This map works in theory, and it's gorgeous, but my traffic was completely jammed right from the start. Maybe I was just not skilled enough to fix it, but a lot of dummy traffic was getting stuck using the national roads to the point stuff and people from my (at this point tine, 1,3k population) town weren't getting around :(

All you need is the 6 required items. Do note that some fo the mods might be outdated and you might have to look up the updated versions of the mods, as the map is 3 years old and a lot has changed since then. Network Extensions 2 and Unlimited Trees: Revisited are both potentially incompatible with a lot of mods these days so you should look into how any mods you might have interact with specifically NExt2. UT:R should be ok to just replace with the most recent version of the mod that allows for unlimited trees.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions I'm always happy to help.

Is there anything else we have to download for it to work? whenever im trying to load in its just an un-detailed mess.(Not to be rude)

Okay, thank you

Not sure why the trains wouldn't come into the city, but things you can do to try to get the trains into your city (faster or just in the first place);
- try increasing the budget for trains / public transport
- try increasing the size of your city / industry (if you want cargo trains)
- try increasing the tourism value of your city

In general, trains can sometimes take a while to start coming into your city and doing the above things can encourage train traffic. On this topic, do you see trains crossing from one edge of the map to the other, or are trains completely absent?

Also, some people have reported to have fixed train issues by remaking some rail junctions, so that might be worth looking into, i.e. to make sure the railways you have are intact :)
crack monkey 16 Apr, 2023 @ 4:08pm
Love this map, but i cant get any trains in my city! how would i fix this?
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 31 Mar, 2023 @ 10:21am
That's very interesting, sorry to hear that. Did you try using only the required items, nothing extra?
Starkye 31 Mar, 2023 @ 7:33am
Yup I used the updated versions, sadly it was still broken. A pity since it looked like a nice map
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 29 Mar, 2023 @ 12:19pm
@Starkye,
A lot of mods have broken recently, and old maps tend to have old requirements due to the frequent deprecation of old mods due to discontinued maintenance of the mods. I encourage to always make sure the mods you're running are up to date.

The Unlimited Trees: Revisited mod is broken these days and you should use the Temporary Tree Anarchy Fix instead.
If you've double checked all of your mods and made sure they're all up to date, then unfortunately I don't have any other clues as to why the map would be broken.
Starkye 29 Mar, 2023 @ 11:36am
Map seems broken, literally no trees spawn despite having all the requirements and no mod conflicts

I'm having the same issue as syaman where the map loads like his images. I have the tree anarchy mod on and i've tried with unlimited trees neither seems to load correctly.
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 5 Jan, 2022 @ 3:49am
@SYAMAN, Just like Jimmeh mentioned, the root issue could be something colliding with the Unlimited Trees mod. You could try switching to the Tree Anarchy mod to avoid potential collisions with other mods. It would appear that you're using a fair amount of mods and assets, and thus the likelihood of some mods being incompatible with each other is reasonably high. Although if other maps work just fine, then it gets a little tricky.

In the first image it's apparent that at least the elevated station and the metro station assets are failing to load. This could be due to some incompatibility between those assets and the train tracks used in this map.

Apologies for a delayed response, I've been absent over the holidays. I hope you've resolved the issue already, but if not, I hope my two cents help :)
Jimmeh 1 Jan, 2022 @ 4:31am
@SYAMAN, likely cause is your Unlimited Trees (or equivalent) mod needs checking. Lot's of trees on this map.
SYAMAN 22 Dec, 2021 @ 9:22am
Hi, I've got a problem with this map. I don't really know where to look for the cause, but your other maps work just fine for me. Thank you in advance!

[Part 2]

Have you tried waiting it out for an extended period of time? Furthermore, I think the reason why it takes a while is that the tree count on this map is relatively high (545K is quite a bit) - have you tried running other maps with similarly high tree counts with the Tree Anarchy mod?

In any case, I got the map working on my end (I subscribed to the items just like any other subscriber would do, as I no longer have the original files on my PC from which I could otherwise load up the map) with the Tree Anarchy mod. I suggest you try to wait it out when loading the map to see if the Tree Manager phase just takes a long ass time. Please report back in any case, as I'm curious to hear if this is in fact the case. I hope this sheds some light into the situation :steamhappy:

[Part 1]

Ok, I finally got myself some time to work on this. First up I checked back to see if the map works as intended with the Unlimited Trees mod (I changed the mod requirement to the newer version of the Unlimited Trees mod), and it works fine and dandy.

