It doesn't work and make a CTD. The version made by Novaspook works even if it's 4tpy.

ak by niekto chcel CZ_lokalizaciu na tento mod, viem poslat... nakopiroval som original nazvy do prekladu... to znamena ze Řím sa bude volat Roma a podobne... nie su tie nazvy prelozene, ale lepsie ako nic...

Thank you! For confirming it's a working method. Last thing I want is my campaign to crash.

You can do that, it works, tested it myself. If you want to make the campaign show up as the Grand Campaign though you'd need to move the startpos.esf file from the main_emperor folder to the main_rome folder in the .pack file, and then change a few lines in the startpos.esf file itself from main_emperor to main_rome to get rid of the intro video.

My plan was to use the imperator augustus campaign, replace (changing name, flag etc in db) for factions that already exist in the locations I want.
And then remove some factions like Octavian's Rome and add in new factions "maually".

Then at the end change using a pfm to manually change buildings. Cause they seem to be bugged when changing in the assembly kit.

Interesting. I can't be modding right now but I have saved your messages. I'll try it out sometime and come back to you if I get stuck.

This was very helpful. Gave me more insight in how it works.

There's a Youtube video that shows how to manually forward the tables using start_pos_past_events as an example, since that one is broken as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjuBOL5qzpA

I actually set it so that the main_rome campaign used the main_emperor map in the campaigns table. I switched over all the main_rome regions and settlements to use their main_emperor versions without editing those used by the actual main_emperor campaign or main_3c and then manually added in the new regions and settlements present on the main_emperor map. You also need to edit start_pos_region_slot_templates to account for main_rome now using the main_emperor regions - otherwise your settlements will have no building slots. Unfortunately, the Assembly kit won't actually forward that table into what it uses to build the startpos on its own, so you need to do it manually.

Hello Polbork! Nice work on this. I am fairly experienced in startpos editing but I have some questions.

I assume you went into the assembly kit, went into the Imperator Augustus map, and changed/added the factions.
But (I assume, I havent tried this perticular mod) you start this campaign by clicking "Grand Campaign" while in game, not "Imperator Augustus".
How do you do that? Also, why? Is there any downsides to having the campaign start using the Imperator Augustus?

I hope this made sense. I would love to hear from you. Would be useful as I am working on a mod set in 750BC using the Imperator Augustus campaign map.
Thanks

I have an extra google account I can use to upload it, so I'll just make it public. Enjoy. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Cq3smqvJF24-vwfpEKlMWceFNO3IRe_r?usp=sharing

That's great, a google drive link would be fine. I can relate being distracted and all, I've been busy myself with work these last couple days. I hope you're doing fine. I'm sure to refer to your work whenever I upload the mod. After all you managed like 98% work of the mod I'm willing to make. And thanks for the offer to help if needed. I guess I'll manage but as you said the assembly kit can often respond weirdly. Would you being needing any contact information from me for sharing the files?

@Praetor Sorry, I meant to respond a bit earlier but I got distracted. I'm perfectly fine with uploading the assembly kit files. Do you prefer a Google Drive link or a Dropbox? Just remember to give me some credit when uploading your mod, and if you run into trouble in the assembly kit feel free to ask me for help - the assembly kit is really weird when it comes to startpos modding.

Lol aluminium :P I ment ariminium.

See I would like to make a version of vanilla campaign to be more in line with the distribution of regions as it is in DEI. Carthage receiving the regions of corsica nova carthago and libya, Egypt receiving lands from cyprus and cyrenaica and the city tyros, seleucids gaining the lands of media and epirus receiving brundisium, as rome receives aluminium. in this adding more to the survivability for the major factions.

Dear sir, I am wondering if you are willing to share your assemblykit folder. I think your work is the best up until now compared to other translation of the rome 2 maps made by other modders and I very much apreciate your work, I think it's great and complete. I would like to use your folder for personal future endavors concerning modding total war Rome 2. If you incline to do so than let me know. Thanks! :)

The number of turns per year are baked into the startpos. Lots of people like to play with more turns per year for time to pass slower and for a proper rotation of the seasons. If you want an experience resembling vanilla, go with this one.

why are there different ones? which do i use?
