Currently no plans to purchase CS2, let alone port any projects. Also for obvious reasons the plans to release the next version of this map have been cancelled. Unless something crazy happens. Part of what made this map and the next one (that won't happen now) even possible was all the mod support from the community and the powerful tools they developed to help with editing. In the extremely unlikely event I play CS2 it would still likely be years before I'll tackle another map. Sorry to disappoint.

This is the map my OCD has been craving!! Thank you so much for my sleepless nights and red eyes. :steamhappy:

I hope you are able to port this to the upcoming CS2 map dimensions - that would make the game EPIC!!!

love the map, my one and only thing I dislike is trying to set up the train/metro lines. The over/under can be handled but my issue is the 2 lines coming in on one section of the map
Im sure you know what im talking about

The terrain on this map isnt the worst and is easily workable if you take the time to tweak it
bannister27 22 Nov, 2022 @ 4:14am
Are you still working on a flat version? Pretty please!
gr0uphug 12 Aug, 2022 @ 12:46am
I'm Having a real hard time trying to figure out the Rail / metro system. It seems super over engineered and i've yet to figure it out. Plus, I'm finding placing ferries is nearly impossible.
TinkerBell  [author] 5 Apr, 2022 @ 5:13am
I don't know of any reason why intercity busses would not work on this map.
MJKERR 3 Apr, 2022 @ 2:00pm
Is there an issue with Intercity busses on this map
I have only just noticed, but they never appeared
I have setup a simple new map, and it has the same issue
Has something been overlooked or just not possible?
TinkerBell  [author] 29 Mar, 2022 @ 4:46am
Sounds like you might like my next map then :) @MJKERR
MJKERR 23 Mar, 2022 @ 6:30pm
@Tinkerbell
Many thanks

I have been expanding on this map, and my strategy is very uniform and is nearly working
I have tried to completely some of the islands, but some really do not like it, to create a uniform template

My latest issue was at the centre of the map, the Metro became flooded
The only solution was to remove all the Metro links between the Islands

I would prefer a featureless map, as I could then pre-plan
I have had to remove ALL the trees, so I can add Forestry to one Island
TinkerBell  [author] 21 Mar, 2022 @ 11:07am
I understand your frustrations @MJKERR and I'm currently working through the same challenges in my new map design. The good news is it's very flat compared to this one... The bad news is it's rather featureless atm because of it. Still working on addressing that. I'll keep you posted.

Apart from that, love the aesthetics
There are things I would change,as the Industries DLC does mean using two or more circle / islands per resource, although using Mods can convert the resource, but then it looks different and I am trying to avoid that

At the moment I do not have the Airports DLC, again I think this may be a challenge it requires completely flat terrain

My current issue is creating routes with Trains
I have to create station to station between neighbouring circles / islands only
It does not appear to be possible to create routes any other way
MJKERR 16 Mar, 2022 @ 3:34pm
I then investigated the glitching and it is caused by the gradient between the Metro bridge and where it then has to "pass through" the Quay, and down under the Train
I tried to fix it several times, but that gradient was just too severe
It is possible, but it is just too messy
I therefore decided I would not use the Metro bridges, delete the section from where it appears above ground to the next such section, so Metro would only be within the circle / island

The following day I then noticed the circle / island was flooding!
I had to use two pumps, then delete them
The water in the innermost dam set had risen so high it was passing through under the Metro into the glitch space!

As above, I had already been planning to remove these sections, so did it straight away

I stumbled across this from Biffa on You Tube last week, whilst looking for a new (flat) map
Initially I was like, "No, that is just too synthetic"
However like all Biffa content I watch the whole video
I then searched You Tube and watched the review from BonConB, and I was like, "Why not"
I noted the glitching on his map which had not appeared on Biffa

I read the instructions, let a few game days pass, and did not notice anything strange
Yes, the water was a little unstable, which is common with new water sources and dams, but did not notice any flooding

So I saved a CSL view, planned out some basics
All was going well for the first few days
I started from the centre, centre

I levelled some terrain, then noticed it was not always to get the entire circle / island flat, so I have done the best I can
I then noticed the same glitching as BonBonB
I am wondering if it is caused by the 81 Tiles, as Biffa tends to purchase Tiles as he goes, and for review BonBonB purchases them all