The interesting part is when switching over to the Tree Anarchy mod we discussed about, I too first thought the loading got stuck on the Simulation: Tree Manager phase. Then I left the game running on the background while I came back to desktop to figure stuff out. To my surprise, when I re-opened the game, the map had loaded and was fully playable. Apparently with the Tree Anarchy mod the Simulation: Tree Manager takes quite a while to load up (like 2 minutes or so for me?).
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 23 Oct, 2021 @ 2:08am
Thanks for the information! I'll take a closer look into this later today when I have time to get to it.

Random Tree Rotation was definitely used when this map was made. I'm unsure how the previous use of that mod could cause an incompatibility with the Tree Anarchy mod however, as the map functions without the Random Tree Rotation mod in itself. Anything's possible though.
sodastereolab 23 Oct, 2021 @ 12:48am
Yes, that one indeed. I keep getting stuck on "Simulation: Tree Manager (LSM)." I have been consulting with other people, and i cant find a conflict anywhere except in this map. I understand that u have been inactive recently, so i was wondering if this issue would happen with the author too.

Tree Anarchy is a complete overhaul, which includes Random Tree Rotation, Tree Movement Control, Lock Forestry and more. It could be that one of those mods was used in the map creation, and its making a issue when using Tree Anarchy, which is incomptabile with all of them, including the original Unlimited Trees Mod.
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 22 Oct, 2021 @ 11:35pm
Hi there! Are you referring to this Tree Anarchy mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2527486462&searchtext=tree+anarchy ? If so, the map should work with this mod as well. As long as there is some mod that allows for more than the vanilla limit of trees, the map should work as intended.

Have you tested the map with that mod? I've been off the game for a while now and I'm not up to date with the latest mods, hence the requirements can be outdated. If the map works with the new Tree Anarchy mod, I'll gladly either add it to the description as an optional replacement mod for the Unlimited Trees mod or just update the requirements list itself. Thanks for the heads up! Looking forward to your reply :)
sodastereolab 22 Oct, 2021 @ 9:27pm
Hello, loving this map and all, but it would be possible for u to change the Unlimited Trees Mod requirement to Tree Anarchy instead? Unlimited Trees is broken and its creating various issues when using new mods including Tree Anarchy, which everyone should use nowadays. It would be very useful to new subscribers :steamhappy:

@Rododendron, Yes there is! All four types of transport connections are implemented in the map.
Rododendron 26 Sep, 2021 @ 4:22pm
Is there any air connection on this map?
Silent Hastati 19 Aug, 2021 @ 3:55pm
Love this map, the extensive networks make it perfect for an 81 tile unlocked county style build instead of a expanding central city.

This has to be my favorite map in the workshop so to that I say good work my man. The only problem is I have a bug where I cant use the Extra landscaping tools for this map. I cant paint any Farming area no matter what I try. It might be an issue with penguins mod, but it doe work on other maps.
androidak0r 1 Jul, 2021 @ 10:40am
Not sure what I am missing. All required items are subscribed, all DLCs available but still getting NULL reference erros. Too many
Chodey Muncher Qualcomm 1 Jul, 2021 @ 1:02am
For sure one of the best maps on the workshop.
FlameWar 1 Jun, 2021 @ 12:54pm
@IhmeHiHuli
I checked again, yes the problem persists with every dependencies Enabled.
And yes, I do own mass transit (in fact every DLC except Sunset harbor and Disasters)
Captain Crispy Bacon 1 Jun, 2021 @ 9:33am
@IhmeHihhuli ™ Thanks for quick response. Yeah, I seen that some other more mountainaous tiles have more wind, so assumed it's probably how game works. But I also noticed that other maps I tried so far (not many) also have wind near river, so was thinking maybe that's some bug.
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 1 Jun, 2021 @ 8:39am
@Munchkin,
If by starting map you mean the starting tile, then yes it's probably a feature of the map as the starting tile is down in the valley which isn't really windy (just how the game's mechanics work). See if the ridges will give you a better power output! (If not, then something is broken). You'll have to buy at least one tile to reach them though. I hope this helps :steamhappy:
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 1 Jun, 2021 @ 8:39am
@FlameWar,
Sounds rather peculiar. As always, I still recommend double (or triple, if that's the case) that all the required mods are actually set active in the mod manager (not just downloaded). Sounds like you've done this already though. There's a chance one of the dependencies has gone out of date and is broken, but I'd say it's unlikely.

