Good morning Engineers, just a small question for the creator. I installed SSG to generate my own custom galaxy. However, some planets that I loaded into this galaxy do not contain any mineral veins, only ice. Would it be a mistake on my part when installing this, or do I need some other specific mod for this to work?

it's true, SE wasn't built for too many custom textures. try putting the mod early in the load order, that should give them priority over other custom voxel sets that come with other planet mods.

No. He has too many high quality planets in his game. Once you get to about 5 of these the game can't handle all the awesomeness and won't render them or something. I'm not joking. It's a well known issue and has been for years. Load only this planet in a game and it will look fine.

the rings may need to be updated as the planet appears outside them it seems rather then "in" them.

I have no idea what that error is, likely an incompatibility with current versions of SE, maybe from the script. If it causes no problems it shouldn't be an issue.

This is meant to be used with other planets, giving it Mg would unbalance it too much.

I apologize good sir, I found the issue to be on my end. Some texture mumbo jumbo messing with the Caldera planet as well but not caused by the mod. You can safely ignore my complaint. Thanks for your quick reply and awesome mod though.

I'm consistently getting CTDs with this planet placed. It usually happens when reloading a save with the planet in it while it seems to work fine initially. Crashlog suggests the planet "accessing physics from parallel threads" to be the issue. Quite unfortunate as I consider this mod to be the best lava planet on the workshop :/

I use SSG for placement but I don't think it makes a difference considering everything else works fine.

Planet spawns, but there's zero lava anywhere on the surface.

Could be what Mjrlun said, but seeing as I'm only subscribed to a couple (>10) planets, I doubt it's that.

If when placing a planet a texture appears to be replaced by asteroid texture, this means you have overloaded the voxel texture slots. As of now, the best way to fix this is to only resource planets from a few authors. Some will have cross compatibility, or use Vanilla only. I'm pretty sure this planet uses DoctorOctoganapus's textures as well as vanilla ones, so you can use this planet for example with the Ares System by Captain Arthur who also uses them.

To my knowledge it has never reliably worked in MP, and I don't know anything about its workings. You'll have to ask the people who made or maintain the script.

Adding this to the mod list of planets while making my own system, causes my entire game to crash. I have checked every other planet (I only have planets in the mod list) and this is the only that causes the game to completely crash. I can load it up on a new game, and paste it no problem, but If i load it into the save with the other planets it crashes even before the game loads.

The planets I have in the list so far are

aineri, alien, balcor, benac, darinus, demus, dover, dusty, earth, ein, erin, erunt, euri, europa, gea, haqui, helghan, imok, juri, jei, karicus, kharak, kueli, lavuc, lothita, lv426, mars, mein, mex, moon, neirri, neiru, novis, olyne, orai, pertam, pique, planet 26, ravcor, raxum, reshia, safina, salos, satreus, segovia, shattered, sune, thanion, titan, triton, uintonn, unji, uvanck, vyi, yahvic, yumarin

No my game does not lag when I had these all loaded in at once and it was very stable. This is the only one added to the mod list that has caused it to crash.

@KiberVolk, Caldera does have active lava damage but your world needs to be setup for it via the settings. The most important ones (I think) that cause it to activate is enabling the following settings: Grid Damage ON, Scripts ON, Thruster Burn OFF, Tool Shake OFF, Unsupported Stations OFF.

If these don't work I can boot up my world and do some testing.

Lava damage script was hanging on by a thread when I made this mod, so every update there's a chance that it breaks entirely and it only worked in SP anyways. As Incanatus said, your shader settings have to be on high for the lava emissives to work.