Nicely done, Motosage!
Motosage88 2 Nov, 2021 @ 3:33pm
This is my favorite map, I've got every island developed. Sitting at a population of 160k+ with ZERO traffic (85%+ traffic flow, and thats with NO public transit!)
viperfan7 14 Oct, 2021 @ 4:48pm
Found the source of the issue, its caused my metro overhaul
viperfan7 14 Oct, 2021 @ 3:28pm
I can say for certain its a mod causing it, anyone have any ideas as to what, something bridge/road related I'm guessing
viperfan7 14 Oct, 2021 @ 3:01pm
I'm having an odd issue where there's holes in the geometry of the map, and in some locations (Mainly under the bridges), the terain forms spikes or these weird perfect squares. Anyone have any ideas what might cause that?
julianalenny 11 May, 2021 @ 8:25am
Wow! This map got me back into City Skylines. I don't really like any other games. I came back to leave a comment bc I can see ppl keep mentioning the transportation and the leveling. Honestly, I've never seen a metro line/train better integrated. It does take some time to figure out, but what good transport doesn't?

FOR TRAIN/METRO HELP for newer users:
-use the find it tool if you're not sure if it's a metro or train line. Click the search icon, and select the track. Either the train or metro will pop up. Now you can know for sure if it's train or metro
-Set stations towards the outside of the circles, and connect them from the outside.
.......by making a simple loop off of the track sticking out of the island, and then loop it back to itself. BAM! Your station is connected. Add another the same way, then use line creation tool.

@Tinkerbell no need to apologise at all, like @Ysharros I think it is probably due to lack of experience on my end and I love this map it makes me excited to play skylines, it's so creative, I am already planning my next city on it. I can't wait to try your next creation.
Ysharros 9 Mar, 2021 @ 12:52am
@TinkerBell - honestly, I feel bad even mentioning it, because the map is so beautiful. I think it's more likely to be my lack of skill with stacked underground stuff than any lack in the map. To balance it with something more positive: the circles are marvellous! Especially for someone like me, who has issues knowing what to do next, or being distracted in a thousand different directions on a more standard map.

With the Arcology, the circles provide a sense of purpose and some boundaries without being constraining. And again, just beautiful. Looking forward to your new project.
TinkerBell  [author] 8 Mar, 2021 @ 7:44pm
Thank you for telling me. The metro and trains will be better next time. Apologies.
Ysharros 5 Mar, 2021 @ 9:46pm
@lolosmojo ha! glad I'm not the only one having metro ragequit issues! I absolutely love this map, but even with MoveIt and other mods I'm not experienced enough to work out how to make a metro station connect to the lines. I'm only at 30k pop, so for the time being I'm simply going to ignore rail and metro...
lolosmojo 4 Mar, 2021 @ 9:53am
I truly love this map and can only marvel at the creativity and dedication that must have gone in to it. However I am having an absolute dickens of a time trying to connect the subway system to the point I have just rage quit without saving after spending yet an other 90 minutes trying to sort it out. I am currently at 87k and I so don't want to start over. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Sp3ctre18 3 Mar, 2021 @ 7:14am
needs moar circles :)
kmac7800 2 Mar, 2021 @ 8:48pm
oh, and some metro lines have a "glitch" on them still where they are covered by rock.
kmac7800 2 Mar, 2021 @ 8:47pm
I too am having issues with creating passenger/cargo/metro lines. Is there a trick to knowing which way around an island an metro/passenger train line would go?

Looking forward to seeing your next project when it becomes available.

