Great Mod! However, here seems to be a glitch in the Bakery: in a scenario, the Bakery does not appear in the list of buildings to construct even if the city has wheat - but it will if a new tile is acquired which has wheat. Not sure about the other buildings. Would be awesome if this could be fixed. Thanks!

Sadly, crashes the game every now and again.

With the new patch out i think the smokehouse would also be able to cure meat from Bison. If it is not to much trouble to add this of course. Also calcul8tor has put out an mod that incorperates chocholate better in the game, but it does not work well together with your improved granary and smokehouse mods. Thank you crazyscotsman for all the fantastic work thus far.

ah the way its worded in teh QnA made it seem like it only worked with the expansions and not vanilla.
thecrazyscotsman  [author] 1 Sep, 2014 @ 7:35pm
@seth.macias98 - the reason this one is listed for vanilla is even though I'm not going to go out of my way to make my mods compatible with vanilla, there's nothing in this mod which should prevent it from working with vanilla.
Cephalon Sithalo 1 Sep, 2014 @ 12:10am
why do u have this listed as vanilla if you have no intent of making it work with vanilla?
Shours 15 Jul, 2014 @ 2:17am
Nice one - as the other additional building packs. Are you interested to have them translated into German?

I love the mod but i think the food production boost will be overpowering for my games is there a way i can implement just the weaver into my games? Thanks
Odysseas_84 28 Jun, 2014 @ 11:38pm
What is bad about this whole thing (and it is not the fault of this mod) is that with a smokehouse, stables, granary, weaver, especially together with some related pantheon, you can have dazzling meat resources, way better than modern strategic resources. So if you have a deer camp this yields way more compared to having improved oil or aluminium, which is hilarious and undermines the whole game. The use of resources remains a problematic issue in Civilization V. You can go through the game and win by baking bread and grilling meat. Strategic resources need to be modified so that there are more of them, they yield more and combinations of them are necessary for most units and buildings. If we forget about this problem of the game, some of these building mods are fun, give depth in the strategy and are also within a realistic frame until the industrial era.
Odysseas_84 28 Jun, 2014 @ 11:37pm
That's a nice mod. Shouldn't be used in combination with improved granary, water mill and possibly also windmill though. The net effect will be that wheat will give a thousand food, bananas will be underestimated and if before it was dubious when they should be improved with plantations, now they will never ever improved to give you one food in the cost of the two science of the jungle. From a strategic point of view, it is better to keep the normal granary and water mill, because in that case combinations of various resources can give rise to interesting strategies as to which buildings one should make and in what order.

Great mod - works a charm so far. Looking forward to getting BNW so I can try the classical building mod
fireonfire 21 May, 2014 @ 6:18pm
I did that and it reloaded all of my mods but yours didn't come back. I had added a whole bunch of new (to me) DLC at the same time. There was variation in worked farm lands. It was really pretty. But then I started getting this "bakery error" thing including I think a four-digit number. It kept crashing so I started a new game but only added one item of DLC (my new policy is only one change at a time). Ancient Building Pack just never came back. Its not on my list of mods or anything. But still, according to this page, I'm "subscribed".

Try deleting the Civ5ModsDatabase.db file found in My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache. This will "reset" your mods and redownload any that are not present.
fireonfire 3 May, 2014 @ 2:49pm
I really liked your mod. I just can't access it anymore.
fireonfire 3 May, 2014 @ 2:48pm
I can't remember. It was a while back. It was bad enough I had to end the game. When I next checked my mods folder neither Ancient Buildings I or II were present. According to this page, I am still subscribed...
thecrazyscotsman  [author] 27 Apr, 2014 @ 10:55am
Sorry for the late responses guys... what happened when you got the error? Since it was a while ago, was it resolved somehow?
fireonfire 21 Mar, 2014 @ 10:07pm
This mod was working fine and I enjoy it. I'm suddenly having a problem though and am getting errors. Most of them made no sense but one did say "bakery error" so I thought I'd see if you could help.
kirstie_turner 16 Mar, 2014 @ 10:22am
Darn this mod still doesn't work for me even though deleted cache :(
CleverAdvisor 10 Mar, 2014 @ 4:33pm
I would i edit the mod if i only want the smoke house?
Carmy 3 Mar, 2014 @ 3:46pm
Thank you so much. That worked.