This map initially used the Mass Transit version of the national roads, which were later changed to the NExt2 variant to avoid a DLC requirement. Hence I'll ask whether or not you own Mass Transit? The issues you're having suggests something critical is missing when loading the map (not just an asset missing, as it would simply be missing and not breaking the game like you described) and it could be a DLC. The Null Ref error basically means a dependency is missing which is typically an asset that is missing, but it shouldn't break the game though. Hopefully we'll find what's causing the issue here. I'm looking forward to your response :)
Captain Crispy Bacon 1 Jun, 2021 @ 5:03am
Starting map don't have any winds (0-1kw), is it supposed to be like that?
FlameWar 31 May, 2021 @ 2:12pm
When I try and start this Map I get a bunch of Null Reference Errors. After clicking through them the Map has no trees or roads, and some very strange vertical hight differences along the tile borders,
I double checked (and redownlaoded) all the required dependencies, and tried turnign off all other mods except the ones needed, still the same result.

Always a pleasure to hear people enjoying my work! Thank you for sharing your thoughts :steamhappy: Regarding the question, if you mean the smaller rivers then yes, mostly the beginning parts are intentionally dried out. The large rivers are obviously not meant to be dried out (I doubt that's what you mean anyway :lunar2019grinningpig:) You can see the way the map is supposed to look (from above) in the 4th last screenshot in the images list.

TLDR: Yeah, some of the "rivers" (i.e. dry riverbeds) are intentionally just dry patches to create a natural look. I hope I answered your question :steamhappy: Happy building :)
ValskraaCapo 15 Apr, 2021 @ 10:19am
I have played on this map for some hours now and I'm loving it. Perfect for a rural Norwegian town. One question. Are some of the rivers meant to be dried out? The national road is so beautiful. I usually delete all roads when starting a map, but for this one I might keep it :)
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 26 Mar, 2021 @ 5:39pm
Double check you've set them active in the content manager as well. If so, everything should work fine - if not, then it sounds like a 3rd party mod colliding with something. You could also try the new unlimited tree mod, just in case the old one has broken for some reason. You can find the link to that mod a few comments below (Legion, Duke of Rockford's comment). Hope this helps!
Tree Boi 26 Mar, 2021 @ 10:26am
When i loaded up the map, no trees spawned except far outside the start square? I've subscribed to all the required mods etc
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 1:08am
Glad to hear that :steamhappy: Also thank you for coming back to share this information! Have fun building on the map :steamhappy:
Legion, Duke of Rockford 6 Mar, 2021 @ 12:13pm
It probably should work. That mod is based on source code for BP's Unlimited Trees mod available at GitHub. So far, I have not see any issues with it on your map so I think it is OK to use with them in place of BP's version.
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 1:46am
@Legion, Duke of Rockford,
That's a great question. I'd suppose as it serves the same purpose as the original mod, it should work with the new unlimited tree mod as well. Can't say for sure though. If you try it out, please share here whether it works with the new mod or not. :steamhappy:
Legion, Duke of Rockford 5 Mar, 2021 @ 2:48pm
Great looking map! So I have a question: apparently BloodyPenguin had "retired" from the modding, so someone made a new unlimited tree mod as a result here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2378914031 Will this work just as well for this map?
sankalp2736 4 Mar, 2021 @ 10:31pm
Thanks for the clarification 😁
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 4 Mar, 2021 @ 3:22pm
Only the rural two-way roads are NExt2 roads, everything else is vanilla. There is an option to replace the NExt2 roads with the Mass Transit roads of course, but this would make the map unreachable to those who do not own MT.

I do not, unfortunately, have any time - nor intention, even if I had the time - to make another duplicate version of this map.

If you need to get rid of the NExt2 requirement, for example due to the collision with Harmony, I'd encourage you to load the map up in the map editor with NExt2 turned on, then
• find the NExt2 roads (which are, as you said, only used in the intersection)
• replace them (with the road upgrade tool) with MT versions of the same road
• save the map to your own custom filename
This is a fairly quick and easy process which you can do by yourself and when doing it for your own use, you (unlike if I were to do it) avoid all the hassle with uploading it.

Glad to hear you like the map! :steamhappy:
sankalp2736 4 Mar, 2021 @ 8:05am
Oh and i really like the map lol
sankalp2736 4 Mar, 2021 @ 8:05am
Are a lot of the prebuilt roads from next2? Since it kinda broke. If yes, could you maybe make an updated version? Thanks
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 27 Jan, 2021 @ 11:50pm
Make sure you've subscribed to all the items in the required items list. Then make sure you've set all of them active in the content manager as well. The map theme is the first item on the list, "Regular Temperate". I hope this helps :)
benhthomas07 27 Jan, 2021 @ 4:34pm
i have an issue. it keeps saying i need the map theme for the map. do you have one? thanks
