABA but the final mission second part would not function properly when I used that combination which happened twice out of two times.
Malek Deneith  [author] 25 Jun, 2020 @ 7:06am
Not really. I don't feel like cutting off pieces out of ABA WOTC would serve much purpose: those work best as a pack, and even if someone wants only *some* of the enemies presented there a better way to go about it would be to just install ABA then tinker with Encounter Lists to prevent unwanted ones from spawning.

As for leftover enemies from pre-WOTC ABA2 I did take a look at them, and I can see why DerBK cut them - they just don't seem to fulfill much purpose compared to what already is in ABA and other enemy mods. To be perfectly honest even Abomination is kind of a weak choice gameplay wise, as it fits nearly the same role as Chryssalid King does. I just found idea of a building-sized bug too amusing to pass up.
silverleaf1 25 Jun, 2020 @ 5:27am
@Malek Denelith Any plans to port any of the other ABA enemies individually? There are definitely some interesting ones.
Nero 19 Jun, 2020 @ 12:39pm
alright
i have enough nightmare roach hunting my units after i downloaded the hive mod and its extension but i guess one more wouldn't hurt
Malek Deneith  [author] 19 Jun, 2020 @ 7:24am
Nope, this is just an enemy
Nero 19 Jun, 2020 @ 4:26am
does it unlock any research/autopsies?
Malek Deneith  [author] 17 Jun, 2020 @ 8:42pm
It starts appearing at Force Level 17, though it can appear one FL earlier on Bughunts if you have A Better Missions. It is a leader enemy and has followers set so it shoud spawn with some. Didn't touch anything corpse related when porting so I assume it drops vanilla lid corpses like other ABA enemies, yes.
VoidLight 17 Jun, 2020 @ 8:22pm
What force level does it generally show up and and is it in a pod by itself or does it come with followers (or is it a follower)?

And I assume this drops a Chryssalid corpse?
Malek Deneith  [author] 17 Jun, 2020 @ 8:11pm
It should work with ABA, and I do believer it should also work with Hive. I don't use the latter though so I could have missed something, and I'm not going to make any statements on ABA<>Hive compatibility
The Magic Conch 17 Jun, 2020 @ 5:13pm
Giant NOPEbugs are always welcome.
VoidLight 17 Jun, 2020 @ 4:18pm
I guess if i drop ABA and use this and hive everything should be fine.
kenanthebarbarian 17 Jun, 2020 @ 3:52pm
@VoidLight Not sure about this mod, but I have read that The Hive and ABA are compatible IF you remove the chryssalid AI from ABA. How exactly that is done, I don't know.
VoidLight 17 Jun, 2020 @ 2:46pm
This still works with the Hive mod correct?
And does the Hive mod work with ABA?