I also can't see this mod in the mods list or access it in game. Can you please advise?

@Michael - No, this mod should be compatible with Vanilla, G&K, and BNW

@Butcher Pete - Yes, each of these buildings has been properly flavored.

@Jamez88350 - I do have plans down the road to release a compilation mod, but I'm working on some other content before I do that :)
ProphetSteve 19 Feb, 2014 @ 4:08pm
New buildings is always good. Sadly though it means the risk of going warlike instead of taking the opportunity to build these new buildings is higher.
Random Guy 19 Feb, 2014 @ 10:07am
Does this require BNW?
EquivoKate 19 Feb, 2014 @ 8:54am
Archery doesn't need buffing, seeing how powerful archers are.
Zubject X 19 Feb, 2014 @ 7:34am
This is a really cool addition to the game. It would be even better if there were more buildings in it - perhaps add something to the archery research to make it less awful.
Skaw 19 Feb, 2014 @ 5:06am
This one should be inclued in the game in the next patch
Butcher Pete 18 Feb, 2014 @ 5:50pm
Have you programmed the AI to use the new structures?
Realpolitik 18 Feb, 2014 @ 2:39pm
This is a cool and Historical edition to the game thank you and keep making these cool mods
Raynor 18 Feb, 2014 @ 9:46am
I really love your mods. But is there anyway you can merge them?

6)And now go to referenced, all your mods that you have download (clicked subscribe on) will appear here. However, they are not named, so if you are like me (I have loads of mods) then you just have to spend time searching through the folders to find the correct mod. Once you have found the mod your are looking for, click on the file that should end with .civ5mod,unless it is purely a map, then it will probably end with .civ5map, and drag it onto the stuffit expander ot right click and click expand via stuffit expander, it will then ask where the file should go, so you put it in documents-Aspyr-Sid Meiers civilization 5- MODS.And then it is done, all you have to do now is go ingame and enable the mods by clicking on the mods button.

Also i assume you have all enabled the Mods button on civ 5- if not, just post a comment here and i will check back every hour or so and i will show you how. Hope this helps all the mac users!
( ͡ ❤ ͜ʖ ͡ ❤) 18 Feb, 2014 @ 1:21am
Mac users can still download right here, im a mac user and here is how you download the mods with mac. Btw this post may carry on to another post because there is a word limit. This method is for those who have more than one library folders, If your steam folder is in the normal library which can be found just by clicking on finder, then find then go to step 4.
First ,if you haven't already done so, downlaod stuffit expander from the internet.
Second, click subscribe.
Third, click on finder and then click on go at the top of the screen, and then click on go to folder. Then in the searchbar type ~/Library.
4) Now go to application support then steam, then userdata, then there should only be one folder there, but if not, it is the one that is a long number (dfferent for all users).
5) Now go to UGC.
Delport Breckland 17 Feb, 2014 @ 4:12pm
Hmm, I already have a smokehouse mod I like. Would you consider making a variation of this mod without that building?
ena berzerk 17 Feb, 2014 @ 9:41am
How to play with the mods in multiplayer with friends?
Seancog 17 Feb, 2014 @ 9:41am

Chil. Just one word is enough :D
thecrazyscotsman  [author] 16 Feb, 2014 @ 3:26pm
Updated to Version 2. The Smokehouse now benefits Fish and Whales as well, and the Weaver now benefits Cotton, Silk, and Dyes in addition to Sheep.

Other changes: Weaver now has 1 maintenance, and Bakery requires Granary.

Download link for mac users???
Majestät 16 Feb, 2014 @ 5:53am
lol, smokehouse. I would have made it require Incense for some of that though. Nice mod indeed. thanks.