Would love to see a flat version of this, otherwise a very good looking map :)
DarkKiller ******* 8 Feb, 2021 @ 3:17pm
Maybe make some sort of a circle around islands, and a highway with exit ramps every now and then... Just a thought... Thanks again...
NothingToSay 6 Feb, 2021 @ 6:12pm
I love the concept and the tiling. but the lack of flatness and the fact the water won't behave at all correctly are the major downsides. putting in anything on the water will either result in the object beign unrelaistically in the mid air or floating so unevenly its beyond unrealistic. and trying to work with the map to raise the water levels ends up in frustrating mess that ends the game with whole city flooded except the center tile which is perfectly flat and leveld. worst part is the queys which i love personally but sadly there's terran covering the gorgeous exposed concrete wall into the water. which since the map is already nonsense add a much needed depth of reaslism by making it seem more artifical and more planned than "there". i eagerly await the flat and leveled version
RostenderEdelstahl 6 Feb, 2021 @ 12:57pm
why do i only have 25-30 fps? any fixes ?
TinkerBell  [author] 29 Jan, 2021 @ 3:12pm
@ptgarcia1027 Apologies. I feel your pain. The water, the dams, the quays, and the shipping channels on this map are... less than perfect. But work is progressing on the next map which will (hopefully) remedy all these problems and more.
Zozo-a-gogo 29 Jan, 2021 @ 12:43pm
This map is absolutely amazing! You are an artist!
Nam 29 Jan, 2021 @ 2:22am
hello i have a slight problem where the map has weird terrain heights in front of some dams that cause massive flooding :steamhappy:
TinkerBell  [author] 28 Jan, 2021 @ 11:52pm
@Axeleration I do all the terraforming in GIMP (image editor) and import the heightmap via png. On really complicated projects, I use Sketchup Make to help me calculate / decide where things go *precisely*
Axeleration 28 Jan, 2021 @ 5:00pm
Your map looks awesome, perfectly centered and spaced, most of the early game's tedious setups already taken care of, exactly what I like to build my cities on. How did you manage to do the terraforming so well? I'm thinking about starting a project like this of my own but I struggle to terraform nicely in a straight line, let alone multiple perfect circles. I have used quays and roads as 'rulers' but even then it looks bumpy or even glitchy in some places, unlike the perfectly smooth edges of your circles. Are there some brief directions you can give me on how I can try to pull that off as well?
Peh Pesang 28 Jan, 2021 @ 5:33am
Thank you for all your hard work!! I really love the current map and currently enjoying it so much :steamhappy:
TinkerBell  [author] 28 Jan, 2021 @ 5:22am
[4/4] Anyway um... When? I can't say because I don't know. There is no way of estimating the time required to do the work. I play 3 video games and I split my time between them roughly equally. I don't get paid by anyone for anything. I do this because I like the challenge... Though honestly I'm surprised at how well this map has been received and how much people have enjoyed it. It certainly helps me feel like my time hasn't been wasted... Though I did (foolishly) imagine I would get monetary donations, I see now that's clearly not something people do as freely as the internet has led me to believe. But... that's not really why I'm doing this anyway so it doesn't matter.

I'm working on it.
TinkerBell  [author] 28 Jan, 2021 @ 5:22am
[3/4] My last map took months. The terrain took the longest because I didn't know what I wanted, and I had to try *many* things that didn't work before finding the inspiration I needed that would turn it into a playable map. It took me about 3-4 weeks to design the road infrastructure. At this point I tested the map and found issues and spent 2 weeks reworking and testing portions. It took 3 days to do the trees, and then I spent a couple of days doing a play test. My play test found issues that made it into the final version of the map, but they weren't severe enough to warrant reworking the whole thing. Obviously the terrain is the first thing you do when you build a map. and if that's wrong, everything else is wrong. And that's why I released it as is... Because i'd literally have to redesign everything from the very beginning. So I began work *planning* the next map immediately... But I tried to make sure that folks realized there might be issues as well.
TinkerBell  [author] 28 Jan, 2021 @ 5:21am
[2/4] But I haven't placed any roads yet... nor trees... As far as finished product, it is less than 5% complete. The plan, however, is always the hardest part. I've learned to plan all my work far in advance so that I don't have to redo much, if any. And the actual work involved in the production of the new map has been greatly streamlined by everything I've learned making the last two.
TinkerBell  [author] 28 Jan, 2021 @ 5:21am
[1/4 ]I'm still in the terraforming process. I have the main part of the map planned and mostly drawn but I'm struggling with making the outskirts interesting. I don't want the whole map flat. Only the build areas. They're completely flat... (teired, at the moment) and I'm considering mountains in the outskirts but am still undecided. I have the road network planned *in theory*. It's going to operate similarly to the one in Arc23 but many of the inherent problems with the ramps (particularly the omnidirectional sections) are going to be addressed. I'm also making the islands much larger so that each intersection will service a larger area. No one has managed to bottleneck the layout as far as I can tell and it seems overkill at this point so I'm going to keep it, but load it up more by increasing its service area.
